The Rolls Royce Wraith->ke1710 is the fastest and most powerful Roller to ever see production, thanks to a V-12 being fed by two turbochargers that pushes this luxury->ke505 barge's output to 633 horsepower. It doesn’t look like Rolls Royce->ke74 is stopping there either. We just got spy shots of what appears to be a Wraith Sport, complete with revised aero work and a rear spoiler.

This is our first shot of the test mule so we don’t know much, but expect a stiffer suspension setup, perhaps a touch of weight loss, and maybe even a bit more power. Considering this car still wears a Rolls Royce badge I wouldn’t expect bare floorboards and 700 horsepower, but there will be sports enhancements to make this new machine more competitive with the Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Surprisingly, it almost looks like Rolls Royce was trying to hide this new car in plain sight, as there is no real camouflage on it at all. Thankfully, our spy photos are smarter than the boys from Sussex gave them credit for.

You can see more photos of the newer, hotter Wraith after the jump.

Competitors

Bentley Continental GT Speed

The most obvious competitor for the faster version of the Rolls Royce Wraith, is Bentley’s faster version of the Continental GT. Dubbed the GT Speed, this Bentley comes loaded with a 626 horsepower, twin-turbocharged, W-12 engine. With 605 pounds of twist on tap, this AWD machine can almost turn the world backwards. Power levels on the GT Speed may be less than the standard Wraith already, but with a much lower weight, the GT Speed is definitely faster than the heavy Roller.

These two storied nameplates have always been rivals, but since Volkswagen took over Bentley, the marque has slowly morphed into a sporting nameplate while Rolls Royce remained stagnant in the market. This has given Bentley the advantage of name recognition in the market of buyers looking for this type of machine. It will take a mighty impressive car for Rolls Royce to shake off its reputation as a brand made for old money.

Ferrari F12berlinetta

If all you are really after is a fast and comfortable coupe, the Ferrari F12 is essentially in a league all its own. It has some of the finest leather work you will find anywhere, and with its naturally aspirated, V-12 engine sending well over 700 horsepower to the rear wheels, you will be hard pressed to find anything faster. It may not be on the top of the luxury-barge list, but the Ferrari badge carries as much prestige as any other brand on the market.

In this segment, the badge on the nose has just as much to do with the sale as anything else. Ferrari is a hard badge to ignore. This segment also thrives on combining the greatest levels of sport with the greatest levels of luxury. The F12 may not be as comfortable as the Wraith, but when it comes to pure luxury and pure performance, the Ferrari is easily comparable to anything the Roller can provide.
