Saleen announced that it intends to unveil a special Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang at the New York Auto Show next week. No images of the vehicle are available (the image above it’s a Saleen Musatang GTR, 2005), but Saleen did reveal the collector’s coupe would be packing a 370-hp V8 and that the styling would harken back to the 1970s.
Since the company’s inception in 1984, Saleen has produced over 10,000 complete and EPA certified vehicles, more than any other specialty manufacturer. In addition, Saleen has equipped more than 600,000 vehicles worldwide, further emphasizing their commitment to excellence.
We race today because racing is part and parcel of the Saleen corporate DNA. Weve raced and won championships with our Mustangs since the beginning and the S7 was conceived to combine the performance of a track-only race car with the driving pleasure of a road car.
Saleen, Inc., a specialty vehicle manufacturer for 17 years, has created the first true American supercar with the launch of the Saleen S7. The S7 is designed to compete with the fastest, quickest, best handling, most luxurious grand touring cars in the world, while providing a distinctly American driving experience for the fortunate few who will own one.
The 2005 S281 is Saleen’s first all-new car in this market segment since they began manufacturing automobiles more than two decades ago. And by ’new’, that means changes are more than skin deep. There is an all-new all-aluminum 281-cubic-inch 3-valve V8 matched to a slick-shifting 5-speed manual gearbox. The suspension is totally new with an advanced MacPherson strut design up front and a three-link live rear axle with a Panhard rod at the rear. The improvements in handling have to be driven to be believed.
What an exciting addition to the latest Saleen offering! With distinctive European rally car styling matched with Saleen-proven performance, the Saleen N20 Focus the first of its kind direct from the manufacturer. A true “nitrous ready” solution is available for those who want more out of the modest Focus. And underneath this quiet exterior, lurks a 250hp sleeping giant, which only Saleen could make it happen.
