Next week’s Essen Motor Show will be overflowing with all sorts of high performance German tuner cars, Wimmer RS will be one of those specialists present with their GT2 Speed package for the track tuned razor sharp rear wheel drive turbocharged version of the Porsche 911. With modifications made to the flat six’s engine block, rods and pistons, injectors, cams, throttle bodies and upgraded intercooler, the Wimmer RS GT2 Speed Bi Turbo now sends an astonishing 827 HP directly to the rear wheels.

The newfound power means that the modified Porsche GT2 can sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.38 seconds and hit the magical 300 km/h mark in just 20.2 seconds. Riding on a set of Sportec rims measuring 20 inches in diameter and with aerodynamic optimizations like slim carbon fiber side mirrors and a carbon fiber Gurney flap on the rear spoiler the Wimmer RS GT2 is quite stable at its 234 MPH top speed. So what is the cost of this kind of performance; Wimmer will sell you both the car and the kit for the mere sum of 281,000.00 Euro.

Press release after the jump.

<![CDATA[9ff BT2: 850 HP Porsche GT2]]> http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/9ff-bt2-850-hp-porsche-gt2-ar75406.html

High horsepower Porsches are coming back into style.Last summer the German tuning firm, 9ff, released a ridiculously powerful version of Porsche’s current performance figurehead, the GT2. What set the 9ff GT2 apart from the standard vehicle was a tuning kit that could make 670 HP, up from the factory 520 HP, and go 220 MPH.

Not to be outdone by the American tuners, Switzer Performance, and their stock looking 800 HP GT2. 9ff has shot back with a complete reworking of their previous package, complete with a hearty diet of carbon fiber and a paintjob that should be worth a few seconds around a track. Most of the body panels have been replaced with the lightweight black stuff and under normal circumstances it would be a crime to cover it up, but the classic Gulf paint scheme from Le Mans cars like the Ford GT40, Porsche 917 and now Aston Martin’s LMP1 entry make this GT2 look at home on a racetrack.

The flat six in the 9ff BT2, makes 850 HP and motivates the uber911 to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.0 seconds, hit 120 MPH in 8.7 seconds and the all important 300 km/h mark in 18.5 seconds. That is 180 MPH in less time than it takes an average car to complete the quarter mile. Because the 9ff BT2, is an upgrade over their old GT2, the vehicle’s top speed has been raised to 240 MPH, but 9ff will custom tune customers gearboxes with either shorter gearing for enhanced acceleration, or long cogs for even more top end. All this can be yours for only €285,000 ($398,000).

<![CDATA[800 HP Porsche 911 GT2]]> http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/800-hp-porsche-911-gt2-ar75302.html

A decade ago, if you drove a car with 200 HP, it was something special; but today it is hard to even find a car with less horsepower. Factory V6s are making more than V8s used to, and get a lot better gas mileage. These days it is not uncommon to have anywhere from three to four hundred ponies under the hood of your ride. So in order to stand out in a world of high performance Porsches, you need something special, something like an 800 HP 911 GT2. The American tuning company Switzer Performance can give this to you, for the measly sum of $39,000 plus the cost of the Porsche.

Switzer is able to achieve such astronomical power figured from the flat six thanks to a set of custom ball bearing Garret GT30R-based turbochargers. Switzer’s upgraded turbos are capable of compressing massive amounts of air, while generating less unwanted heat and friction than the stock units, the charged air is them brought back down to operating temperature inside a pair of Switzer’s own MONSTER intercoolers. Each cylinder is then fed additional air and fuel by way of larger injectors and custom intake plenum with an oversized throttle-body. In order to maintain factory driveability, the engine is still controlled by the stock ECU; however Switzer has reprogrammed the unit to get the most out of their custom setup.

Press release after the jump.

<![CDATA[Porsche preparing GT2 RS?]]> http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/porsche-preparing-gt2-rs-ar69988.html

Porsche loves to redefine hardcore. A 911 not good enough for you...try a 911 Turbo. The turbo is too pedestrian...try a GT3. GT3 still not getting you tingling...here’s a GT2. If the GT2 needs to be more hardcore... maybe it’s time for a GT2 RS.

We’ve heard rumors before that Porsche is preparing an update GT3 RS, but now the turbocharged GT2 may be getting the RS treatment as well. If the rumors become reality, the GT2 RS could be the quickest road-going Porsche ever. The current 3.6-liter engine in the GT2 makes 530 hp, and the RS version could lose up to 440 lbs and gain as much as 50 hp. The new car is also rumored to feature a Perspex rear window and center-locking wheels. If all goes well (fingers crossed), the GT3 RS could be here as soon as next spring.

<![CDATA[Techart GTstreet RS based on the Porsche GT2]]> http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/techart-gtstreet-rs-based-on-the-porsche-gt2-ar60947.html

Few months ago the Techart GTstreet based on the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet was unveiled at the Chicago Motor Show. The car featured 630 hp and was capable to achieve a top speed of 345 km/h. Well, it seems that those performances weren’t enough for the German tuning company and in order to solve this problem Techart unveiled another version of the GTstreet called RS which is based on the Porsche GT2.

The vehicle features a 700 hp engine and a total torque of 860 Nm. For better stability the tuner used a new Bilstein suspension kit which with the are Michelin Sport Cup Plus tyres deliver a better stability at very high speeds. Some ”minor” details would be the sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and the astonishing price: € 330 000.
