Skoda Octavia RS+ and Fabia RS+ to be revealed at Wörthersee
 
Skoda is the third brand from the Volkswagen Group who has announced its presence at the Wörthersee tuning event taking place from May 12–15, 2010. At Wörthersee, the company will present two customized models: the Fabia RS+ & the Octavia RS+. Following right behind those presentations will also be two Fabia Super 2000 race cars. The first one, the Fabia RS+, features a two-color combination. The green color bears reference to Skoda’s rally achievements and the unique connection with the S2000 while the grey color represents the vehicle’s sporty expression and simplicity. These colors are combined with design details, black spoilers and diffusers, and air exhausts on the bonnet. The second one, the Octavia RS+ features the same two-color combination, black-tinted headlamps and integrated LED-based taillights, as well as new materials and colors used in the interior. The two Fabia Super 2000 race cars will be presented by Mattias Kahle, who is supported by Škoda Auto Deutschland, and Raimund Baumschlager of BRR (private team). The Fabia Super 2000 features a two-liter atmospheric four-cylinder petrol engine, a six-speed sequential transmission, and a four-wheel drive system with three mechanical differentials. We haven’t heard from Skoda in a while now, but it looks like the brand is ready to make some waves at the Geneva Motor Show. The Volkswagen-owned car brand is set to unveil facelift versions of two of their existing models, the Fabia and the Roomster, at the Geneva Motor Show. Among the modifications that is expected to be included on the two new cars include a new radiator grille and 3D-shaped headlamps, new aluminum wheels, decorative hubcaps and paint colors. Both models will also be offered with a choice of seven - yes, seven! - petrol engines and three diesel units with maximum output ranging from 58 hp to 103 hp for the Fabia and from 68 hp to 103 hp for Roomster. Skoda has just revealed at the Geneva Motor Show their Fabia Sports Design Concept, a preview of a future vRS version for the successful Fabia. According to a Skoda spokesman, the future vRS will be "somewhere between the Sports Design and our S2000 rally car in looks." The production version is expected to debut in 2010.  The Sport Design Concept features a two-tone color scheme both in and outside the car, black alloy wheels, a unique front and rear bumper (complete with diffuser), a dark chrome surround for the grille and blacked out headlights. A production version will be powered by a 1.4-liter TSI gasoline unit from the Volkswagen family. This would replace the turbo diesel mill currently in action. 2009 Skoda Fabia Scout
Skoda revealed today the 2009 Fabia Scout, a model that will make its world debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales will begin in Europe this May.  The new Fabia Scout will be offered with a choice of four engines: two petrol units (1.4 litres, 86 HP, fuel consumption 6.5l/100km and 1.6 litres, 105 HP, fuel consumption 6.9l/100km – the latter will also come with a six-speed transmission) and two diesel engines (1.4 litres, 80 HP, fuel consumption 4.6l/100km and the top-class 1.9-litre engine offering 105 HP and a fuel consumption of 4.9l/100km). The new generation Fabia hatchback made its world debut in 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. With both the passenger and luggage compartments sized generously, this five-door small-class vehicle is even roomier that its predecessor. The shape is very typical of the Skoda brand – it certainly guarantees the new Fabia a unique position in the market and shows clearly that the new vehicle is a member of the Škoda family.  The new generation of Fabias is again one of the foremost representatives of the small car segment. It offers plenty of room not just to the driver and front seat passenger, but also passengers in the rear. Once again, the car can also boast of a very generous luggage area. The Fabia has grown longer (3992 mm) and taller (1498 mm), and again is one of the largest in the supermini car segment. The dynamic and confident front section of the car clearly testifies to the fact that it is part of the Škoda family and a particularly close relative of the Roomster, a model with which it shares most parts – from the original headlights all the way down to the mudguards.  A three-cylinder 1.2 HTP engine is available with power outputs of 44 kW or 51 kW and comes equipped with a main catalytic converter and two lambda sensors. The four-cylinder 1.4 16V/63 kW and 1.6 16V/77 kW engines have two catalitic converters and two lambda sensors. All engines include an on-board EOBD self-diagnostic device. The range of diesel engines is comprised of two three-cylinder 1.4 turbo diesels with power outputs of 51 kW and 59 kW, and one four-cylinder 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW. All engines meet the emissions limits imposed by the EU 4 standard. Diesel particulate filters (DPF) are also available for both of the more powerful engines. Full details after the jump. Skoda UK launched today the Fabia BlueLine special edition. It is offered with both gasoline and diesel engine priced at £9,990 and £11,450 respectively. We won’t bother converting the prices because Skoda has no plans to sell the cars in the U.S. The Fabia BlueLine is painted in Pacific Blue paint combined with a white roof. it comes with lowered suspensions and 15-inch alloy wheels. Under the hood there is a choice of two engines: a 70HP 1.2-liter petrol (gas) engine and a 80Hp 1.4-liter turbo diesel. Inside the VW Polo clone is offering the ’Magic’ upholstery, climate control air conditioning, a glasses storage compartment and storage boxes under the front seats. Skoda Fabia Super 2000 to debut in the Bohemia rally
 It looks like the Bohemia rally will be the place where the new Skoda Fabia Super 2000 will make its debut. The vehicle which was announced in February will be powered by a 2.0 liter FSI engine, found also on the Vw Golf V GTI, and will deliver approximately 140 hp.  A six-speed sequential transmission will be used on the vehicle as well as a four-wheel drive system and three passive differentials. The lucky drivers who will drive the car will be Jan Kopecky, Raimund Baumschlager, Sebastian Lindholm and the well-known Spanish driver Carlos Sainz. Skoda has started testing the first prototype of the Skoda Fabia Super 2000 today. Designed to be used in the Super 2000 category, the vehicle is based on the second-generation Fabia and, in compliance with the FIA regulations, is equipped with a two-litre atmospheric four-cylinder petrol engine, a six-speed sequential transmission and a four-wheel drive system with three mechanical differentials.  Based on a customer service arrangement, further development work on the vehicle will be done in close cooperation with our importers worldwide“.
