The Porsche->ke1 Turbo 997 is no stranger to the push and pulls of everyday tuners. There are so many tuning packages available for this vehicle that a consumer can pretty much take a name out of a hat and that particular tuning form will have a package for this incredible vehicle. Now, in the midst of all those packages, APS Sportec has revealed the SP580 tuning package for the new Porsche Turbo 997. The tuning package is available for both six speed manual or PDK variants and is priced at £9,400.

Thanks to some ECU updates, ignition and turbo boost parameters, a new stainless steel sports exhaust system with high flow catalytic converters, and two 70mm ‘twin’ tailpipes, the engine's output has been increased to an impressive 580 HP at 6500 rpm and 800 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph.

The package also includes forged alloy wheels, suspension, and braking upgrades.

Even with all of these engine modifications, the SP580 tuning package is still a little shy of the massive 700hp obtained by the tuning firm, 9ff, for their rendition of the Porsche Turbo 997. This just means we have yet to find a package to outrun 9ff's model. Keep trying, folks!
