Roadster cars are convertible compact sport cars, more or less luxurious but with a bold look and providing lots of feedback to the driver. they are the fun fast cars by excellence

Following in the introduction of the Dartz Mojo roadster, Russian automaker Dartz has released the first renderings of the Mojo’s "cooler" brother, the Jo-Mojo.

Built in collaboration with Gray Design, the Jo-Mojo is an electric roadster that comes with an aggressive design and highlighted by a chameleon paint finish, custom seats, and patented bullet wheels. In addition, the Jo-Mojo also has a unique retractable cover that features flexible solar cells created by former Soviet space manufacturers, Sidrabe. What the cover does is charge up the electric roadster while its sitting idly under the Cote d’Azur sun.

As far as performance numbers are concerned, the Dartz Jo-Mojo is powered by an electric motor that produces 80 horsepower and 90 lb/ft of torque. The numbers might look puny to some, but considering its purpose, the Jo-Mojo can still accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 125 mph.

Just like the Mojo, the Dartz Jo-Mojo is expected to make its world debut at the 2012 Top Marques Monaco in April. Details of this little bullet-proof bug are set to be revealed then. For now, you can check out the first renderings of the Jo-Mojo, as well as a new presentation video of the electric roadster.

The Varley Electric Vehicles evR450 announced a few days ago is no longer the only electric supercar from Australia. Ian Denner has announced a new electric roadster that sounds very promising. Called Arcspeed Electric Roadster, this particular car started its life back in 2006 when it was intend to be produced in limited number, but as a gasoline-power car.

Back then Denner dropped the idea and later on he came with the idea of transforming the roadster into an electric one. The Roadster uses in fact the same powertrain as the evR450: two electric motors, each with 210 HP and 385 lb-ft of torque for a total output of 420 HP and 770 lb-ft of torque. The electric motors will take their power from a battery pack that consists of 500 individual lithium-ion phosphate batteries mounted in the cockpit floor. Also, just like with the evR450 the Roadster will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Denner hopes to put the car into limited production series and to price it less than $100,000.

Anabolicar Magazine is one of Germany’s biggest supercar magazines so obviously, they had to have a presence at the just finished 2011 Essen Motor Show. What we didn’t know was that they were bringing a humdinger of a project in the form of a tuned-up BMW Z4 .

The show car, which was built specifically for the purpose of displaying it at Essen, comes with plenty of aerodynamic and performance enhancements that compliments the M Package the car already has. The exterior of the Z4 is highlighted by a Green reptile skin finish that was worked on by KK-Cocoon. In addition to that, the Z4 Anabolicar also has a new KW coil-over suspension, an Eisenmann exhaust system, a lowered M-chassis, and a new set of black, 19" OZ Racing alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the modifications for the interior include new M sports seats, a new M steering wheel, and a voice activated navigation system.

Under the hood of the Z4 Anabolicar lies a 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder engine that produces 265 horsepower. All that juice wrapped up in a fancy aesthetic dress results in a sports car that stole the show at the 2011 Essen Motor Show. Then again, we really shouldn’t have expected anything less from one of Germany’s biggest supercar magazines.

The Ferrari California isn’t the newest model in Ferrari ’s line-up, so there typically isn’t any reason to splatter news about it on the front page. That is, until a celebrity decides to do a little Black Friday shopping in a Ferrari dealership.

Paris Hilton has chosen a bright red Ferrari California as an early Christmas present for herself and, although we think the 460 HP California is an amazing supercar, we have to wonder why she opted for this particular model and not for Ferrari’s newest roadster model: the 570 HP 459 Italia Spyder . Maybe she’s had her fill of the super speedy since she just received a 560 HP Lexus LF-A for her 30th birthday . Or maybe she just got a really good Black Friday deal. Either way, this beautiful, red Ferrari California has just joined the elite group of amazing vehicles owned by Hilton’s princess.

German tuning company Brabus has been quite the busy bees the past couple of months, haven’t they?

It was only a few months ago at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show that they introduced two new models to their line-up: the 2012 Brabus Rocket 800 and the 2011 Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric Concept Car . Then, they followed that up at the recently concluded Dubai Motor Show with the release of the 2012 Mercedes CL 800 Coupe by Brabus.

And now that the 2011 Essen Motor Show is knocking at the door, it appears that we’re going to get a couple more new programs courtesy of the noted Merceedes tuning company, including one for the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.
Official details behind the car have not yet been announced but the word out on the street is that it will be similar to the program given to the SLS AMG, particularly the prevalent use of carbon fiber, lightweight forged wheels, a new electronically adjustable suspension system, and of course, a performance boost that should take the output of the SLS AMG Roadster straight into the neighborhood of 700 horsepower.

The only indication we have of this new program comes courtesy of a pair of official images that have been revealed leading up to its debut at the 2011 Essen Motor Show. Check back with us soon because as soon as the car is revealed, we’ll be on top of it with all the official details.

Ferrari SA Aperta

If Ferrari considers themselves an automaker with exclusive clientele, they do so knowing that despite catering to a relatively small market, the people who buy Ferraris are a loyal and well-spending bunch.

The problem isn’t so much as the supply of the cars as it is the demand it generates. And apparently, a lot of Ferrari enthusiasts are chirping about not getting their hands on some of the latest special edition models, especially after the small run of 80 Ferrari SA Apertas were sold out before many had the chance to get their hands on one. This became such an issue that it has prompted Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo to think about opening an exclusive club for these die-hard fellas.

"I do not want our faithful collectors to miss the opportunity to buy one of our special series," he said to Auto News.

The whole point of this ultra-exclusive club is to give its members the right of first refusal as far as limited edition Ferrari models are concerned. Not that we’re hoping for an invite, but if we can show our vast collection of Ferrari die-cast models, does that mean we’re in?

In all seriousness, this club is expected to be limited to a certain number of members where you can expect a very stringent screening process to determine who qualifies to get keys to this club and who gets left out. Potential members may need to own about five or more Ferrari models, which Ferrari says only totals about 300 collectors worldwide. This exclusive loyalty club will be much smaller than the existing Ferrari clubs, which total about 13,000 members in more than 30 countries.

Montezemolo is also putting together an annual sightseeing and driving event for collectors called the “Ferrari Cavalcade.” This event will occur once a year and will take 120 of the club members to different regions of Italy so they can understand the country and brand that make their precious cars. Event attendees will also be able to drive Ferrari’s Fiorano test track in Maranello and Florence’s historic race track il Mugello.

Alfa Romeo Spider

Alfa Romeo has been rumored to be working on a new SUV for the 2013 model year , but since going big isn’t exactly the trend anymore, new rumors have surfaced that the Italian automaker is developing a small roadster. The new Alfa Romeo Spider is being considered a successor for the Brera Spider that was produced between 2006 and 2010 and is rumored to be priced at around $40K. When it debuts, it will be ready to take on the likes of the Mazda MX-5 .

Alfa Romeo’s focus with Spyder is to develop a vehicle with a minimal total weight and compact dimensions. It will be built on a totally new chassis that will feature weight-saving technologies to help it weigh less than 2200 lbs, or about 220 lbs lighter than the current MX-5. For the engine, Alfa Romeo has borrowed a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit, detuned to a total of 150 HP.

The Alfa Romeo Spider will be offered on the US market, along with the 4C and the 159 , an obvious move considering the Spider’s previous success on our side of the pond.

It’s been a while since we last heard from Daihatsu so it was a bit surprising to find out that the Japanese automaker actually attended the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show with a concept called the D-X, pronounced d-cross. And to make things better for these guys, the concept actually looks good!

We don’t have an answer as far as a production future for the D-X Concept is concerned, although it appears that Daihatsu is promoting it as a Transformers-inspired vehicle that can take the shape of a number of vehicles, including a convertible, a roadster, a sporty van, and even a race car. Talk about taking versatility to a whole new level.

The D-X has a base look that can be shifted in a variety of different ways to suit the driver’s preference. Under its hood, the concept runs on a .66-liter two-cylinder engine that comes with direct injection and turbocharging technology. The words ’turbocharging’ and ’Daihatsu’ are about as likely to be put on the same sentence as Pintos and Ferrari Ferrari s, but the mere fact that it is actually speaks volumes to the strides Daihatsu is making in turning a new leaf for their company.

If you’ve never heard of German tuning company, SchwabenFolia, then you’re not alone. Having said that, they sure did a heck of a job introducing themselves to the tuning world with a unique program for the Wiesmann MF5 V10.

The exterior work done on the car underscores the name it was given - Black Bat. It is highlighted by a matte black finish with foil covers on the door panels, inner hood, engine room, and trunk. The stealthy finish on the exterior of the MF5 V10 is further complimented by a new set of 20" forged wheels painted in black wrapped in high performance tires with 6-piston calipers and discs on the front and 4-piston calipers and discs on the rear from Brembo.

As for the engine, SchwabenFolia managed to tweak the MF5 V10’s already powerful BMW -sourced 5.0-liter V10 engine, thanks to a new dual exhaust stainless steel sports exhaust system, a 3-way catalytic converter, and a reconstructed air filtration system. The result is a performance boost that saw the output of the sports car rise from 560 horsepower all the way up to 600 horsepower with a 0-62 mph time of just 3.5 seconds and an increased top speed of 201 mph.

Very impressive work, SchwabenFolia!
