Can we start calling for an investigation on the water Porsche->ke1 Exclusive designers and engineers are drinking over there in Stuttgart? Are we sure that it’s not spiked with powers that make those who drink it impervious to fatigue? I only ask because Porsche Exclusive has released another personalized creation, this time for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUV. I’m kidding about the performance-enhancing water (PEW, as I’d like to call it), because I really am extraordinarily impressed by the quality and efficiency by which these vehicles are made.

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid is a particularly difficult model to personalize, mainly because it’s bigger than the Cayman->ke5 and Boxster->ke570 programs we’ve seen in the past month. But Porsche Exclusive designers apparently didn’t have any trouble working on the Cayenne. The proof, after all, is in the pictures. The numerous Porsche options added to the Cayenne emphasizes its sporty and muscular appearance.

Porsche has made no indication on whether this Porsche Exclusive program for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is reserved for a single buyer, just an example piece or about to go on sale.

Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Meteor Grey Metallic by Porsche Exclusive in detail

The exclusive customization work on the Cayenne S E-Hybrid begins with a Meteor Grey Metallic finish, which is pretty obvious given that it’s part of the program’s name. Outside of that, the hybrid SUV also features a SportDesign package. This pack comes with a bevy of exterior goodies, beginning with smoked LED taillights with adaptive brake lights, new side skirts, black sports tailpipes, and black Bi-Xenon headlights with the new Porsche Dynamic Light System (PLDS). The package isn’t what you’d call aesthetically attractive, but it does have a more important purpose than just being eye candy.

It’s also important to be reminded that every Porsche Exclusive program comes with a new set of wheels. In this case, Porsche Exclusive gave the Cayenne a set of 21-inch, high-gloss-black Cayenne SportEdition wheels that stand out under the new wheel-arch extensions.

Dark and mysterious with splashes of carbon and aluminum is how you want a Cayenne S E-Hybrid to look. No fancy colors on this one; just a meticulously detailed cabin that carries an undeniable edginess to it

Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid

The Porsche Cayenne is right smack in the middle of a mid-cycle facelift, which is a big reason why Porsche’s popular SUV is getting one major change after another.

The 2015 Cayenne, in particular, is living proof of this mid-life change. It comes with a lengthy list of visual upgrades on the exterior and interior, but more importantly, it has new powertrain options that gives customers more options to choose from. The most prominent change to the 2015 Cayenne is the addition of the S E-Hybrid model, which arrives as a successor to the S Hybrid.

The S E-Hybrid comes with a a supercharged, 3.0-liter, V-6 engine that produces 333 horsepower that combines with a powerful electric motor that adds 95 horsepower. This combo makes a total of 416 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque. Do a little math exercise and the S E-Hybrid’s output numbers are slightly better -- 36 horsepower and seven pound-feet of torque -- than the S Hybrid.

These numbers allow the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds to go with a top speed of 151 mph. In pure electric mode, that top speed falls to 77 mph, but you can at least travel up to 22 miles without burning any of your fuel.

The Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid is priced from $76,400, about $5,500 more expensive than the S Hybrid.
