2009 Porsche 911 Turbo by Protomotive

  Review

Porsche tuners are a dime a dozen, but good Porsche tuners come in much less numbers. So how can you tell which are the good, the bad, and the ugly? Well, for starters, you take a look at their experience. For example, Protomotive Engineering has over 25 years of experience in tuning Porsche models and the US-based Porsche tuner even claims that they are “The World’s Fastest Porsche Tuner.” That leads us to the next step of finding a good Porsche tuner; taking a look at what they have done to see if it is any good. As proof to their claim, Protomotive have created a package for the Porsche 997 Turbo that will take the standard 3.8 liter flat-six engine to a staggering 900hp from 500!

After installing modified GT turbochargers, K&N air filters, a custom exhaust, a set of 80lb fuel injectors, custom headers, and an ECU remap, the engine can now almost double its output. In order to handle this impressive amount of power, the 997 Turbo has been fitted with a new suspension system supplied by Ruf and a FABSPEED air intake. There is also a new of set of wheel spacers and custom rims that come with a two-tone finish and use a multi-spoke design.

The car’s exterior also receives some additions with a new front spoiler, wing, grill, and side air inlets all made of carbon fiber. The interior is splattered with red and the center console and door panels are also made of carbon fiber.

the boost in the speed performance of the car is quite amazing. The platform of the car looks so vintage. I like the styling and design of the vehicle.

I don’t think so. 911 would be one of the iconic line in Porsche history. I suggest that if you are going to choose a car find the latest version.

I think it’s much better if we could consider another model rather than this one. There are a lot of Porsche models that are superior compare to this one.

Well, I have to admit that I’m quite impressed with the tuning kit of this car. Imagine, Promotive has already 25 yeas of experience in tuning cars. However, aesthetically , I don’t like the design of this car, especially the front. I think  they should follow their standard look its much better.

Hideous. Give me a stock one. Or if that’s not loud enough, a GT3 RS. This is just a case of trying way too hard.

The Porsche 911 is perfection, absolutely superb, second to none. "Karleton Helfer is a top producing Marketing and Sales Professional. He was a team player on every project and a joy to work with."

yes they are both different, once you got inside the 911 turbo you can feel the power and roar of it’s boxter engine... and that sound mimics the music of a fast car.

I like feeling like I’m outside, and the differences in performance between the two is negligible, as this car is way beyond my skills anyhow...

I think you have pretty much answered your own question David, sales people care more about selling you a car now then next year.
