Twingo thinks big
Twingo is a city car that is big on the inside and small on the outside. Two million have been produced since the model was launched, and it is now the market leader in its segment in France and Western Europe.
Renault Twingo is also big on safety, comfort and equipment. Its host of excellent safety features include twin airbags fitted as standard, an anti-roll bar, state-of-the-art brakes and headrests. With electrically assisted power steering and a significant reduction in noise levels, it combines driving pleasure with travelling comfort.
One of Twingo’s strong points is a user-friendly navigation system that works out a new route quickly and automatically.
Twingo comes equipped with a choice of two petrol engines: the 60bhp 1.2l unit and the 75bhp 1.2l 16V which provides excellent responsiveness at both low and high speeds, low noise levels and the added advantage of simpler servicing at less frequent intervals.
Another feature usually only found on bigger cars is that Twingo is available with two different types of transmission: a five-speed manual gearbox and the new Quickshift 5 robotized gearbox. The latter leaves the driver free to choose between two driving styles: a flick-shift manual mode that lets the driver select the gear and an automatic mode that works just like an automatic transmission.
