Sony's newest addition to the PlayStation lineup that will arrive just in time for Christmas 2013.

You know a video game is awesome when it deems itself as still subject to further improvements even after it’s already being played in households all over the world.

That’s what we think of Gran Turismo 6 because, for all the incredible and realistic gameplay it offers, Polyphony Digital still cranks out updates and downloadable contents like the game depends on it. Even more impressive is the fact that developers can do it barely two weeks after the game hit shelves.

You know where we’re going here. Gran Turismo 6 has a new content gamers can download, and like most of what it’s produced for its predecessors, this one comes with a whole load of new cars and new features, including in-game mentoring coming from four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel .

As for the cars, there’s a list that runs the gamut of Red Bull race cars, ranging from a racing kart all the way to the Red Bull X2014 Junior race car.

There’s a lot to like about this new content but the best thing about it is that it’s free, which means you won’t have to spend an iota to acquire it.

That’s about as good a holiday present as you can get from GT6 at this stage of the game.

We knew that Gran Turismo 6 was going to be awesome, a true testament to the tireless work put in by Polyphony Digital to live up the game’s tagline as "the real driving simulator".

What we didn’t know, or didn’t come to expect, was that Polyphony Digital could also tug our heartstrings. But that’s exactly what it did when its producers managed to reunite Mario Andretti with his 1948 Hudson , the very first race car the iconic racer drove in his illustrious career.

More important than just reuniting Andretti with his first racecar, Polyphony also took the task of not only restoring the Hudson as part of its "First Love" video and live-streaming series of the same name, but also creating a digital representation that will be included in the game as a free download.

The studio booked a December 16th reunion of the rebuilt Hudson and Andretti, and you can see the video of this reunion above.

Don’t be too worried if your eyes start welling up. Something tells us that’s what Polyphony wanted all along.

Gran Turismo 6 may have scored a nice coup when BMW agreed to debut the M4 Coupe in the game,, but one competing video game franchise saw it as an opportunity to call GT6’s marketing score with one of its own.

In an announcement that was as pleasant as it was surprising, Need for Speed Rivals made its own recently-launched-car debut when the 2015 Ford Mustang became available in the game.

For what it’s worth, the 2015 Mustang is car tailor-made for a game like NFS Rivals, which possibly explains why the developers wasted little time putting installing it in the game. You can drive the Mustang as either a cop or a racer, two things the all-new pony car is well-versed at. And unlike GT6, or Forza 5, for that matter, driving skills sometimes takes a backseat to all-out mayhem in Need for Speed.

So if you’re running roughshod, steering clear of law enforcement authorities, or doing the actual pursuing of racers, the addition of the 2015 Ford Mustang in Need for Speed Rivals will make playing the game that much more enjoyable.

The preview video of the muscle car already makes it look at home in the Need for Speed franchise. Imagine what you can do with it once you get your hands on the game.

Need for Speed Rivals is already on shelves for the PS4 and XBox One with the 2015 Mustang likewise available to download.

Sony usually puts a gap of a few years between two different editions of Gran Turismo . The only exception was the second and the third games of the series, which were unveiled only one year one after the other (2000 and 2001). Now it looks like history is about to repeat itself, as the seventh installment of the game is already under development and may hit stores in 2014, in the "best-case scenario."

This announcement is a strange move, considering that Gran Turismo 6 is expected to go on sale on December 6th, 2013. However, this announcement was made by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi himself, so it’s no hyperbole..

Of course, the decision was mostly influenced by the release of the new PlayStation 4 — a platform that will be used for the upcoming GT7. According to him, while developing the new GT6, the company had to "tune the software 100 percent to maximize the PS3’s architecture," but the "PS4’s hardware is much better, so I think the overall quality of the game across the board will be boosted when you come to play it."

So PS4 buyers rejoice, as Gran Turismo will soon be a part of your new console. We’re just wondering if the current Vision Concepts developed for the GT6 will still be offered in the GT7, because it will be indeed a real waste.

Gran Turismo 6 is set to officially hit stores around the globe on December 6th, exclusively on PlayStation 3. However, according to producer Kazunori Yamauchi, players won’t have to wait too long for GT7, as is already under development and it will be completed in just a year or two.

In an interview with Famitsu, Yamauchi said that "the PlayStation 4 game we’ll likely call GT7 will be done in about a year or two." However, when talking about the new platform he said that he does not expect the new hardware in the PS4 to affect the game as much as hardware updates did when the PS3 debuted.

The PS4 features more memory, but it’s CPU performance should be nearly identical to the PS3. One thing is certain, the PS4 will not affect the "online community aspect of the Gran Turismo series" which "is the most exciting aspect of the franchise."

While Gran Turismo 6 is getting all the justifiable hype leading up to its release on the new Sony Playstation 4, another car racing video game is determined to stamp its own mark on the new console.

DriveClub doesn’t have the cache of Gran Turismo 6, but it can live up to its promise to deliver a never-before-done playability that makes strong use of social media and interactivity, then we could well be seeing the future of car racing video games.

Recently, Evolution Studios released a pretty comprehensive preview of Driveclub at the Gamescon 2013 event, in Cologne, Germany, and sifting through all of these previews felt like deciding what kind of chocolate we could have for desert. It’s also worth noting that the interactive gameplay of Driveclub means that you’re going to need a pretty strong Internet connection to be able to enjoy all of its benefits.

That could be a problem for some, but it could be a God-send for others, especially for those looking for an alternative way to enjoy the new features that the PS4 is expected to have.

If you love cars, chicks, guns and carnage, then you’re likely itching to get your hands on the new Grand Theft Auto V — we certainly are. Well, you still have a little bit of time to wait, but Rockstar Games has just released another official trailer for the upcoming shoot-em-up and drive-em-hard game to help ratchet up our excitement a little.

Unlike the last trailer that introduced us to the three main characters, this trailer focuses more on the overall game. It gives us an inside look at the cool things you get to do and the intense vehicles you get to drive, from Lamborghini look-alikes, to beat-up pickups to sport bikes and much more — did we really see a fighter jet?

If you’re anything like us, we prefer to spend the majority of our time finding the coolest and fastest cars to go whipping around town in. That’s when we’re not posting our character on the highest rooftop with a rocket launcher, picking off police helicopters, of course...

The game hits shelves September 17th, so mark the calendar!

We all know the thrill of playing a game like Need for Speed . No matter how expensive our wrecks turn out to be, there still just a reset button away from being brand-spankin’ new again.

So it comes as no surprise that the newest title to come out of the Need for Speed franchise, appropriately dubbed "Rivals", allows us to go through the ringer of being chased by some highly-powered police cars. Of course, the cars that are at our disposal are no slouches either, making for a really awesome game that allows us to wind down after a day’s worth of work.

Check out the new trailer video featuring the "undercover cop" and you’ll notice a bevy of rare exotics getting wasted like there’s no tomorrow. There’s a Pagani Zondas , Bugatti Veyrons , and yes, even the rarefied Lamborghini Veneno .

All of them, and a whole lot more, are part of the new Need for Speed: Rivals game.

The game is scheduled to hit shelves this November as part of a series of launch titles for the PlayStation 4 and the XBox One. But don’t worry, the game will also be available for the PS3 and the XBox 360.
