Ram revealed the all-new Rumble Bee concept truck at 13 mile and Woodward during the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise on August 17th, 2013. The concept was inspired by the Rumble Bee graphics package that was offered for the 2004 and 2005 HEMI-powered Ram 1500 and previews a new competitor for the Ford F-150 Tremor .

Being based on the Ram 1500 R/T, the new Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept features large air intakes on the hood, a low front spoiler and large wheels on the outside.

This awesome yellow truck, as expected, features a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 powerplant that is certain to push this concept to 60 mph in un-truck-like quickness. Unfortunately, the Rumble Bee package is still a concept, so there are no details on its potential release.

Update 8/19/13: This review has been updated with all of the official details on the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee.

The 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor is the first true sport truck that Ford has produced since it eliminated the F-150 Lightning following the 2004 model year, and it is coming in nearly uncontested. It’s only real competition comes from the Ram R/T , which is essentially a short-wheelbase Sport model with a set of 4.10 gears, 22-inch rims and a nostril-style hood. Keep in mind, however, that Ram has yet to confirm an R/T model for its 2014 1500.

Now, the new-for-2014 Tremor is set to lead the pack at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series during the Michigan National Guard 200 race on August 17th. With its twin-turbo V-6 engine pumping out 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, the Tremor will have no problem being the pace truck for the upcoming race.

From the looks of things, there are only a few changes that transformed the base Tremor into the Tremor Pace Truck, including the safety lights and a more prominent "F-150 TREMOR" decal on the bed. The two models that will pace the race are draped in the red and pewter hues that we saw when Ford unveiled the model.

We’re uncertain whether this will result in a F-150 Tremor Pace Truck model for the public, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it.

The second-generation Toyota Tundra was unveiled back in 2007, but the first major update has just been unveiled at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. You shouldn’t expect any big changes though, because all the updates were limited just to the exterior and the interior. For the 2014 model year, Toyota is also adding a new "1794 Edition" - a tribute to the ranch, founded in the year 1794, on which the Tundra plant is located in San Antonio.

The most obvious choices include the addition of a new, taller squared-off grille, a revised front bumper design, squarer fenders and wheel wells, and an all-new bed design. It gets new sheet metal on the sides, a revised tailgate and an integrated spoiler in the deck. On the interior, updates are limited to new seats and a new-look instrument panel.

Everything else remains pretty much unchanged, meaning customers will still have to choose between three different engines.

What we would have really like would have seen are some improvements in the towing department, but maybe it will work on that later on.

Update 8/9/2013: Toyota has announced the full pricing details of the 2014 Tundra and it starts at $25,920. Plus it revealed more details on the standard features and towing capacity.

Did you know that over 1 billion people tune in to watch the Dakar Rally?

That’s a staggering number for a race that used to run from Paris to Dakar until 2008 and then moved to South America from 2009 until the present time. Next year, the Dakar Rally returns to the spotlight, running from Rosario, Argentina all the way to Valparaiso, Chile.

Ford has always been one of the brands that regularly participates in the rally and for the 2014 installment, the automaker is bringing a pair of Ford Rangers for the 5,281-mile race to Chile.

Mind you, these aren’t your typical T6 Ranger 4×4 Double Cabs that will brave the elements in Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. Built and prepared by Neil Woolridge Motorsport, the Ranger Dakar Rally has been carefully tinkered with to be able to withstand grueling terrain. Both pickups were fitted with 5.0-liter V-8 engines, each producing an impressive 349 horsepower at 4,500 rpm and 413 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm. These powerful engines mate to a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission that links to a four-wheel-drive setup.

More than just its performance capabilities, the Ranger Dakar Rally pickup racers were also given the full race-spec treatment, complete with modified front and rear suspension, anti-roll bars on both sides of the pickup, and a set of 16-inch Evocorse wheels wrapped in race-spec Michelin tires.

With a grueling race like Dakar, fuel efficiency is very important in ensuring that the racers last the whole 13-day run. Fortunately, these Rangers are more than capable of that task, thanks to a fuel consumption rating that runs between 28 liters/100 km (8.4 mpg) and 90 liters/100 km (2.6 mpg), when driving in sandy racing conditions.

The race begins on January 5, 2014 and runs until the 18th of the same month. It’s still a little ways down the road, but it’s exciting knowing that participating teams are already gearing up for the event in their own way.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen multiple spy shots of the 2015 Ford F-150 , but none of these spy shots were of the SVT Raptor version. This, of course, does not mean there won’t be an SVT Raptor variant of the next F-150 . Because the SVT Raptor is a virtual certainty for the next F-150, we decided it was time to throw together a rendering for you.

On the outside, you should expect to see some inspiration from the 2013 Atlas Concept unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but with a meaner appearance. We expect to see a distinct headlight setup that is partially separated by a body-colored strip, more squared-off front fenders, "SVT" badges on the side-view mirrors, defined rocker panels, taillights that match the headlights and an aggressive-looking tailgate.

Just like on the base 2015 F-150, Ford will focus on reducing the truck’s total weight by making use of lightweight aluminum materials. Under its hood, the new SVT Raptor will likely retain the same V-8 engine found in the current model, but with the output increased somewhere in the 450-horsepower area. Ford will also work on reducing the fuel consumption by about 10 to 15 percent.

We expect the new-generation SVT Raptor to arrive a few months after the base F-150 hits the market.

At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego Ford unveiled the F-150 "The Crimefighter" — a concept car that pays tribute to the original Batmobile . The first Batmobile was built by George Barris and unveiled back in 1965. It was based on a Ford Futura concept car and in January 2013 it was auctioned for a cool $4.2 million.

The new F-150 "The Crimefighter" was built in cooperation with Galpin Auto Sports and is based on a 2012 model year pickup truck. The Crimefighter is painted in tuxedo black with Ferrari red accents - similar to the original Batmobile. The bed of "The Crimefighter" has even been adorned with fins, just like the original Batmobile. Under the hood, this F-150 carries a 5.0-liter V-8 engine. Ford makes no mention of engine upgrades, so we assume this V-8 engine produces the stock 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.

What’s very interesting about the Crimefighter is that Galpin Auto Sports is accepting orders for it, so if you want, you can feel like Batman too — if only Batman drove an F-150 pickup...

The Ram 1500 pickup has become a popular model in the years that it’s been patrolling roads all over America.

Everybody has thought highly enough of the pickup that a revised model of the current-generation 1500 was just introduced a few weeks ago. Apparently, that popularity has compelled Ram to build a special-edition model called the Ram Black Express.

Looking the part of a completely bad-ass pickup , RAM built the Black Express to accommodate a slew of new features that completely sets it apart from the rest of the 1500 lot. Not that the latter doesn’t boast of many creds, the Black Express just takes it to another level.

One look at the Black Express and you immediately notice that it’s been blacked out to the hilt, complete with a black grille and front fascia, black bumpers, black badges on the front and rear, and to no one’s surprise, black 20-inch aluminum wheels.

Nobody got confused with what to call this special-edition 1500, apparently.

There’s also the addition of a bi-function halogen projector headlamps with LED running lights, a standard feature on this special edition compared to it being an added option on the regular steeds.

No powertrain changes were made so expect to see the same 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 under its hood, good enough to produce 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque while mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a towing capacity of 9,250 pounds to go with an estimated 0-to-60 mph time of about 8-something seconds and a top speed of about 135 mph.

The Ram Black Express comes with a base price of $26,955, a little over $1,000 more than the base Express 4X2 regular cab.

A monster 6.4-liter V-8 joins the Ram Heavy Duty ranks for 2014 along with two new air suspension designs for the rear ends of the 2500HD and 3500HD. Big motors and soft rides make sense at some of these hefty entry prices.

In bottom Tradesman trim, the 2500HD is a capable hauler with new fifth-wheel towing abilities but a stripped interior. In top trims, the Ram 3500HD Cummins diesel can do all the dirty work and heavy lifting. The goal of the both 2014 Ram HD series models is to do all this with new levels of cabin tech, quietness and ride comfort.

There are typically big trade-offs when moving from the half-ton class upwards. The new Ram HD line aims to literally smooth some of the edges from one of its most distinctive vehicles and make it an easy – but pricey – transition to a real work truck.

Paired with the big purchase price comes some of the most capable and sophisticated technology ever to grace one of these full-size middleweights.

Where Ram Trucks loses points for the generic Ram HD name, it regains face with 2014’s new intake design called… Ram Active Air – or just Ram Air for short.

How do the Ram HD trucks carve out appeal beyond bragging rights for best-in-class towing and cargo loads? Is the evolutionary look too cautious in the face of the Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500 and the Ford F-250 SuperDuty ?

New-for-2014 Laramie Limited and Outdoorsman trims also join the Ram Heavy Duty line, with high-res images of both new trucks after the jump.

So Chrysler has been aggravating all of us by doing its social media teasing via Facebook. Between the SRT Viper and the Ram 1500 teasing campaigns, we were about teased out. Just as it did with the Viper, Chrysler redeemed itself by finally releasing the actual production 2013 Ram 1500.

This new 2013 Ram 1500 made its debut on April 5th via a live webcast on, you guessed it, FACEBOOK! First and foremost, Chrysler’s focus with the new Ram 1500 was gas mileage, as pickups are falling drastically behind cars in this area, and soon buyers will not be able to fuel these monsters. Luckily, Chrysler has no plans to drastically reduce engine size or mess with the aesthetics of the Ram in order to increase mileage. There are just a few tweaks here and there.

The true test is if this pickup can catch up to its main competitors, the Ford F-150 , Chevrolet Silverado 1500 , and the GM Sierra 1500 . The only way that Ram can hope to catch up to these models is to significantly increase its V-6 output and lower the fuel consumption on the V-8 models.

Update 6/28/2013: Ram has just dropped the official details on the 2014 Ram 1500. This review has been update to reflect changes for the 2014 model year.

Ford expanded the 2014 F-150 lineup today, with the addition of a new F-150 Tremor version, which gives customers a model similar to the now-discontinued Lightning model. Unlike the Lightning model, this new Tremor package gets it power from two fewer cylinders and a pair of turbos.

The new Tremor edition comes only in the short-wheelbase, regular-cab F-150 , giving it a sportier look. To add to its sportiness, it comes standard with the FX Appearance Package, which tosses in flat-black trimming, black badges with red lettering and body graphics. The model will sit on a set of 20-inch flat-black wheels to complete the exterior upgrades on this special pickup.

On the inside, the Tremor gets black leather seating surfaces with red perforations and red piping.

Under the hood, Ford installed a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers a total of 365 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 420 pound-feet at 2,500 rpm. The engine offers twin independent variable camshaft timing for improved performance and fuel economy. Sure, this engine is the same as any old EcoBoost-equipped F-150, but it has an extra twist in the back end that helps up the ante a little.

As standard, the Tremor edition comes with a 4.10 axle ratio, which is typically reserved for the FX4 4X4 and SVT Raptor models. Additionally, this rear end features an electronic locking differential for improved traction during takeoff. There is no mention of whether this is a 4X4 or rear-wheel drive, but we assume it is the former.

The Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado are officially on notice to pump out something to match wits with this performance pickup. To date, neither brand has plans to launch a performance model in 2014.

The new F-150 Tremor will be put on sale this fall and prices will be announced later.
