Jay Leno has all of the fun, sans his twice being ousted from the Tonight Show, as he sees and drives some of the most amazing cars in the world. This time around, he got a crack at a Brock Coupe .

It shouldn’t be a surprise if this wedge-nosed beast looks a little familiar toy you, as it is the only licensed continuation of the legendary Shelby Daytona Coupe. That’s right, kiddies, this ain’t no kit car right here... This is car has been given the stamp of approval by Carol Shelby himself.

Only about 130 of these continuation cars are known to exist today, so this is certainly one of the rarest models available in the U.S. And this one is even more special, as it was once bought by Shelby, slathered in racing decals from the Shelby Daytona car and put in the Shelby museum in Las Vegan with no engine.

Bruce Goldsmith snagged up the car, got it licensed, then started tearing into it to make it the monster that it is today.

The Shelby Cobra went into production in 1961 and only three years later, Shelby unveiled an FIA version of the car which competed in the 1964 World Manufacturers Championship series. Now, 50 years later, Shelby American is celebrating this great model with the unveiling of a special 50th anniversary model called the CSX7000.

This special Cobra is offered exclusively in Viking Blue with Arctic White FIA stripes and roundels. The interior is trimmed in black combined with special billet anniversary badges and a variety of additional options are offered exclusively at customer’s request.

The new Shelby 289 CSX7000 is limited to only 50 units with prices starting from $94,995 for fiberglass-bodied models and $159,995 for aluminum-bodied models. For both versions prices do not include a drivetrain. Shelby American will show off the CSX7000 this weekend at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The 2015 Ford Mustang was unveiled to the world recently, when Ford showed the pony car to public at launch events that took place at multiple locations around the globe. Ford now plans to expand in to new territories and that includes right-hand-drive markets, like England, Australia and Japan.

The iconic Ford Mustang does have an international fan base, therefore we weren’t taken by surprised to hear that the Mustang would venture outside of the U.S.

At the unveiling, Ford showed us the standard 2015 Mustang along with the 2015 Ford Mustang GT . Like we’ve said before, the styling is simply gorgeous, and we love the way Ford designers have incorporated certain design cues from the classic Mustang into this modern reincarnation.

The gills from the original return in the form of daytime running lights, while the triple-bar taillights are now more three dimensional to the naked eye. With the basic models well outlined, folks are now curious to learn about more power-packed versions of the pony car.

Well, that wait is nearing an end, as today an insider revealed a demo promo order system on dealer-side computer software, which clearly shows a Shelby GT350. This means that though the GT350 will likely return as a dealer-direct package, as opposed to a Shelby aftermarket add-on package. Short of the name, the screen grab doesn’t reveal much else.

To date, Ford has remained mum about the whole thing, as it could be preparing for yet another big event to launch the first of the Shelby cars based on the 2015 Ford Mustang .

We are about to witness the birth of a “brand-new” Mustang , as Ford will reveal the new "Pony car" to world on December 5, 2013. A new era in the glorious history the Mustang will begin with the launch of the sixth-generation Mustang.

One name that can never be forgotten and has ever since been attached with all things Mustang is Shelby . We bet Carol Shelby would’ve been glad to add his personal touches on the new model. Having said that, Shelby American has just announced a range of performance upgrades for the 2014 Ford Mustang , giving the fifth-generation Mustang the sendoff that it deserves.

The latest set of upgrade will allow customers to experience first hand, the expertise of the legendary Carroll Shelby in performance tuning a muscle car that he dedicated his life’s work for.

If you haven’t seen Rush just yet, you still have time get a chance to. In the mean time, you can start daydreaming about another flick that includes an icon in the automotive industry: Carroll Shelby .

Apparently the new movie, titled "Go Like Hell," has in pre-production since 2011, and it will tell the story of the battle between Ford and Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the 1960s.

The new movie will be based on the 2009 book "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and their Battle For Speed and Glory at Le Mans" by A.J. Baime. He is an editor for Playboy Magazine, and managed to write the book based on some extensive interviews with Lloyd Ruby, Mario Andretti and Carol Shelby.

The initial details on the movie suggest that Tom Cruise will play the role of Carroll Shelby in the upcoming movie. Michael Mann and Brad Pitt were also associated with the role, but Cruise was chosen because of his role in another auto-racing movie — "Days Of Thunder" — back in 1990.

We have no other details on the movie, but if the movie gets the final "OK" from the studio, we expect it to arrive sometime in 2015.

Okay, so we all loved the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning from the 1990s and 2000s, but it was never really a useful truck. You couldn’t take it off-road; well, we’ll rephrase that to you shouldn’t have tried taking it off-road; and it wasn’t much for towing either. So, it was basically a sports car with a bed...

After discontinuing the SVT Lightning, following its 2004 run, Ford went to task developing a new SVT pickup that was everything the Lightning wasn’t. And now we have the SVT Raptor : a jacked up F-150 with up to 12.1 inches of suspension travel, a snarling V-8 engine with 411 horsepower, and likely one of the best-balanced four-wheel-drive systems in a pickup.

Well, being car lovers, what else could we ask for? For Shelby to get its tuning hands on this beast it push it to extremes so obscene that the FCC is investigating it, of course — 575 horsepower, to be precise, thanks to a supercharger and some other tasty bits. Unfortunately, Shelby is limiting this supercharged, baja monster to only 100 units, so you’d better get to buying before supply runs out.

For those of you that can’t swing the $60k-plus required to own this Shelby-tuned pickup, World’s Fastest Car Show from Motor Trend has a test video (above) that at least sheds some light on what you’re missing out on.

You know as well as we do that Justin Bell wouldn’t take the Shelby down a six-lane highway in Southern Cali and tell us how smooth it runs. Rather, he opted to thrash the Shelby SVT Raptor in a more fitting manner by taking it to the Vegas Off-Road Experience (VORE) and gave it the hammering that Shelby intended it to have. We’re not too sure if Shelby saw the video yet, but It either loved the fact that it got a good workout and video evidence of its performance, or it billed Mr. Bell for the massive wear and tear on the suspension, tires, engine and brakes.

Either way, at least we get a nice look at this rare Shelby rig. Enjoy!

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

At some point in time, the Shelby Mustang GT500 Convertible will be a collector’s piece that will likely cost a pretty penny, especially if it’s the last ever produced.

But that’s well into the future, probably decades away from now.

At the present time, though, the final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 Convertible still commanded plenty of attention at the recent Hot August Nights Auction presented by Barrett-Jackson. The whole auction was a resounding success with total sales numbers eclipsing $14.2 million.

As expected, the biggest contributor to that total was the final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 Convertible, accounting for $500,000 when the hammer fell on its auction. That may seem like a steep price to pay for a car that routinely costs at a little over a tenth of the price that this unique model fetched in the auction.

That being said, nobody else can lay claim to owning the last ever produced Shelby Mustang GT500 and besides, as the last of the lot, the winning owner now has the opportunity to completely customize the car to its full bloom.

At some point in the future, this model could very well be worth way more than the half-a-million the winning bidder paid for the right to own it.

Shelby American announced that the 2013 model year will be the end of the line for the Mustang GT350 . The company will continue to accept orders for new GT350 models through December 31st, 2013, so you had better get to ordering while you still can.

Shelby launched the GT350 program in 1965 and painted each and every one of the debut models Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue rocker-panel stripes, and just over a quarter of these models features Le Mans (racing) stripes. These models came with a 289-cubic-inch V-8 powerhouse that Shelby Shelby tuned to 306 horsepower — stock output was 271 horsepower. Other updates included heavy-duty rear axles from the Ford Galaxy, larger rear drum brakes and upgraded Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes. The engine hooked up to a T-10 four-speed manual gearbox and the car held the road via over-rider traction bars, revise A-arms and 130 mph-rated Goodyear rubber.

1966 brought about four new colors: blue, red, green and black. It also gained brake cooling ducts, an optional three-speed automatic transmission and an optional Paxton supercharger. The latter option ran $670 — a relative bargain by today’s standard — and bumped the engine to 440 horsepower.

Also new for 1966 was the Hertz "Rent-a-Racer," which were later refurbished by Ford and sold to the public as the GT350-H. The "Rent-a-Racer" program netted plenty of issues, as many of these cars were rented for use in SCCA events, which ended up with customers temporarily welding in roll cages. Additionally, many of the performance parts were missing by time Hertz returned the models to Ford for refurbishing.

In 1968, Ford added in the GT350-KR model — "KR" meaning "King of the Road" — which included a 428-cubic-inch V-8 powerplant with 335 horses and 440 pound-feet of torque. Also changed up was the addition of the "Cobra" tag to the name in 1968, making it the "Shelby Cobra GT350."the Otherwise, the GT350 remained the same in 1967 and 1968.

In 1969, which was the GT 350’s final year, the "Cobra" tag disappeared and a 351-cubic-inch V-8 found its way under its hood.

In 2011 Shelby reintroduced the GT350 and produced only coupe models painted in Competition white with Guardsmen blue stripes. In 2012 , it also offered a convertible version, plus three more colors (red, blue and anniversary black/gold celebrating 50 years of Shelby American).

As of January 1st, 2014, Shelby will continue to offer models like Shelby GTS, GT500 Super Snake and Shelby 1000, Shelby Raptor muscle truck and hot hatch Shelby Focus ST.

Though we’re pretty confident that the "Need for Speed" movie will hit theaters on schedule next March, in the event that it doesn’t, we can all take comfort in knowing that director Scott Waugh is taking the video game treatment to the cinema screens pretty seriously.

We already saw a "making-of" trailer of the movie a month ago, and now, more behind-the-scenes footage is propping up for our enjoyment.

This particular scene was apparently filmed in the streets of Detroit with the one-off Shelby GT500 Need For Speed Edition taking to the streets to put in some serious drift work ala those "Need for Speed" video games.

We already know that the Shelby GT500 also plays the role of the movie’s "hero car," which means that we expect it to last for the duration of the movie. The same can’t be said for some of the supercars that were used and abused in the "making-of" trailer.

As for this footage, it doesn’t last long, taking up only half-a-minute of your time. Yet in that short time frame, we’re treated to a pretty sick shot of the GT500 doing its business right in its hometown.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see this movie come out.

Though Ford decided not to offer any big unveilings at the 2013 New York Auto Show, Shelby American came with a tuning kit based on one of its pickups, the 2013 Ford SVT Raptor . The kit adds enhanced power and handling, and a specially designed exterior and interior.

Shelby installed a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger onto the standard 6.2-liter V-8 engine in the Raptor and a new Shelby Stinger exhaust system. As a result, the engine’s output jumps from the standard and already awesome 411 horsepower up to a total of 575 horsepower. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox that transfers the power to all four wheels. Additionally, an "Off-Road" mode that calibrates the transmission, stability and traction control systems for optimal operation at high speeds off road.

The package includes a set of Shelby side fender heat extractors to keep the engine cool and make the truck look downright sweet. Also included for the exterior is your choice of one of three Shelby graphics packages – Traditional, Shelby Splash and Shelby Super Snake – so everyone knows that this isn’t any old SVT Raptor.

On the inside, the base kit comes with a custom interior that includes two-tone leather with contracting stitching, a serial numbered dashboard badge, and boost and fuel pressure gauges to make sure everything is within spec.

There are also a number of optional items you can add to the base kit, for a fee of course. First up is an optional set of customs wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodrich All-Terrain tires, a Shelby roof-mounted light bar, front and rear Shelby-spec bumpers, a spare tire and bed-mounted spare tire carrier. More options are coming down the pipe soon.

The update package is priced starts at $17,995 – a relative bargain – and will be limited to only 100 units, so get to ordering.
