The car tunings for Porsche never seems to end. This time, it’s the Porsche 997 GT3 , courtesy of Sharkwerks and Evolution Motorsports.

In addition to the apple green exterior, the US-based car tuners upgraded the 997 GT3’s engine by adding 0.3 liters, from a 3.6-liter engine in the traditional 997 GT3 to 3.9-liter to their own version. As a result, the tuners were able to spike the 997 GT3’s horsepower from 415 hp to 502 hp.

Likewise, the two tuners developed their own parts for the car, with Sharkwerks working on the piston upgrades and Evolution Motorsports banging up an upgraded cylinder kit for the 997 GT3.

A video of the work done by the Sharkwerks and Evolution Motorsports is available so you can see first-hand how the whole process of tuning the 997 GT3 came about.

There’s always a thin line between being caught in the cross-fires and plunging head-on to it. That was the situation two men from Ottawa found themselves in and they chose the latter.

Riding in a 2008 Porsche 997 , Ryan O’Connor and Matt Speza – the brother of the Ottawa Senators’ Jason Speza – chased down a man who had just sexually assaulted a distraught woman.

The two men were driving around the streets of Ottawa when a woman jumped in front of them and asked for help after being sexually assaulted. O’Connor and Speza then told the woman to get in the car after which they chased down the suspect along a number of residential areas in the city, even going at speeds in excess of 170 kmh.

The chase finally ended when the assailant ran into a police barricade along Highway 416.

The U.K based tuning firm Cargraphic has just unveiled a new tuning package for the Porsche 911 Turbo 997 , the GT RSC 3.6. This highly modified 911 Turbo’s power plant has been boosted in order to achieve a maximum output of 624 HP up from the standard 473 HP offering from the 3.6 Liter flat six engine.

The 911’s body has been upgraded with a low hanging downforce inducing front lip that looks like it will scrape the surface over rough roads and a large oversized rear wing to keep the heavy end of the turbocharged Porsche planted to the road. Rounding out the exterior of the Cargraphic GT RSC 3.6 are a set of staggered black mesh racing wheels complete with a decorative white stripe around the rim and a deep dish rear lip with a set of oversized brakes underneath.

Inside the modified Carrera a full roll cage stiffens the chassis enough to handle the extra 150 HP from the boosted boxer engine. Thanks to the newfound grunt, the Cargraphic GT RSC RSC 3.6 is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.0 seconds and reach 180 MPH from rest in only 22.8 seconds. The twin turbo 997 is quite the impressive machine from the factory, but with a little help from Cargraphic it becomes a true super car competitor.
