A sedan car is a four-door vehicle, with a separate hood covering the engine in the front, and a separate trunk for luggage at the rear — the achetypical 3-box car. However, other variations of the body style exist as well, including two-door and hatchback/fastback models.

Okay, we’ve seen Porsche , BMW and Audi all experimenting with hybrid and electric cars , which is okay. But now things are getting a little more upscale in the electrification of luxury cars to help boost mpgs without losing performance and comfort. The latest of the entrants is Bentley with its Beijing-bound Hybrid Concept, which is little more than an electrified and copper-accented Mulsanne . Hey, if you’re gonna reveal a new hybrid engine, then why not show it off in your flagship sedan?

The details are still a little scarce on the Hybrid Concept, but Bentlry did let us in on a few details. We know that the hybrid drivetrain will carry the same 6.75-liter V-8 gas burner as the base model, but with electric motors added to boost fuel economy and output, while decreasing CO2 emissions. According to Bentley, this drivetrain bumps fuel economy up by 25 percent and guts CO2 by 70 percent.

What’s more, this drivetrain is in Bentley’s future plans, and it will slowly make its way into every Bentley vehicle.

we expect to hear more about the car following its debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 20th.

With so many models on offer these days and more to come in the future, you’d think that BMW has nowhere to expand anymore. I mean, how many niches can you invent?

Besides Smart -like city cars and pickup trucks , the Munich-based company covered just about everything so far. While trucks are definitely a "no-no", we wouldn’t be surprised is BMW rolls out three-cylinder-engined city car sometime in the future.

Meanwhile, it appears that the Germans are looking to expand their lineup in the opposite direction. As we’ve previously reported, BMW is about to get bigger at the Beijing Auto Show , where a concept car is set to preview the company’s upcoming 9 Series sedan.

It might seem like a crazy idea for BMW to launch a direct competitor to the Rolls-Royce Ghost . However the 9 Series is likely to open new market opportunities for the manufacturer, who’s obviously looking to give the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman a run for its money using a less audacious marque.

Expected to arrive sometime in 2016, the 9 Series will be underpinned by BMW’s new, lightweight G11 modular platform, which was initially developed for the next-generation 7 Series . Stretching it a bit for that mandatory extra room in the back won’t be a problem, as the Germans have plenty of experience with their previous elongated 7 Series sedans.

Design-wise, the new flagship will receive a number of styling features seen on the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe concept, but a few cues borrowed from the 7 Series are also in the books.

Tesla’s legal team has yet another case added to their already cluttered desks as the self-described "King of Lemon Laws" attorney Vince Megna files a suit against the California automaker with allegations of a defective product. Already contending with the New Jersey car sales ban fiasco, Tesla must now confront the auto industry’s most notorious lawyer and his Franklin, Wisconsin-based client.

The issues apparently started when Megna’s client purchased a Tesla Model S in March of 2013 for a cool $98,000. Shortly after delivery, the car had troubles starting and holding a charge. With no dealers around, the car had to be towed an hour and a half south to Chicago, IL. Over the first five months of ownership, the Model S spent a total of 66 days in the shop.

After attempting to have Tesla buy back the car on three separate occasions — as possible under the Federal government’s Lemon Law — the owners contacted Megna for help.

With a reputation for never going easy on automakers, Megna has been known to make short videos full of ironic humor, wit, and duct tape-wearing paralegals detailing his clients’ cases, just as you can see in the video above.

Be sure to stay tuned to TopSpeed for any developing information on Tesla’s first Lemon Law case.

BMW earlier announced that it will reveal the China-exclusive 7 Series Horse Edition at the Beijing Auto Show , and now it appears that the German automaker is set to use the Asian event to introduce yet another large sedan .The good news is that we won’t see yet another special edition based on the 7 Series, but a brand-new vehicle that will top BMW’s lineup in the future. Yes, we’re talking about something bigger than the aforementioned sedan. A limousine that’s rumored to come alive under the 9 Series moniker.

According to a recent report, the executive four-door will be shown as a concept car in Beijing, with the production model, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2016, to compete against the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman , Stuttgart’s spiritual successor to the Maybach.

The extra-long-wheelbase BMW will share underpinning with the upcoming 7 Series , meaning it will be bolted on BMW’s lightweight G11 modular platform. The 9 Series will borrow styling cues from the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe , also believed so serve as inspiration for an 8 Series revival.

Little else is known about the 9 Series, but if this report turns out to be true, BMW’s new flagship is likely to be positioned alongside the Rolls-Royce Ghost .

There’s a lot of buzz around the upcoming New York Auto Show , which will see vehicles such as the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger , the Acura TLX and the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe , but the Beijing Auto Show , also scheduled this month, promises to be equally interesting.

Besides hosting debuts for concept cars like the Citroen DS 5LS R or Nissan’s new, yet unnamed sedan , the Chinese event will also have an impressive lineup of BMW vehicles on display. Among the new X4 , the 2 Series Active Tourer and the i8 , the Germans are set to unveil a new, special-edition version of the large 7 Series sedan.

Developed specifically for the Chinese market, the new vehicle is dubbed Horse Edition. Now don’t let the name full you, this luxurious land yacht doesn’t come with horseshoes instead of badges or saddles instead of seats. BMW christened it like that to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Horse.

Because it will be sold in China, the 7 Series Horse Edition will be based on the long-wheelbase version of the sedan , and will be equipped with a number of BMW Individual and M Sport features.

Late last year, Citroen unveiled the DS 5LS, a compact sedan specifically developed for the Chinese market. The four-door sports an attractive design, a high-quality interior and turbocharged 1.6-liter engines that deliver up to 200 horsepower. In short, the DS 5LS is among the coolest ten cars we can’t drive in the U.S.

And if that grinds your gears, then it’s time to find out that the French are planning to unveil an even hotter version of the sedan at the upcoming Beijing International Auto Show . It’s been christened DS 5LS R and packed with more power, a more luxurious interior, and wrapped in a sporty body that pays tribute to Citroen’s racing heritage.

No need to blow a fuse yet, the DS 5LS R is only a concept car , at least until the manufacturer says otherwise. However, we do feel the need to stress the fact that Citroen absence from the U.S. market is getting increasingly frustrating as their most impressive offerings are taking the road to China.

Just in time for some weekend daydreaming, Subaru launches its online configurator for the all-new 2015 WRX and WRX STI , though this one doesn’t contain nearly the options a few of the other configurators we’ve recently seen.

What you can chose is one of three trim levels with the standard WRX model and two trim levels with the upgraded WRX STI. With its base price starting at $26,295 the WRX makes a good bargain for someone looking for an AWD car that can handle a leisurely drive one minute and burn up a dirt road the next. Moving upward from there is the WRX Premium, adding a moonroof, fog lights, headed front seats, and a rear spoiler. Topping out the WRX list is the Limited trim which included leather seats, LED headlights, and keyless access and start.

Jumping up to the racier WRX STI gets you many things — the most important of which is the 305-horsepower version of the 2.0-liter, boxer engine. Also included is the driver-controlled center differential and Brembo brakes. The top-dog range topper is the WRX STI Limited. That bad-boy gets leather seats and, more importantly, a set of 18-inch aluminum-alloy BBS wheels. Checking the box for the STI Limited will automatically set you back $38,495. Performance does come at a price.

The breathtaking Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is inching closer to production. That’s a fact! There’s no word when the company will start accepting checks for lightning-fast sedan, but the Japanese automaker have just announced they will be showcasing new footage with the Eau Rouge at the Beijing Auto Show later this month.

Unfortunately, the prototype Infiniti’s performance division has been working on the past months won’t be displayed during the event, but new details, as well as part of the development process, will be revealed in China. Considering what this vehicle has to offer, we can keep our shirts on for a while longer.

While the manufacturer declined to go into specifics in its latest press blast, it did mention that the sports sedan was put through a series of grueling tests at UK’s Millbrook Proving Ground facility.

Trials were carried out by four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel , Infiniti’s Director of Performance and the man behind the beefed up version of the FX that was launched a few years back. You can see the video of these tests above.

Further info will become available on April 20, so make sure you tune in for the full details.

The BMW 3 Series is a global car that appeals to a global audience. Whether its in America, Europe, or in this particular case, South Africa, the 3 Series attracts attention wherever it goes. That’s why BMW South Africa has decided to expand its offering for the beloved 3 Series, giving potential customers a chance to score a special edition 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition.

The limited-edition model is essentially an aerodynamically enhanced 3 Series Sedan that comes with a load of new components to improve both the car’s styling and performance attributes. Maybe that’s the reason why BMW South Africa only has 500 of these bad-boys at its disposal.

Here’s the best part about the 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition. Compared to a standard 3 Series with the same options and separately fitted with the all the M Performance parts, BMW South Africa’s 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition will carry 43 percent of the content if you add all the components separately yourselves.

That says a lot about this special edition 3er that BMW South Africa is offering, and its content is offered all for a price of just R87,000 if it’s fitted at the dealership. That’s $8,175 based on current exchange rates, which is of course, added to the cost of the 3 Series
