The Spanish automaker Seat just unveiled the third version of the Ibiza lineup at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Even if it is just in concept form, the all new Ibiza Concept, Ibz, will make it to production in 2010. The new Ibiza features a distinctive exterior as well as interior design and benefits from the use of cutting edge technology to create a gripping driving experience.

Up front the Ibz concept features design details like a forward sloping hood, honeycomb center grill complete with aluminum surround, wide mouth front bumper and diamond shaped headlights filled with bright LED lighting. The Spanish speaking section of Volkswagen also added a set of 19 inch alloy wheels, each with an embossed ‘S’ in the center cap and a sporty high mount roof spoiler out back.

The interior of the Ibz concept is covered in the creamy color “Magnolia” and comes with a newly designed set of bucket seats that lead into the sporty design of the instrument panel as well as the four circular air vents on the dashboard that are encased in aluminum. The Seat Ibz concept is a forward thinking design stud that adds a previously unseen level of style and sophistication for the Spanish Golf.

Bocanegra or “black mouth” in its native tongue was first used to describe the Spanish automaker SEAT’s 1200 Sport back in 1975. It was an affordable coupe with a striking blacked out front end. SEAT resurrected the nickname when they unveiled their Ibiza Bocanegra concept car at the Geneva Motor Show, today’s model, with upgraded technology and styling has just made its debut at the Barcelona Motor Show.

Gone are the R8 inspired wheels, brakes and LED style headlamps. However what’s left ain’t too shabby either. The physical upgrades to the SEAT hatch are a wide mouth front bumper, blacked out double projector headlamps and a reflective black plastic piece that ties the front end together. Housed inside of the blistered arches are a set of 17 inch Sira alloys. Inside the driver sits in some of the most stylish seats ever to be placed in a SEAT. This is one compact that is well deserving of the name hot-hatch, the Bocanegra will be powered by Volkswagen’s twin charged 1.4 Liter TSI engine, pumping out either 150 or 180 HP.

The SEAT Ibiza is Spain’s version of the Volkswagen Golf, and the budget minded five seater will be celebrating a quarter of a century with a special edition for the Barcelona International Motor Show. The 25th anniversary Ibiza will be available in either the sport coupe or 5 door bodies powered by a very economical 1.4 Liter four cylinder making 85 HP or a 105 HP 1.9 Liter TDI engine. Standard equipment consists of air conditioning, tinted windows, 17 inch rims and USB connectivity. The special edition is easily recognizable from the exterior thanks to unique “25th Anniversary” badges.

Seat added a new version to its Ibiza line-up: the 1.6 TDI CR engine in both its 5-door and SC versions. It will be available starting June.

The new engine develops 90 hp and will be placed between the current 80 hp 1.4 TDI and 105 hp 1.9 TDI engines and replaces the 90 hp 1.9 TDI engine. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The new engine has a fuel consumption of only 4.2 l/100 km and an emission level of 109 g/km.

Seat will unveil at the Barcelona Motor Show the Ibiza FR, the latest addition to the Ibiza line-up. It is powered by a twin charger 1.4 TSI engine that delivers 150 hp mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox with steering wheel shift paddles.

The Ibiza FR features new bumpers that lend a more aggressive appearance, featuring front honeycomb slats and a chrome surround on the central grille in combination with the Arrow Design concept. The FR version comes with silver colored door mirrors, 17" rims and twin tailpipe.

Standard equipment includes: ESP, TCS + EBA, ABS, Hill Hold Control, low tyre pressure warning, driver and passenger airbags, head-chest airbag, trip computer, cruise control, climate control, CD radio with MP3 + 6 speakers + Aux-in connection, sports suspension and cornering foglights, among other elements.

Seat revealed today the first official images of the Ibiza SportCoupe that will make its world debut at the London Motor Show in July.

The Ibiza SportCoupe will be powered by 105 hp 1.6 liter engine mated by the new seven-speed DSG gearbox. This new, twin-clutch automatic transmission provides the Ibiza with greater acceleration. Besides, this system produces remarkable fuel consumption, since the seventh gear is ideal for long motoring trips.

The new three-door Ibiza has a length of 4.034 meters and mere 1.428 meter height to match its temperament, lending the car agility and comfort both in the city and on the motorway.

The new Ibiza SportCoupe will be manufactured exclusively at SEAT’s Martorell factory near Barcelona and will be available in three trim levels – Reference, Stylance and Sport, with an outstanding standard equipment list from the entry-level model. In the near future, the model’s ecological ECOMOTIVE, FR and Cupra versions will also make their appearance.

The Seat Bocanegra Concept is more than a year old, but now the production version will be the star the Barcelona Motor Show in May. The car is expected to be a Ibiza Cupra variation with the 1.4 TSI from the VW family - here it makes an impressive 174 hp. What does this mean for the average carbuyer? Seat UK added a new special edition to its line-up: the new special edition Ibiza Black. It will be limited to only 150 units, each priced at £12,345.

Based on the already elegant Ibiza 5dr 1.4 Sport, the new special edition adds unique front and rear bumpers, side skirts, striking tailgate roof spoiler and arch-filling 17” alloys. There are also dark tinted rear windows and, of course, that eye-catching paint job: Black Magic metallic.

The Ibiza Black is powered by a 1.4-litre 85 PS petrol engine mated to a smooth and precise five-speed manual gearbox. A top speed of 108 mph and 0-62 mph time of 12.2 seconds sits alongside combined CO2 emissions of just 149 g/km and impressive combined fuel economy of 45.6 mpg.

Seat Ibiza revealed today a new special edition Ibiza SC. This special edition is called Color Edition and is being offered with Lumina Orange or Galia Blue colours.

The Color Edition versions are only available in the Sport finish and with the following engine choices – the 85 hp 1.4 and 105 hp 1.6 petrol engines and the 90 hp and 105 hp 1.9 TDI Diesel versions.

The Lumina Orange package includes 17 inch “Saga” alloy rims, dark glass, Mágico Black roof and park position door mirrors, Lumina Orange interior inserts, Carbón Black steering wheel spokes and orange stitching on the steering wheel and front seats.

The Galia Blue version features 17 inch “Saga” rims, dark glass, Candy White roof, park position door mirrors and grille surround, body blue interior inserts, Carbón Black steering wheel spokes and blue stitching on the steering wheel and front seats.

Seat is known for providing economical cars for the markets its sold to (not the U.S.) So if you bought one of these Volkswagens-on-a-budget, the German tuner JE Design is betting that you have a little money left over to customize the car. They have now introduced a customization kit for the Ibiza Sports Coupe 3-door and 5-door.

The new package features a front spoiler, sport radiator grill, center-mounted trapezoidal tailpipe, headlight eyebrows, side skirts, roof spoiler and a rear bumper apron attachment with carbon look. The biggest visual element is the LSD wing doors, which open in a Lamborghini-like manner.

The second Ibiza version launched this week by Seat is Ecomotive, the most ecological car of its segment (CO2 emission is just 99 g/km). Official debut will be made at the Paris Auto Show.

Available in both the 5-door and SportCoupé versions, the Ibiza Ecomotive is equipped with a three cylinder 80 hp 1.4 TDI with DPF particulate filter which not only allows the engine to reduce emissions under the 100 g/km mark, but also reduces fuel consumption.
