Although the Koleos was just recently launched it already received a TUV-tested accessories package from Cobra Technology&Lifestyle. The company built an elastically 60 mm glossy front guard made of stainless-steel. The high level of safety is also given by the EG operating certificate and also by an optionally auxiliary high-beam headlamp kit for the front guard. The existing roof rails of the standard Koleos can be replaced with a fully functional roof carrier system with lockable Cobra N+ cross rails. The package offers also a range of custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations for the brand new Renault, from striking light-alloy wheels for retaining the original tires to exclusive 8.5Jx20 wheels with 245/35 R 20 tires. > More

The 2009 Megane’s design is inspired by both the Megane Coupe Concept and the new Laguna.
No word yet on what will power Renault’s bread and butter small hatch, but more info should become available as we get closer to the Paris Auto Show.
Although Renault does not currently sell cars in the U.S., it does share a partnership with Nissan. So it’s always good to keep tabs on Renault, because you never know what may show up on these shores wearing a Nissan badge.
As part of its international development, Renault launches a new executive vehicle in the Gulf States. The Renault Safrane is being revived after having been dropped from the Renault line-up in 2000. Throughout the lifespan of the original Safrane, it remained the most expensive and most luxurious Renault available. It was replaced by the Vel Satis, and to some extent by the short-lived two-door Avantime.
This new model is based directly on Renault Samsung Motors’ SM5 sedan. It provides a practical response to the needs of customers in the Gulf States looking for a prestigious and elegant three-volume sedan. Renault Safrane strengthens Renault’s vehicle line-up in the Gulf States, topping the range alongside Mégane hatchback, Mégane sedan, Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet and Clio RS. Equipped with a V6 engine and automatic gearbox, Renault Safrane is manufactured in Renault Samsung Motors Busan plant in South Korea, an 80.1% owned subsidiary of the Renault group.
The exterior design of the Renault Safrane has been carefully thought through to give a general feel of dynamism and elegance. The sleek front features expressive headlamps, grille and bumper (with in-built signal indicators) that blend harmoniously with the bodywork while flowing lines have been given to the hood. Stylish sidelines and arch-shaped window lines have been adopted to emphasise the vehicle’s elegance. A choice of seven body colors (White, White pearl, Metallic, Neo black, Glamour beige, Olive and Sporty silver) ensures that the car stands out in a crowd.
Inside the cabin, which is accessed using the Renault Smart Card technology, the refinements continue with wood-graining inserts. In-car ambience is further complemented by the steering wheel fingertip-controlled audio entertainment system that features 7-way speakers including an 8-inch sub-woofer which provides a concert hall experience. MP3 players can also be connected to the system enabling occupants to enjoy their favourite music selections.
When on the move, full appreciation of the Safrane’s hi-fi set up is enhanced with minimal noise levels. Road and engine sounds have been reduced to a minimum through effective acoustic dampening and the adoption of a semi-permanent silent timing chain which not only reduces vehicle noise but also improves durability.
Air-conditioning has been made a priority with ventilation ducts positioned to promote optimum temperature maintenance both at the font and rear cabins. The automatic climate control also has independent settings both at driver and passenger sides. All this makes the air-conditioning of the Renault Safrane one of the best in the Middle-East market - this being confirmed by recent clinic tests.
The concept of stress-free motoring and ergonomic simplicity can also be seen in the Driver Memory Seat, which automatically adjusts to each driver’s preferred seating position. Other practical features include rain-sensing wipers which automatically get activated in the advent of a rare regional downpour; and headlamps which turn on automatically when dark conditions are encountered such as when driving through tunnels. Rear parking sensors are also fitted.
...With first class dynamic performances
The Renault Safrane’s 16-inch aluminum wheels announce the car’s dynamic potential as do an exclusive trim, bumper grill with satin-grey garnish and a rear spoiler. The new stress-free sedan also boasts a 4-spoke sporty steering wheel for dynamic driving.

In addition to the V6 2.3 litre (5-speed automatic transmission + manual mode), which delivers a smooth 170 ps at 6,000 rpm, comes the brand new 2.0 litre 4-cylinder from the Renault-Nissan Alliance in which torque and fuel economy are the highest among its peers at 196Nm and 9,3l/100km respectively (automatic transmission).
The Renault Safrane’s 2,0 litre petrol engine only weights 103 kilograms. The secret behind this engine’s reduced weight can be found in the application of innovative technology which includes special materials for the intake manifold and locker cover and the use of stainless steel for the exhaust manifold. In addition, a new balance shaft system means that the vehicle’s housing structure incorporates the oil pump and pan as a single part, which also helps to reduce size and weight. Renault Samsung Motors’ Busan plant has been manufacturing the engine since May 2006 and is sold worldwide.
The new Renault Safrane offers an exclusive driving experience thanks to its cutting-edge engine electronic controls. CVTC (Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control), ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) systems have been employed to offer superior performance and to ensure that the driver has complete control over the vehicle’s manoeuvres in any condition. A finely-tuned suspension system facilitates dynamic driving, which fully caters to the driver’s intentions.
A Renault car - a safe and environmentally-friendly car
As expected from any Renault model, active and passive safety equipment is impressive throughout and includes ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), on top of ESC and no less than six airbags - including side and curtain - which are controlled through sensors located in the seatbelts and elsewhere in the cabin. These are programmed to take into account the nature of any impact and the condition of the driver and occupants.
The Renault Safrane’s seatbelts also feature load limiters and traveler safety is further ensured with active protection headrests.
Child safety has also been taken into account with ISOFIX fixations (allowing ISOFIX seats to be fixed at the rear seats) and safe windows (preventing any accident as the window stops moving up when hurting something).
Driver and passenger health has also been given great importance especially during the manufacturing of each Safrane car. Lead substances in parts such as brake pads, light bulbs and adhesives have been eliminated and the vehicle’s exterior paint has been replaced with a water-based solution. Renault Safrane is manufactured in the ISO 14 001 certified Busan plant: this certification guaranties that constant improvement is made to reduce the environmental impact of industrial activity.
As well as promoting traveler well-being, these considerations are also an extension of Renault’s global philosophy of environmental friendliness.<
Here’s another hatch that Europe gets to tease the U.S. with. Renault has not been bringing cars to the United States for almost 20 years now. In that time they’ve put out some cars we may wish we’d had, including this new Renault Sport Twingo. The new car is based on the everyday Twingo, but it is given a 1.6-liter engine that puts out 133 horsepower. That kind of power in a tiny car combined with a sport chassis can make for a cool little car. If the car were sold here, the current exchange rate would put the price at around $23,000.
Enjoy some video of performance driver training given by Renault. The French company offers a training school for new owners for the reasonable price of €1.
Renault reveals its Sherpa in two new versions. The Sherpa concept, claimed as the French equivalent of the American Hummer, was developed as a light 4x4 military truck dedicated to projection and intervention units. The new versions aim to achieve popularity also through the civilian market where the Hummer is pretty famous.
The Sherpa 2 provides in one version 4 seats for passengers, offering a payload of 2 to 3 tons and the Sherpa 3 is a two-seater pick-up featuring 10’ flat bed supporting a total payload of 4.1 tons. Both models get a Euro 4 turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine capable of 215 HP at 2,300rmp. The truck can reach a top speed of 120 km/h on a flat road surface while its autonomy at a cruising speed of 70 km/h is 900km.
Renault is planning to relaunch the Alpine brand, but faithful TopSpeed readers already knew that. What is new is that the future Alpine might be based on the future Nissan 370Z. According to CarTribe, when the next Alpine debuts in November at the L.A. Auto Show, it will use the Infiniti G37 Coupe/Nissan 370Z underpinnings. This is a logical step considering Nissan’s FM platform is the basis for almost all of Nissan’s rear-wheel drive cars including the GT-R, and Renault has an alliance with Nissan.
The FM platform is designed to move the engine back in the chassis, which offers good weight distribution. The Alpine brand is known for weight reduction as well as performance engines, which is a good thing because the FM platform is also known to be a little heavier than the competition. Production should begin before 2012.
The Megane R26.R made its official debut just two days ago at the British Motor Show. Now can watch the race-inspired car in action at the Nürburgring race track where the R26.R established a new record with a lap time of 8m 17s.
Megane R26.R is powered by the same 2.0 Turbo engine as Megane F1 Team R26 which is mated to a manual six-speed gearbox with a shorter linkage for even quicker gearshifts. The engine boasts peak power of 230hp and torque of 310Nm.
