Porsche scored amazing results with its 911 GT3 RSR race car, so it is no surprise that the company developed a GT3 RSR based on the new 991 generation. The 991-Series 911 GT3 RSR has been unveiled just in time to celebrate 50 years of the Porsche 911.
The new 911 RSR received a series of updates that make it ready for any competition around the world. These updates include a new wishbone front suspension replacing the previously used McPherson struts and a particularly lightweight racing gearbox. Under the hood the racing version keeps the same 460 horsepower 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine as it predecessor.
With the new RSR model, Porshe paid extra attention to a more evenly balanced weight distribution. Lots of aerodynamic components are now made in carbon fiber, like the front and rear mudguards, front and rear lids, doors, underbody, wheel arches and rear wing. The same material has been used on the interior for the dashboard and the center console.
Exterior updates include new air ducting, a centrally-located radiator, while the front end, front lid and rear panel are fitted with quick release systems and can be replaced within seconds.
During the 2013 racing season, the 911 RSR will be wearing starting number 92 and will be driven by Marc Lieb (Germany) and Richard Lietz (Austria).

Youtube user, NM2255, managed to shoot another great video: a Porsche 918 Spyder caught at the Top Marques Monaco event. The prototype caught in Monaco was wearing a matte black paint with Martini Racing livery and racing number "23."
The production version 918 Spyder will be powered by a hybrid system that combines a 570-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 engine with a pair of electric motors – one powering the front axle and one on the rear – that pump out 85 kW (114 horsepower) and 95 kW (127 horsepower), respectively. According to Porsche, the 918 Spyder will offer a driving range of 15 miles in electric-only driving mode and can hit a top speed of 202 mph when the gasoline engine and electric motors are working together.
The new 918 Spyder will be put on sale in September 2013 and pricing will start at $845,000.
Everyone was expecting to see a revised version for the Panamera luxury sedan, but Porsche decided to call it "the second generation." The model will make its world debut at the 2013 Auto China in Shanghai and will be put on sale later in July.
The second-generation Panamera adds a new S E-Hybrid model to the lineup, plus two new luxurious Executive versions. Also, 4 and 4S models get an all-new engine to help increase efficiency while not killing its performance.
Updates made to the exterior are inspired by the new-generation Porsche 911. Up front, we will see more prominent lines, larger air intakes and redesigned headlights. For the rear, the model will add a wider spoiler and redesigned rear lights.

Until now, the new-generation Porsche Boxster hasn’t had a special edition released, but the first one has been announced today and it comes from Netherlands. This special model is called Red 7 and, as you probably have guessed it by its name, it is all about the color red and will be limited to only seven units.
The model has been designed by Porsche Exclusive Course and features a very cool Indian Red exterior paint combined with matte Platinum on the hood and trunk lid. The interior combines very cool black leather with Guard Red inserts and a special "personally built for 7" logo. Each customer will also get a matching protective cover and a coffee-table book with photos of the production process.
The new Red 7 will also be offered with a sports suspension that lowers the car’s ride and a sports exhaust system.

The soon-to-be-resurrected Porsche Targa has been caught testing many times, but the only thing we could bring you were some spy shots. Now, YouTube user DrGumoLunatic managed to catch on video the car testing somewhere in the district of Stuttgart, Germany with nearly no disguise on.
As previously rumored, the new Porsche Targa will bring back the famous fixed targa roof option offered for the first time in 1965. This video definitely offers up some confirmation of these rumors, even though the prototype caught testing here tried to hide the targa roof under that fake soft top.
The 911 Targa should be offered with a 3.4-liter direct-injected flat-six engine that delivers a total of 350 horsepower and 287 pound-feet of torque. We anticipate the top trim level of the targa model to feature a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with an output of 400 horsepower.
With the testing phase well under way, we expect to see the new 911 Targa unveiled by the end of 2013.
The 2014 racing season will mark Porsche’s return to the famous Le Mans race in an attempt to continue its ongoing success story. During its participation at the Le Mans race, Porsche scored a total of 16 overall victories, but the best year for the company was 1971.
For Porsche, the 1971 Le Mans was the race of records: its 917 racecar managed to average a speed of 222 km/h (137 mph) - a first for the company.

The first rumors on a possible four-cylinder engine surfaced early in 2011. We initially thought it would be used on a new model placed under the current Boxster, but also on the future generations Cayman and Boxster. Though the third-generation Boxster has already been unveiled and it features no four-cylinder engine, the rumors continue to circulate.
According to a Porsche official, the four-cylinder engine is indeed being worked on, but it is still in "an early development phase." According to the same source, the development process will take about another three years, so don’t expect to see the new engine before 2016.
The new engine will share the same architecture with the six-cylinder engine used in the current models and should see use in the revised versions of the Cayman and Boxster set to go on sale in 2016.
With this news, we do need to add in a little clarity, as the Macan will be offered with a four-cylinder engine, but not the one that the source is referring to. Instead, it will use a 2.0-liter gasoline and a 2.0-liter common-rail diesel engine that Porsche fished from the VW parts bin.

Yesterday we brought you the first spy shots of the revised Porsche Cayenne. While Porsche is trying to update the performance SUV’s look, some guy asked our friends over in Russia, TopCar, to develop a tuning kit that makes the SUV look, shall we say, “interesting.”
While we may not particularly care for the Red Dragin motif, you still have to admire the perfection that TopCar consistently delivers.
As it name suggests, the new Cayenne Red Dragon combines a white exterior paint with numerous red accents on the wheels and body panels. The aerodynamic kit is made in carbon fiber and includes a new bonnet, new front fender extensions, new front spoiler bumper, new side skirts and a new rear spoiler.
For the interior, the model uses the same theme as the exterior with red and black diamond-tufted seats, red accents on the door panels, a red steering wheel, a red dashboard and a red center console. To complete the dragon part of the name, TopCar added an embroidered dragon on the seats.
We’re sure whoever commissioned TopCar was happy to pay big bucks for this custom work.

Back in 2011, British tuner Kahn Design was unveiling the first tuning kit based on the Porsche Panamera. Now, once Porsche has unveiled the second generation Panamera, the tuner decided to offer a new tuning kit for the first generation. Based on the V6 Diesel version, the new Supersport tuning kit is priced at £68,875 ($104,486 at the current exchange rates).
As usual, the tuner started the work with an exterior kit that includes vented front and rear wide wheel arches with integrated rear air dams and a lower boot wing inspired by the classic 911 turbo style tail. As standard feature the kit is offering LED day time running lights for front wheel arch vents and Kahn enamel tailgate logo. The model sits on new 22-inch RSR wheels combined with brake calipers finished in liquid gold and sports lowered suspension springs.
For the interior the package adds front and rear seats in quilted and perforated black leather with grey Alcantara inserts, Alcantara sport steering wheel, piano black interior trim and floor mats.

Today, Porsche decided to surprise us with the unveiling of the first details on the second-generation Panamera. While most of us were waiting to see some minor modifications applied to the current generation, Porsche considered bigger updates were required.
The most important update offered by the second-generation Panamera is given by the introduction of a new S E-Hybrid model that according to Porsche "sets new standards in efficiency, performance and operating convenience."
In the new S E-Hybrid model Porsche combines a 3.0 liter V-6 engine with a more powerful electric motor and a higher-performance battery. This system allows the Panamera to run in pure electric mode a total of 22 miles and can be driven to speeds up to 83 mph. The car’s electric motor can be recharged externally from the electrical grid, but also using energy recovery while braking.
