Roadster cars are convertible compact sport cars, more or less luxurious but with a bold look and providing lots of feedback to the driver. they are the fun fast cars by excellence

BMW has chosen the British market to launch two new models for the Z4 line-up. The new Z4 sDrive20i and Z4 sDrive28i continue a tradition of over 80 years started by the 3/15 PA Wartburg Roadster back in 1930. It was a memorable car thanks to its setback glasshouse and front engine rear-wheel-drive configuration with the two seats positioned close to the rear axle.

The Z4 sDrive20i is powered by a four-cylinder engine with an output of 184 HP and 199 lb-ft of torque. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 146 mph. For the sDrive28i, the total output has been increased to 245 HP. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

The Z4 sDrive20i will be offered in Space Grey metallic paintwork and will be equipped with 17" light alloy Star-spoke style 290 wheels and is priced at £29,480.00 ($40,172 at the current rates). The sDrive28i gets a Black Sapphire metallic paintwork with 18" Star-spoke style 325M light alloy wheels and is priced at £33,645.00 ($45,848 at the current rates).

Everyone knows that Lotus has very big plans for the future. With a new Esprit and new generations for every existing model in the line-up the company seems to be pretty busy. But during a recent interview with AutoEvolution, Lotus CEO Dany Bahar has offered an even more exciting news: the legendary Seven prepares for a come-back.

During the interview, Bahar said: "I’ve seen some drawings [of the Seven revival] and they look very nice, we have to see. It’s always possible, it’s just a matter of timing." And that statement comes as a confirmation to lots of rumors about a possible Seven revival.

Apparently, a new Seven "would fit perfectly in the automaker’s new range, being the final element that would really allow it to offer something for every kind of speed enthusiasts."

The original Seven has been built by Lotus from 1957 to 1972 as a small, simple, lightweight two-seater open-top sports car. After Lotus ended production of the Seven, Caterham bought the rights to it.

The return of classic auto brand Morgan is coming with the rebirth of some of its classic vehicles. We’ve already touched on reincarnated versions for some of their old model line-up, including the highly-anticipated Three-Wheeler .

Fast forward to today and we just got word that another old-school Morgan will be making a comeback at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, after a brief hiatus in the retirement block. Discontinued in 2004 after being born in 1968, the Plus 8 has an enduring appeal that very few cars can boast of, further emphasizing the car’s stature as one of Morgan’s all-time classics.

Details behind the reincarnated Plus 8 are still being kept under wraps, but a few details about the car have already leaked out, including the addition of modern components to go with the retro-futuristic styling and a choice of eight exterior finishes as well as an interior that will carry a multitude of wood-finished options. But the most important piece of news surrounding the new Plus 8 is the expected price tag its going to carry. In this case, the facelifted Plus 8 will cost £71,000, which is around $112,000 based on current exchange rates.

It’s not exactly the most affordable option out on the market, but if the new Plus 8 is being touted as a modern-day version of the classic machine, then the price may very well be justified.

SR Auto Group impressed us with lots of impressive tuning package lately. If you remember just recently we have reported about the Project Deathbolt and the Project Veneto . And today its time to talk about the Project Flashbang based on the BMW Z4 .

The drawing board for Project Flashbang was filled with an abundance of ideas but in the end the tuner decided to go with what felt natural. SR Group is usually a tuner that modifies the least as possible. But with the Z4 they did a little bit more: they have added an AC Schnitzer front aero lip, a new front bumper, a two piece lip spoiler and a rear with a sharper edge.

The package continues with a new set of wheels from Modulare. The B11 model was finished with a gunmetal tint face and gloss black windows. Completing the package was a set of H&R lowering springs.

The Pagani Zonda Roadster F made its debut at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. It was similar to the coupe version, except that it featured a removable carbon fiber roof and canvas side curtains. It was made very clear by Horatio Pagani at that time that it would only be built in 25 units and, unfortunately, the day has come when the final unit has been pieced together.

The last Pagani Zonda F Roadster unit features a full on carbon fiber body colored in purple and black. The interior takes the drama a bit further with pink leather and carbon trim.

Under the hood, the Zonda F Roadster features the same 7.3 liter Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine that delivers a total of 680 HP. The hypercar weighs only 2711 lbs and makes the 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Top speed halts at an impressive 214 mph.

Now that Pagani has closed the chapter on the Zonda F, they will switch their focus to the new Huayra , and all of its intended variations .

Project Kahn , a British tuning firm with eyes for Land Rover models, has switched its focus this time around to take a look at the brand new Mercedes SLK 200 Blue Efficiency. The tuner’s new package works on adding more power to improve performance and provide a unique sense of motor supremacy.

To achieve this, Project Kahn began with a full AMG sport pack, including front and rear bumpers and side skirts. The black exterior finish is molded into something a little more spectacular with a matte black and carbon finished grille, carbon front splitters, red calipers, matte black side vents, brushed aluminum roll bars, and a remote control roof. The interior was only slightly tweaked with a black and red quilted leather interior.

As for the engine upgrade, Kahn opted for a Brabus engine with a powerful, supercharged four-cylinder that increases the output by 30 HP and a plug-and-play auxiliary control module that adds another 26 HP. This brings the total output up to 240 HP. The Mercedes was then given a lowered suspension and a Kahn exhaust, as well as a 7g Tronic 7 speed automatic transmission.

The Mercedes SLK 200 Blue Efficiency by Project Kahn is priced at about £42,875, or about $58,854 at the current rates, give or take any additional modifications the customer chooses.

Alfa Romeo stopped production of their Spider model in 2010, but a leaked internal document has revealed that the Spider will be headed back intot he scene in 2014. The new Spider will be one of the models Alfa Romeo will offer as part of their return to the US market, an obvious move considering the Spider’s previous success on our side of the pond.

The 2014 Alfa Romeo Spider will take its design inspiration from the 2uettottanta revealed by Pininfarina at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. However, unlike the 2uettottanta Concept, the production version Spider will have to adopt a more "road-going" design language. This will include the addition of bigger and higher headlamps with LED lights, as opposed to the previously used in the concept. Larger air intakes will also be added, among other things.

As for the engine options, Alfa Romeo may choose to use a four-cylinder turbocharged engine featuring Multi-Air infusion system with direct injection. There are also rumors stating that the next Spider may get a V-6 twin-turbo engine.

The previous Spider has been long criticized for its non-sporty appearance, but the new model will solve that problem, becoming a very serious competitor for models like the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes-Benz SLK .

UPDATE 11/18/2011: According to Auto Express, the long-rumored two-seater Alfa Romeo sports car will have one model in its sights when the car finally hits production: the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Seeing as the MX-5 is considered the holy grail of two-seater sports cars, Alfa Romeo definitely has its work cut out for them if they hope to even get a sniff of the rarefied air the MX-5 enjoys.

Alfa Romeo’s focus with Spyder is to develop a vehicle with a minimal total weight and compact dimensions. It will be built on a totally new chassis that will feature weight-saving technologies to help it weigh less than 2200 lbs, or about 220 lbs lighter than the current MX-5. For the engine, Alfa Romeo has borrowed a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit, detuned to a total of 150 HP.

The new Spyder is rumored to be priced at around $40K.

Jaguar C-XE
Jaguar C-XE

Before the C-X16 Concept ever made it to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show with an aim "to set new class benchmarks in design, vehicle dynamics and technology," there were already rumors circulating that Jaguar was working on a new XE model. Recently, an XE prototype was caught testing with a design language similar to that of the C-X16, cementing the idea that the concept was just a starting off point to gauge interest in the new sports car.

The XE prototype was seen with a soft top, as opposed to the retractable hard top that was first thought to be featured. This, as well as the rest of the design language, falls in line with all of the latest Jaguar models, but advances with the look of the C-X16. The XE will be available in Coupe and Roadster models. They will be built on the same platform as the XK , so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the same package from the XKR-S in the upcoming model. As for the engine lineup, the XE will feature a range of V6 engines, and a V8 for the top R version.

Expect the new XE model to be launched sometime next year as a direct competitor for models like the Porsche 911 .
