The Sport XS package adds: five-seat configuration with special black leather upholstery, a full exterior Sport styling kit and 18” alloy wheels, chrome side bars, wing mirror covers, door handles and a twin tail pipe extension. Body coloured front lower and rear roof spoilers completes the distinctive exterior. Bluetooth handsfree telephone facility is also a standard feature of 4007 Sport XS.

Although not set for to debut until 2012, rumors about the future Peugeot are starting to circulate more and more throughout the automotive press. Set to compete with smaller models like Ford’s Fiesta, the future 208 will be a replacement for the current 207. The rumored design is believed to be inspired by both the RC Hybrid concept and the newly launched 3008 SUV .

The centerpiece of the front end, the large mouthed grill and swept back headlights are a direct inspiration from the 3008. However, where the SUV is rounded and more docile, the 208 is bolder and much more aggressive.

Here’s a new reason to wish the French sold cars in the U.S. Peugeot showed up to the Frankfurt Motor Show two years ago with the 308 RC-Z , a concept coupe based on it’s 308 series of small cars. Now it’s coming back to Frankfurt this year with the production version.

Unlike many production cars, much of the concept’s lines are rumored to be unchanged. This includes elements like the dual cowl top, large rear glass area, and sweeping roofline.

The top end 308 RC-Z should come with the same 218 hp 1.6-liter engine from the concept. Pricing should start at around £20,000 (about $29K at direct current rates.) That’s not too bad considering a base Audi TT coupe with 197 hp starts at about £25,000.

Positioned at the crossroads between several existing vehicles: the SUV, the MPV and hatchback, the 3008 crossover represents a new and innovative offer, not only in the Peugeot range but also in today’s car market as a whole.

The architecture of the 3008 successfully combines a single-compartment body shape with a forward-positioned front windscreen with elements borrowed from the world of the SUV, such as its lower tailgate (or hobby), its plunging side windows and its raised driving position.

At the front, the Peugeot styling genes have evolved to adapt to the car’s generous size, while at the rear the wide sculpted flanks help to visually attach the car to the road.

The 3008 will be offered with a choice of six power trains featuring two petrol engines and two HDi FAP diesel engines with output between 110 and 156 hp. All the engine are coupled to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automatic one.

Peugeot 4007 by Irmscher

Automobile tuners Irmscher are most commonly known for tuning Opels and other GM Europe models. With their RC line the tuning company has turned their attention to tuning another Euro-only brand: Peugeot , in particular the largest of the French built vehicles the 4007 . The vehicle has been upgraded with a lower front spoiler, metal skid plate under the radiator and a roof spoiler for added visual power. Irmscher also fitted a set of their signature 20 inch Evo-Star design wheels that make this Peugeot stand tall above the rest.

First launched in 1998, the 206 subcompact car turned out to be a very successful model and the 6.5 million units sold are the best proof.

Peugeot 206+

The 206+ is intended for the core European market. It offers a range of engine options, with a 1.1 l petrol engine developing 44 kW (60 bhp) and a 1.4 l developing 75 bhp, as well as a 1.4 l HDi Diesel engine developing 70 bhp, keeping the carbon footprint under control thanks to CO2 emissions as low as 110 g/km.

Peugeot 206+

The 206+ is thus a "range entry" product, in line with clients’ expectations: a benchmark car, modern and modernised, and above all accessible to as many people as possible, without compromising its appeal. Its interior has been designed with care, with a new "wave-look" dashboard and decorative touches that evoke the motorcycle world.

Peugeot is preparing to replace the current 407 . Its successor, the 408 will be revealed in December 2009 and according to the French Magazine Auto Journal might look like this. The 408 will share the same platform as the current Citroen C5 , but will clearly have its own identity.

Jerome Gallix, Peugeot’s design directory declared, "The new Peugeot will still be dynamic, but will feature a simpler design, more harmonious and more balanced." Translation: the 408 will be a revised car on the old car’s platform.

The big news is that next to the standard gasoline and diesel engine, the future 408 will also feature the HYmotion2 hybrid technology revealed by Peugeot in Paris.

PSA Peugeot Citroen is to follow its fellow frenchman Renault into the ultra-low cost car market . PSA is preparing a new entry-level car that will be produced and sold in emerging markets starting in 2011. The new low-cost model could be built in Turkey and Poland and likely to be powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine.

It will initially be sold in eastern and central Europe, Russia, Turkey and north Africa under the Citroen and Peugeot Peugeot brand names. PSA CEO Christian Streiff said the five-passenger sedan could eventually be sold in other emerging markets where PSA is present, including China and South America.

Peugeot unveiled at the Paris Auto Show the RC HYmotion4 , that according to AutoExpress previews the next generation of the mid-size 408. If this is true, earlier reports of the 407 ’s replacement looking only like a minor facelift will be dead wrong.

The RC concept uses a 1.6-liter THP turbo at the rear and a 70KW electric motor at the front. Although this is a functioning design study, the first engines available in the 408 will likely be more conventional.

If the 408 does take its cues heavily from the RC concept, then that may cause enough excitement to have North America ask Peugeot to return. Then again, there may be some forgiveness that needs to happen first.
