  The next generation of Porsche, successor of the 997 model (2005-2011), internally called 991 will be revealed at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2011. Longer wheel base and central engine are rumored.

TechArt continues to update the new 911 lineup with a new tuning kit based on the Turbo models . It will be unveiled at the Essen Motor Show, and as usual, it includes exterior, interior and under-hood updates. Unfortunately, TechArt is saving the latter updates for a later date.

The body kit offered for the new 911 Turbo is made from a lightweight fiber composite of carbon and polyurethane RIM, and was specially designed to improve the aerodynamic features of the model. It includes a new front spoiler that extends for more effective airflow at the push of a button of speeds under 75 mph, or automatically at greater speeds. It retracts automatically at speeds under 50 mph.

TechArt is also offering a new rear spoiler that improves driving dynamics and stability throughout all driving conditions. There are new aero wings, a new air vent on the front apron, new air-flow-optimized side skirts, a new roof spoiler and a new diffuser trim.

There is one month until the 2013 SEMA show opens its gates, but we already have a pretty good idea on a lot of what will be displayed in Las Vegas. Today, Los Angeles based tuner, Misha Designs, released the first images of a pretty cool body kit it prepared for the Porsche 991 and that will be on display at SEMA in November.

As usual, this Misha Designs body kit takes a regular 991 and pushed the sports car’s look to a whole new level of style. The kit includes new front bumper, hood, side skirts, a rear bumper with diffuser and a rear spoiler.

The body kit can be applied to all Porsche 991 models, starting with the 2012 model year, and it can be ordered from the tuner immediately after the show.

We can’t even begin to imagine how harrowing an experience it is to crash a car at high speeds. That’s the kind of scenario we wouldn’t wish on anybody, even our worst enemies.

But some people just don’t have the luck, or safety bearings, as other people. In this particular case, it was a combination of both things. At the recent Hellendoorn Rally in the Netherlands, driver Harry Kleinjan was driving a Porsche 911 RSR during the rally when the brakes presumably locked on one bend, sending Kleinjan and his navigator straight into a cement barricade.

But the crash itself wasn’t the scariest thing to happen to the two; it was what happened after it.

Upon hitting the cement barrier, the 911 RSR immediately shot off the ground, smacked the barricade another time sending the wheels off of the race car before flipping over and hurtling straight into a river on its head. It’s the kind of scary crash that you normally see in movie, except that in the latter’s case, those crashes are planned and staged.

Neither happened on this occasion but fortunately, both Kleinjan and his navigator escaped their all-too-real brush with death without any serious injuries.

In the end, that’s the most important thing and given how the 911 RSR pretty much flew off the track, them coming out of the ordeal with their limbs intact was a bigger win than crossing the finish line first.

Like a lot of the marquee auto brands in the world today, Porsche has taken that dive into the world of in-house customization and recently, it made a rather subdued and under-the-radar release of one 911 model that falls under this program .

Limited to just a handful of examples, this is the 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Exclusive Edition. Apart from its exclusive quantity, this particular model will only be sold in the United Kingdom, further keeping it away from the hands of customers outside the British isles.

As far as its uniqueness is concerned, the 911 Carrera S Exclusive Edition boasts of some impressive exterior and interior additions, including an exclusive grey exterior finish, a sport design body kit, premium leather upholstery on the interior, and most distinct of all relative to its market, a series of Union Jack (that’s the flag of the United Kingdom) logos on the door entry guards and the center armrest.

The 911 Carrera 4S Exclusive Edition is powered by a 3.8-liter, flat-six engine that produces 395 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque in its standard setup, but Porsche Exclusive equipped it with a Power Kit to boost its output. Porsche has yet to unveil its total output, but we expect it to fall near the 425- to 450-horsepower range.

Despite Porsche unveiling the 911 Turbo Coupe earlier this year, Porsche decided to make us wait a little bit longer for the Convertible version. We’re not too sure why Porsche waited so long, but to no surprise, the convertible version features the same design language and features as the Turbo coupe .

Just like with the coupe, the new 911 Turbo Convertible will be about 1.1 inches wider than the base 911 Carrera 4 and will receive a new all-wheel-drive system, active rear-axle steering and adaptive aerodynamics. The main difference is, of course, the fabric top that opens and closes in just 13 seconds.

The new 911 Turbo Convertible will be put on sale early next year at a starting price of $160,700 for the Turbo version and $193,900 for the Turbo S version.

Out of the shadows of the recently concluded Frankfurt Auto Show , Porsche tuner TechArt has created a new individualization program for Porsche ’s most iconic model, the 911.

Specifically, this program is for the 911 Carrera 4 , and TechArt wasted little time giving it a comprehensive aerodynamic program that not only enhances the sports car ’s appearance, but also improves its performance and handling credentials.

Not a lot of companies can tap into the soul of a Porsche vehicle quite like TechArt, so it’s no surprise that its new program for the legendary German sports car comes with the intricate knowledge of knowing what parts need to be improved on to ensure that the 911 Carrera 4 improves both its aesthetic appeal and overall performance credentials without compromising its status as one of the best sports cars in the world.

That might be a tough task for other tuners. But for TechArt, it’s pretty much a walk in the park.

Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet is pretty well documented, thanks to hundreds of spy shots floating around the internet. But some people — us included — were curious if the Cabriolet version would inherit all of the Turbo Coupe’s new looks, or if Porsche would pull a fast one and carry the drop-top over one more year.

Well, you can put those question all to bed, as we just caught the 2014 911 Turbo Cabriolet sitting pretty in a parking lot completely uncovered. This is when our sneaky spy photographer dug in deep to verify that everything from the 911 Turbo Coupe transfers over to the Cabriolet sometime later this year.

The 2014 911 Turbo Cabriolet will roll in a pair of variants: Turbo and Turbo S. The firmer will come bearing a 3.8-liter, flat-six engine that pumps out 520 horsepower, and the latter carries the same flat-six engine, but it pops off with 560 ponies.

TopCar announced its participation in the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show with a pretty cool tuning kit based on the new-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4S . The kit is called Stinger and for customers interested, it can be ordered at a price of €14,280 (about $19,000 at the current exchange rates).

The new Stinger kit is mainly focused on updating the exterior look of the 911 Carrera 4S , and offers a sporty and powerful aerodynamic kit. Thanks to all the changes it received, the 911 Carrera 4S Stinger does not only look more aggressive and speedy, but also sits lower and wider, thanks to the new shape of the front and rear bumpers.

The kit also includes a new hood, some extra spoilers, plus some updates to the interior, depending on the personal taste of the customer. The car sits on new wheels from ADV.1.

At the end of July, Porsche set a new record for the largest parade of 911 models , with 1,208 different 911s lapping Silverstone at once. Now, two weeks later Porsche decided to finally unveil the video of the record parade.

The parade was part of the celebration of the 911 ’s 50th anniversary and was organized by Porsche Club Great Britain. Along with bringing together this amazing number of 911s from all generations, the parade also brought into focus legendary drivers and Mark Porsche, the son of Ferdinand Alexander ’Butzi’ Porsche who designed the original 911.

The parade brought together classic Carreras, 911 RSs, RSRs, 911 GTs, Speedsters, Targas, and 911 Turbo and you can spot them all in this short video. Check out the video and try to see how many models can you recognize and which ones would you like to own. We’ll take them all...

The new-generation 911 Turbo was caught testing many times, but today the Stuttgart-based company decided to finally drop the official details on the new model.

The exterior brings no major changes, but we have to admit it is the best looking model from the new generation 911. It received a new all-wheel-drive system, active rear-axle steering and adaptive aerodynamics among many other new features. The new 911 Turbo also features the widest body of all 911s , as it is about 28 mm (1.10 inches) wider than the 911 Carrera 4 models .

As previously rumored, the new 911 Turbo will only be offered with only the PDK gearbox.

The 911 has taken a lot of heat from plenty of manufacturers as of late, including a relative newcomer to the realm – Nissan – so buyers now have more choices than ever. Is the 911 Turbo still the king of the hill?
