The 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe will go on sale in France on October 24, 2008 at a price tag between €31,900 to €47,300, depending on specifications. Official debut will be made at the Paris Auto Show.
Renault Laguna Coupe comes with a choice of four equipment levels and a powertrain range that features eight engines, including two V6 powerplants.
The entry level Coupe version (Coupé 2.0 T 170 – 1,998cc €31,900.00) can be recognized by its 17-inch Talisman aluminium alloy wheels and standard bi-Xenon headlamps. The cabin comes with dark charcoal cloth upholstery and aluminium-effect inlay.
The Dynamique equipment level (Dynamique 2.0 dCi 150 – 1,995cc €35,000.00) features 17-inch Tenerife aluminium alloy wheels. The cabin comes with an aluminium ambience, including real aluminium dashboard and door panel trimming, plus aluminium-painted centre console.
After unveiling the Laguna Coupe this week-end at the Cannes Film Festival, Renault today revealed the first official videos of the sportscar that will make its official debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
Laguna Coupe come equipped with two new V6 powerplants which have been introduced at the same time as this image-forging vehicle. The brand new V6 dCi, which is poised to become a benchmark in terms of performance and pleasure, delivers 235hp, while the new 3.5-litre petrol-powered V6 offers 240hp.
Renault launched a mini web site for the future Laguna Coupe that announced that the car will be launched in 26 hours (Saturday 24th may, at 7:00 PM, GMT+1 ). The Laguna Coupe will make its official public debut in autumn at the Paris Motor Show.
The Laguna Coupe was first launched as a concept car last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The concept version was powered by a 2,993cc V6 dCi engine that delivers 230-265hp and a maximum torque of 450-550Nm, depending on the version.
Sales will begin in Europe during the fourth quarter of the year.
The production version of the Laguna Coupe and the Megane 5-doors versions were caught in Australia. Both models will make their world debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
The Laguna Coupe will most probably be offered with 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel engines generating between 140 and 201 Hp along with a top-notch 3.5-liter V6 unit.
The new Megane lets go of the current version’s weirdly styled arse for a more subtle design. However -no thanks to the heavy camouflage, that’s about all we can comment on Renault’s VW Golf adversary.
Renault will unveil at the Geneva motor Show the Laguna GT, a sporty version of the latest generation Laguna, featuring a new Active Drive chassis with four-wheel steering (4WS) and two exclusive high-performance engines in the form of the diesel 2.0 dCi 180hp and the petrol 2.0 turbo 205hp.
Renault Laguna GT is available in saloon and estate forms, both of which occupy the topend of the Laguna range in terms of technology and engines. In addition to delivering best-in-class performance, driveability and acoustics, the very latest evolution of the 2.0 dCi engine yields exceptional peak power of 180hp at 3,750rpm, while peak torque of 400Nm is available from 2,000rpm. Renault Laguna GT is also available with a sports version of the two-litre 16-valve petrol unit (205hp at 5,000rpm; 300Nm from 3,000rpm).
Renault Laguna GT’s stylish looks express an elegance that goes much further than sporting ability alone. The lines of its long, steeply-raked bonnet highlight the purposeful front-end and grille which is redolent of the most powerful Renaults. The car’s forceful character is further underpinned by its lateral air-intakes and headlamps with black masks. Renault Laguna GT sits on specific, generously sized 225/45 18-inch Bridgestone Potenza tyres, the DNA of which can be traced back to Formula 1, while the special Celsium wheels barely conceal 320mm diameter discs at the front and 300mm discs at the rear which provide plenty of braking bite.
Renault Laguna II was the first ever vehicle to achieve a five-star rating in the passive safety assessment tests carried out by the independent body, Euro NCAP.
