The new generation Porsche 911 (991) is scheduled to grace us with its presence at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September in its Carrera and Carrera Cabrio bodystyles. We’ve seen plenty of spy shots illustrating the details on each of these variants, but new spy shots have uncovered the higher performance version - the 911 Turbo - which should be making its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March. For the new generation 911 Turbo, Porsche is cranking things up with a sportier appearance, coupe-like proportions, and reduced overhangs. The large air intakes situated on the flanks of the 911 Turbo will rush cool air into the 3.8-liter flat-six engine pumping out about 550 HP. This engine will be combined with Porsche’s newest technologies, including brake regeneration and stop start systems which will help reduce fuel consumption by about 12%. The engine will be offered with an improved manual gearbox as standard, or an optional Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox. The PDK will have with no less than seven forward gears, combining the driving comfort of a converter automatic transmission with the dynamic gearshift of a sequential racing gearbox. The new generation Porsche 911 Turbo will go on sale later in 2012. UPDATED 09/06/2011: Check out our rendering of the future Porsche 911 Turbo! UPDATE 01/26/2012: The upcoming Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe has been caught testing again, this time during winter conditions. .
5 comments: Porsche 911 Turbo This is quite impressive for a sports car, most of the time, when this Porsche 911 test drive. They always got caught. HAHA They are very unfortunate. However, the effect of the car is not that sporty.
This Porsche 911 is almost perfect at many aspects. So I think this Turbo version can literally make a different edge to its line.
With the amazing speed performance of this car plus its sportier look I bet this newer model from Porsche would sell like hotcakes. This newer technology produced an impressive output and offers a better fuel economy as well.
Wow! The newer technology offered by Porsche is impressive. The 3.8-liter flat-six engine that produced a 500+ hp and also consume less fuel is quite a best deal that we can see in the market.
