When Dr Porsche Ferdinand said “I couldn’t find the car I wanted so I decided to build mine own” and the rest is history. Porsche has been building luxury sports cars for decades and have never been concerned until GT-R created a big buzz around the world when it said it could beat the Porsche 911 turbo and many other sports cars at anywhere, anytime and anyplace!
Porsche buyers are loyal customers they start with a basic 911 carrera then move up to the carrera s, and the next step is carrera 4 s fallowed by the ultimate porsche 991 turbo which makes them think that they can beat 99% of the cars driven on the road everyday. Base of a 911 turbo will get you started over $120,000 without getting into the options lists, on the other hand a premium package GT-R is going to cost you just little over $70,000 so is it a bargain?
We all have seen the pictures of porsche turbo driving along with Nissan GT-R around the race track all over the world during its development. Nissan GT-R used porsche turbo as a benchmark on it is development so it has the courage to keep up with the 911 turbo as well as latest auto reviews suggests that it can actually beat 911 turbo even gt3 almost without breaking a sweat.
Porsche brand has a huge reputation over Nissan but GT-R is a phenomenon because of its extremely hi-tech advanced Drive system which is included in the R32, R33, and R34. This gained a worldwide reputation not just in Japan but also for the rest of the world. Nissan skyline has never been sold in the US officially however some skyline models made it is way to the US after all.
Overall Porsche is a super sport car that can be driven by anyone, reliability always distinguishes porsche from other sports car manufactures so Nissan GT-R has to prove it self before stepping into 911 turbo territory.
Price is a huge factor when it comes to buying a sport car, however porsche owners have been paying the ultimate price for their precious brand so maybe they will consider switching after all, but I do not think that hard core porsche consumers will be likely to buy a Nissan GT-R anytime soon because they will remember the quote “Porsche, there is no substitute”

Do you like cars? Are you fluent in German? Can you be in Germany by this afternoon?
If you have answered yes to all the above questions, then maybe you can finally take your dream job building Porsches. The sports car maker is holding a sort of open house today for students to learn about careers offered at its production facilities. From this, Porsche hopes to get 100 new trainees to begin next year on programs including the new Panamera.
There are 15 different training positions available, including vehicle outfitter, painter or automobile mechatronics engineer. Even more interesting is Porsche is also offering for the first time training to become what it refers to as an “automotive industrial mechanic”. Which after three and a half years, the graduated trainees will be able to take on multiple tasks in vehicle production and work within many areas of the company.
For all those who are reading this and are now ready to hop on a plane, I’ve got some bad news: by the time you read this, the open house has already started. The good news is Porsche does this often, but this open house just happens to be larger than usual. Just keep an eye on its website, more opportunities are available. So start brushing up on you German, because even though this is usually a program for local students, we can all still dream, right?
Few months ago the Techart GTstreet based on the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet was unveiled at the Chicago Motor Show. The car featured 630 hp and was capable to achieve a top speed of 345 km/h. Well, it seems that those performances weren’t enough for the German tuning company and in order to solve this problem Techart unveiled another version of the GTstreet called RS which is based on the Porsche GT2.
The vehicle features a 700 hp engine and a total torque of 860 Nm. For better stability the tuner used a new Bilstein suspension kit which with the are Michelin Sport Cup Plus tyres deliver a better stability at very high speeds. Some ”minor” details would be the sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and the astonishing price: € 330 000.
It seems that the Schwarz and Schulz couple of Team Germany 1 is in coming age this year. After winning the first and the fifth leg of the Transsyberia Rally they took another challenge: to take the first place at the sixth special stage, held just today close to the capital of Novosibirsk. With their 385 hp Porsche Cayenne S it wasn’t very hard for them to surpass the French team, Christian Lavieille and Francois Borsotti, by 4.14minutes. This special drive was held on 78 km of small country roads with steady , tight and curved portions.

After unveiling the facelifted version of the 911 line-up, Porsche has started to work at the next generation Porsche 911, and here’s the first photos taken at a mule around the Nurburgring.
Even if the mule is wearing a 997 body work there are a few details showing we are actually looking at the next 998: the addition of blistered wheel arches hinting at a widened track and a makeshift wing providing additional downforce. Also the quad exhaust tips pulled from the Carrera S aren’t fitted as flush as the 997 model.

German Car Scene revealed new details about the upcoming facelifted versions of the Cayman and Boxster. Both models will go on sale in February 2009.
Like the Carreera and the Carera 4, the Boxster and Cayman will feature LED taillights, LED brake lights, LED rear fog light, dynamic cornering lights, CDR 30 with 5 inch screen and PCM 3.0 touchscreen.
Under the hood there will be two new engines: new DFI-engine generation for 3,4 l and new VC+ 2,9 l engine. PDK will also be offered in order to improve fuel economy.

Latest spy shots revealed that Porsche is working on the next generation Cayman that is set to to be released in 2010. Based on those spy shots, Cayman Club published a few renderings of the car.
The car looks sportier and more aggressive compared to the current model, so lets hope the final Porsche product will look just a bit like this one.

As you know, Porsche is already working on the next generation Cayenne that will be launched in 2010. And here’s how it might look like. It will compete, like always, with the Volkswagen Touareg the Audi Q7.
The Cayenne will be the first of the three new SUVs with a release date of about the first half of 2010. Touareg will be replaced at the end of 2010, while the Q7 sometime in 2013.
The new Cayenne will address fuel efficiency issues with a hybrid and diesel model in the line-up.
Few days ago we were speaking about the beginning of the 2008 edition of the Transsyberia Rally. By the end of the leg two of the rally Team Germany 1 car, driven by Armin Schwarz and Andi Schulz, was with five seconds faster than the Porsche Cayenne driven by Denis Levyatov and Sergey Talantsev from Team Porsche Russia 1. On the third place at the end of the second leg of the rally was the Spanish team Paul Soler and Laia Peinado also in a Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia.
