This weekend, the 41st ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring (N24) in Germany takes place and Aston Martin will be on-hand to join in on all the fun.
The British automaker recently announced that it will bring three very different race cars to the event. Two of them, the championship-winning V12 Vantage GT3 and the record-breaking Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S, are particularly noteworthy for pretty different reasons.
The third and last one, a close-to-production specification 2013 V12 Vantage, probably won’t get as much attention as the other two. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to show it the love it deserves.
This is the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Race Car and it was designed and developed particularly for this weekend’s race. Far more than just being dressed for the party, the V12 Vantage Race Car also comes packed with a 6.0-liter V-12 engine that delivers a stout 510 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, good enough to allow it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and go up to a top speed of 190 mph.

The auto industry has been bitten by the web series bug. How else do you explain its proliferation these days with numerous automakers taking to that approach to give outsides like us a chance to see the inner workings of the company.
All this leads us to Dodge, who is following in the steps of Chevrolet Racing to give us "Beyond the Checkered Flag", its own web series that will chronicle Dodge and SRT’s racing season in the ALMS series this year. The first episode is scheduled to be revealed next week, but for now, the company has prepared a nice little teaser for us to enjoy, which you can check out by click past the jump.
The world of motor racing has seen many cross-industry partnerships, but when it comes to Porsche’s racing history, there are two brands that are normally associated with it: Gulf and Martini.
The latter, in particular, has had a long partnership with the German automaker that dates back to 1968. Since then, Porsche racecars dressed in the iconic Martini Racing livery has become the stuff of legends.
With the Italian multinational alcoholic beverage company celebrating its 150th anniversary, it was only right to bring back its racing colors and return to racing.
And it did so with the return of the Martini livery on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup when it competes in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Barcelona, Spain. The car itself will be driven by nine-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb. Loeb will compete in the first two races, while a still-to-be-determined driver will take the reins of the Porsche racer at a third race later this year.
It goes without saying that Martini Racing’s involvement is not only a way of celebrating its esteemed history as one of the premier alcoholic brands in the world, but also as a hat tip to the bygone days when the two companies won multiple titles together, including a handful of Le Mans 24 hours victories.
As for the car itself, the 911 GT3 Cup is a bonafide bad-boy, built and designed for racing purposes and anchored by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that produces 460 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque while mated to a six-speed "dog type" transmission. The racecar’s performance numbers allow it to hit 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph.

We are pretty sure that both of them knew their cars very well in order to achieve these great results, but what if they change places?
The two champions met up at Hockenheim for a special outing at this legendary venue with Ravaglia taking to the track at the wheel of Spengler’s current BMW M3 DTM car, sporting the classic 1989 livery. Meanwhile, Spengler got a taste of the first-generation BMW M3 with the unique BMW Bank design.
How well do you think they handled the two cars? Regardless of the growing pains as each one gets the feel for the new car, it still looks like a lot of fun.
Just in time for the 2013 Wörthersee event, Seat is coming back with a new version of its Ibiza SC Trophy racecar. It looks familiar, doesn’t it?
Well, that’s because Seat already showed something similar to it last year.
This time, though, the Spanish automaker is giving us a refreshed take of the sports hatch, complete with some new aesthetic modifications and a nice and subtle performance upgrade.
This year, Seat’s work on the Ibiza SC Trophy includes stripping out the interior to fit in some racing equipment, including a full roll cage. The car also gets a modified oil sump, an improved braking system, and a set of 18-inch racing wheels that really add some sportiness and overall awesomeness for the Ibiza SC Trophy.
In addition to the noticeable aesthetic and racing modifications, Seat also gave the Ibiza SC Trophy a 1.4-liter turbocharged TSI engine that now produces 200 horsepower, 10 percent more than what last year’s Wörthersee offering, and mated it to a seven-speed DSG transmission.
It’s quite a treat seeing Seat have some race-spec cars like this, and the best part is, it only costs €31,500 ($41,195).

The 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was quite a successful one for Toyota, as the company set a new EV record of 10:15.380 up the hill in the Electric class. For this year’s hill climb, the company prepared an improved version of its electric car in an attempt to break its previous run.
The improved version of the P002 is powered by an electric motor that takes its power from a 42 kWh lithium-ion battery. This electric drivetrain delivers a total of 536 horsepower (up from the previous 469 horsepower) and a peak torque of 885 pound-feet. The new P002 can hit a top speed of 142 mph.
The model is being developed on a Radical chassis and features an aerodynamic package to help keep the car glued to the ground at high speeds.
The new TMG EV P002 will be driven by Rod Millen at Pikes Peak on June 30th and one week later it will arrive at Le Mans 24 Hours.

In the past few years, Jon Olsson shown quite a passion for customizing special Ultima GTR supercars for the Gumball 3000 international road rally. For those of you who do not know, Gumball is an annual 120-car deep, 3,000-mile road rally that takes place on public roads with a different route each year. Last year’s Gumball took place in the U.S., so this year it is Europe’s turn.
Jon Olsson is one of the guys always present for the rally. For example, in 2011 he developed a special Ultima GTR in collaboration with ADV.1 wheels. For the 2013 rally, his sponsor is Rebellion Racing Team, which is where the name of the car comes from, obviously.
According to the first details, the new Rebellion is a prototype-like conversion, featuring Audi-inspired headlights and Veneno / LMP1 + rear fins and tons of sponsor stickers.

Today at the Wörthersee show, Seat has unveiled the new Leon Cup Racer - a model specially prepared for racing series worldwide. The Cup Racer is offered in two versions: one with a DSG transmission priced at €70,000 ($92,000) and the endurance version with a sequential transmission and mechanical differential lock priced at €95,000 ($124,500).
The Cup Racer version is based on the standard five-door Leon and feature a metallic matte grey paint combined with orange accents. The model is about 40 cm (15.71 inches) wider than the standard version and sits on 18-inch racing wheels. Seat has also installed an aerodynamic package that improves the car’s stability at high speeds. This kit includes a new front spoiler, a rear diffuser and a two-phase roof spoiler mounted on a support.
For the interior, the company offers a high-strength roll cage, bucket seats with a HANS head-protection system, a multifunction steering wheel and a high-resolution TFT display. Under the hood, the Leon Cup Racer gets a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers a total of 330 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

Valentino Rossi is best known for being a seven-time MotoGP world champion, so his racing credentials on anything involving two wheels is pretty much unmatched.
But what happens when you put Rossi behind the wheel of a vehicle with four wheels? Well, we found out when the Italian speedster participated in a PR stunt with Kyle Bush that was organized by Monster Energy at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Rossi driving Busch’s Toyota Camry NASCAR racer seems like an odd team up, but anybody who knows Rossi understands the talent of this man and how he can handle anything you put in front of him, including a 650-horsepower V-8 stock car.
After a few practice laps, Rossi gunned the car and even posted an impressive top speed of 185 mph, good enough to put him in the middle of the field. Now, that’s pretty impressive.

Mille Miglia (or Thousand Miles) was an open-road endurance race, which took place in Italy between 1927 and 1957. During this period, a total of 56 people were killed, and after two fatal crashes that took place in 1957, the race was banned. Now, Mille Miglia is a road rally that takes play each May in Italy on the historic roads from Brescia to Rome and back to Brescia.
Each year, only 375 vehicles are allowed to enter the race and they usually come from Italian makers, like Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. This year however, Mercedes is also planning to enter the race with quite an impressive lineup: a 1928 SSK, a pair of 300 SLs, the 1955 300 SLR and a 1954 220. Behind the wheel will be former F1 driver and brand ambassador, David Coulthard, F1 safety car driver, Bernd Maylander, and old-time racers, Jochen Mass and Karl Wendlinger.
Mercedes made its first appearance in the Mille Miglia in 1931, when it won the race with an SSK, and then obtained another victory in 1955 with a 300 SLR driven by Stirling Moss.
