2009 Pontiac G5
 
For 2009 the Pontiac G5 offers more power and better fuel economy, all thanks to a 2.2 liter Ecotec engine that delivers 155 hp and has a fuel economy of 37 mpg. The G5 is available in base and GT models, all marked by clean lines, a spacious, five-passenger interior and standard rear spoiler. Last year, the G5 made safety features such head curtain side-impact air bags and GM’s tire pressure monitoring system standard. For ’09, a passenger sensing system is added, complementing the standard dual-stage frontal air bags.  Also new for the ’09 G5 lineup is the addition of Bluetooth connectivity with the OnStar system (OnStar is now standard on all models). This wireless technology enables hands-free phone calls for safer, more convenient connections. Two new exterior colors are added to the G5’s palette: Quicksilver Metallic and Silver Green Metallic (Nitrous Blue Metallic and Titanium Metallic are retired); and a new interior color combination is added: Ebony/Red leather-appointed seating is available on GT models. Pontiac unveiled the G8 SXP sports sedan earlier this year at the New York Auto Show. The company announced that sales will begin around the end of 2008 as a 2009 model. Here’s now a few spy shots of the pre-production G8 GXP. The G8 GXP is powered by a 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8, currently rated at 402 hp and 402 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is the newest member of GM’s small-block V-8 family. It features a revised, larger-bore cylinder block, high-flow, L92-style cylinder heads; larger-diameter pistons; unique camshaft and camshaft timing; revised valvetrain with offset intake rocker arms; high-flow intake manifold; and high-flow fuel injectors. 2006 SEMA Pontiac Solstice for sale on Ebay
If you want to show off a little, just until the others realize about your trick, you can choose for a 2006 Pontiac Solstice and claim it was one of the thousand concepts presented during the 2006 SEMA show.  The car is made of a custom one-off bodykit consisting in a re-designed front, new rear bumper, stylish side skirts and features 20-inch TSW alloy wheels packed in 235/30/20 tires signed by Pirelli, KW sport springs, an AEM cold air intake and a Magnaflow performance exhaust. Pontiac unveiled at the New York Auto Show the G8 sport truck. Back then the company announced that the production version will be powered by the same 361-hp 6.0L V8 power plant that is found in the Pontiac G8 GT. But since then gas price went crazy! And a V8 engine might not be the best choice. So, Pontiac decided to put a V6 engine under the hood of the future G8 ST (or El Camino, or what ever the name will be!). This would be the same 3.6L 256-hp V6 found in the G8 V6 sedan, and would have the same 17/25 mpg fuel economy as the V6 sedan. GM will increase pricing for the 2009 G8 GT
Until recently the Pontiac G8 GT was "fastest car under $30 grand". We say "was" because today GM announced will be raising the base GT sticker price $1,365.00 to $31,365.00. All 2009 G8’s will come standard with XM Radio and eventually Bluetooth connectivity; both options deeply missed on the 2008 model. The G8 V6 base price will remain at $27,995.00. The G8 GT is powered by a 361 hp 6.0L V-8 engine. Video commercial wrecks a GTO in San Francisco
Our friend Gregg at WreckedExotics, just sent us some pictures and a video taken on the set of a video commercial where a Pontiac GTO is wrecked whole landing in the street of San Francisco... Bullit style! We have no idea yet who is behind all this but the poor GTO certainly made its last jump. The video shows how both stunt men can barely control their car after the landing. Let’s just hope it is not a Prius commercial showing the death of the V8! Full story Magazine

With over 25 years of turbo tuning experience, APS unveiled its latest masterpiece: the 557 hp Pontiac G8. Featuring the 6.0 liter V8 engine, the vehicle received an intercooled twin turbo system mounted cleverly under the chassis in order to move the heat from the engine. With over 590 Nm of torque, the car is capable to sprint from 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds while the top speed is of 300+ km/h. APS announced that owners of VXR8s and HSV Clubsport R8s are also welcomed at APS in order to see how much further their car can get.
Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe to produce 300 hp
Pontiac will launch a GXP version of its newly launched Solstice Coupe next year. The GXP version will come to compete with the 2010 Nissan 370Z. And the company says it will produce around 300 hp. the extra horses, courtesy more turbo boost, intercooling and a new fuel rail, will be available in the GXP convertible, too, and only with the manual gearbox in either coupe or convertible (automatics will be stuck at 260). Second, that’s still about 30 horses shy of the 370Z, if the Infiniti G37 is any guide. But the 3.7 is a V-6, of course. The 300-horsepower Ecotec turbo is probably a short-term engine, as expected interim Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards before the 2020 rule aren’t likely to be kind to such high output. The targa coupe also will come with the 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter Ecotec engine.
