2008 Porsche 997 GT2 by McChip

  Review

The last time we heard from Mcchip dkr, they were working on a speedier version of the Volkswagen Golf R. Not a bad gig, but they’ve come a long way since then, baby.

Their latest tuning project was hooking up the most powerful Porsche 911 in the line-up: the Porsche 997 GT2. The upgrade package starts off with the addition of modified turbochargers and high-performance charge air coolers. These coolers include a silicone Tube Set, Cargraphic 200-cell sport catalysts, and manifolds. These extras build up the 3.6L engine to deliver 657 HP and 615 lb-ft of torque, up from the standard 523 HP and 502 lb-ft of torque.

Mcchip dkr could have pumped even more torque out of the GT2 - over 664 lb-ft, in fact -, but since the car already has an uncontrollable amount of power, they thought it best to keep it dialed down so the vehicle could still be controlled on the race track.

Anyone interested in putting a little more grunt into their Porsche 997 GT2 need to shell out 23,000 euro, or about $33,000 at the current exchange rates.

I was impressed with the speed performance of the car though it doesn’t have an awesome styling. I think the pricing of the car is equal to an Audi car.

The car is not that sporty compare to the 911. However, I am impressed with the speed performance of this vehicle. Its produced power output is kind of amazing and the torque is just enough to make the car blast in the race track.

Well, I don’t really care whoever made this one. All I know is that it is really one heck of a ride. Just hope they will be able to churn out more of this.

This one must have been an oversight by the site. Oh well, that happens at times. As far as I know, the work done by McChip was similar to this one.

Honestly, do we need to consider this car since the GT3 has already come out in the market and the engine performance was quite reliable. However, I think the pricing of the GT2 seems affordable.

Well, the good thing about Porsche car is that it has an awesome performance just like a racing car. And for this, the aesthetic was great and its seems that this aftermarket version would be a hit.

I think that this one is the older picture before McChip modified the car. Maybe we can get a better set of pictures next time, just to see how different the two versions are.

OK, the car definitely looks awesome. However, one thing that I find a bit odd is the spoiler, it looks too big and out of place with the rest of the car’s design.

The good thing was they have made modified the engine performance rather than the exterior. Well, it seems that they have a complete revision for the 3.6 liter turbo unit.

I think they have made a wrong nameplate for this car, it should be McChip  not Kubatech because it was the last aftermarket company that modified this car. However, for this car, I have heard that they revised the engine under its hood. And I would say that they have made an awesome job here.
