2006 Seat Toledo

The SEAT Toledo range has grown with the addition of the new 170 hp 2.0 TDI version. Priced from 26,668 euros, it is already available in the SEAT commercial network.

It has been developed based on the 103 kW (140 hp) 2.0 TDI version. The new engine features a power output of 125 kW (170 hp), maximum torque of 350 Nm(258 lb/ft) at 1800 rpm, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with specific gear progression. The engine’s turbocompressor geometry has been improved and high-pressure injection has been added to the direct diesel injection system with the PPD Piezo-Pumpe-Düse piezo-electric injection system. It fully complies with Euro IV emission regulations, and is also equipped with the maintenance-free DPF diesel particulate filter system.

Similar acceleration and in-gear acceleration on this new Toledo version can be found on sporty vehicles equipped with a petrol engine. With a top speed of 211 km/h(131 mph), it requires 8.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h(62 mph) from standstill, 8.9 seconds to accelerate from 50 to 75 mph in fifth and 11.4 seconds in sixth gear. But its diesel engine values become apparent when gauging consumption – 8.0 litres in the urban cycle, 5.2 litres on the extra urban cycle and 6.2 litres combined.

Although the chassis has not undergone any changes, this model features larger, specific brakes, and both available versions, Stylance and Sport-up, include stiffer suspensions to match the engine’s greater power and performance output.

Top of the line equipment as standard

The SEAT Toledo pays special attention to functionality. Besides its extensive equipment level, it is the only saloon that can boast having a modular interior. Its interior roominess is enhanced by the largest boot in its category, with a capacity that goes from 500 to 601 litres thanks to rear seats that slide forward 14 cm.

The Stylance trim level equips the Toledo with standard features such as 16” light alloy seven-spoke wheels, leather steering wheel and gear lever knob, on-board computer, cruise control, volumetric alarm, coming and leaving home function, bi-xenon headlamps, rain sensor, automatic lights-on sensor, automatic anti-dazzle rear-view mirror, parking sensor, MP3 CD player with steering-wheel mounted controls and dual-zone climatiser.

A complete list of safety equipment includes ABS, TCS, switchable ESP, EBA emergency braking aid, driver and switchable passenger airbag, side and curtain airbags, electro-mechanical power steering with DSR dynamic steering response, multi-link rear axel and Isofix anchoring points for child seats in the rear. All the passive safety features on the SEAT Toledo have warranted the highest EuroNcap rating for passenger safety – five stars.

Sport-up is the sportiest, best-equipped version of the Toledo 170 hp range. Building on the Stylance trim level, it adds sports seats, a specific interior styling and 225/45 tyres on 17” wheels.

A long list of optional elements complements the already extensive array of standard equipment, including a rear-seat multi-purpose drawer, dark glass, normal size spare wheel in the two-tier boot, dynamic navigation system, electric anti-trap glass sunroof, heated seats, Bluetooth telephone installation, 6 CD changer in the front armrest and metallic paint, among others.
