More than just being one of the biggest automakers in the world these days, Hyundai is also pretty adept at preparing for the apocalypse. Whereas other companies aren’t as involved when it comes to gearing up for the day zombies roam this planet, the Korean automaker has been doing the opposite for the past few years.

Hyundai has already released a handful of zombie-prepared vehicles in the past and at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show , it introduced its latest survival vehicle. It’s called the Hyundai Tucson Walking Dead Edition, and as the name clearly says, this special edition SUV is based on the hit AMC show.

For its color, Hyundai opted to use an Ash Black shade for the exterior with matching red accents and some dedicated graphics, including four unique decals featuring factions - Hilltop, Kingdom, Saviors and Survivors - from the graphic novel-inspired show.

Inside, the special edition Tucson receives black leather seats, custom floor mats, and a seven-inch touchscreen display with a special The Walking Dead splash screen. A "Zombie Survival Kit" is also part of the package, which has a host of cool items, like a survivalist backpack and a Walking Dead Tucson Quick Reference Guide.

It took a little longer than many of us expected, but Chevrolet has finally released the production version of the Sonic Dusk Sedan at the 2013 Los Angeles Show.

If any of you remember, the model was first shown as a concept at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show and, unlike a lot of the models we see at SEMA, the Sonic Dusk was given the green light as a production model. There are not a lot of noticeable changes from the concept to the production model, but that’s actually a good thing, seeing as the Sonic Dusk Sedan comes with a host of sophisticated new features that really sets it apart from any other Sonic variant

A unique exterior color — Ashen Grey Metallix — is one of the unquestioned highlights of the Sonic Dusk Sedan, complemented nicely by matte appointments on the upper and lower grilles, door handle inserts and rear license plate trim. The vehicle also has a new rear spoiler, a ground-effects package, a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels with its own Midnight Silver matte finish and four-wheel disc brakes — an setup that is exclusive to the Sonic Dusk.

Inside, the modifications are limited to Jet Black leather-trimmed seats with suede-microfiber accents and Mojave tan inserts. Not exactly lighting the world on fire, but enough to give the car’s cabin that added character to set it apart from the crowd.

No performance modifications were given, so expect the Sonic Dusk to have the same 1.4-liter Ecotec turbocharged engine that produces 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. This is good enough to hit 60 mph in around 10 seconds with a top speed of about 115 mph and a fuel returns of 29 mpg in the city and 40 mpg in the highway.

It looks like SRT is doing all it can to get more people to stand up and take notice of the new Viper , and somehow boost the very poor sales of the new sports coupe. At the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show , SRT unveiled a sleekl Anodized Carbon Special Edition package offered exclusively for the Viper GTS model.

As its name suggests, the new limited edition is all about using a new, metallic matte exterior color — a first for the SRT Viper. The new Anodized Carbon is applied by hand and gives the Viper a unique look. Along with the new hue, SRT SRT is adding in gloss-black GTS badges, satin-black exhaust bezels and an Anodized Carbon fuel filler door. Rounding out the exterior mods are carbon-fiber brake ducts and rear applique.

The interior also receives a host of upgrades, including some high-end Nappa leather, Alcantara and orange accents to make you feel special while whipping this rig around.

This special edition retains the stock 8.4-liter, V-10 powerplant with 640 horses and 600 pound-feet of twist punishing the concrete through the rear wheels. This is enough to get the Viper to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

The SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition will be limited to only 50 units and will be put into production in January 2014.

Back in 1914, John and Horace Dodge developed America’s first mass-produced, all-steel-bodied cars and set a world record for the most first-model-year automobiles ever produced at 45,033 units. In fact, Dodge was founded in 1900, but during its first years of existence it only served as a supplier for Detroit-based automakers.

Now the company is preparing to celebrate its centenary with the launch of two special-edition models, based on the Charger and Challenger — two of the most successful models in Dodge’s lineup.

First of them is the new Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition based on either the SXT or R/T Plus versions. It will be put on sale in the spring of 2014 and it will add only $2,500 to the Challenger’s base price.

As expected, the extra cash adds several unique visual elements inside and out, plus Sport Mode calibration, a performance-tuned suspension system and a three-spoke, flat-bottom, performance steering wheel.

Jeep found a very cool way to pay tribute to the earliest civilian Jeep vehicles used during the World War II with the unveiling of the special-edition Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition. Under the hood, the special Wrangler keeps the usual 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The Pentastar mates to a standard six-speed manual or an available five-speed automatic transmission.

The new Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will make its world debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow, and it will hit the market in early 2014. Prices will start from $25,795 for two-door models and from $29,595 for the Unlimited (four-door) model.

The launch of Ferrari’s Tailor Made personalization program has given way to some pretty interesting creations over the years.

Recently, the Italian automaker added another project to its list and this one pays homage to Formula One legend Niki Lauda. Thanks to the always-ingenious work by a personal designer from the Maranello Style Center, this Ferrari 458 Italia received the treat of a host of styling upgrades.

The red body of the supercar is accentuated by a white roof that features a longitudinal image of the Italian flag. Adding to the exterior touch is the new set of gold alloy wheels that brings out the unique look of the Lauda-inspired 458 Italia.

Inside, there are plenty more distinctive touches, highlighted by the Italian flag motif on both the seats and the center tunnel. Matching red stitching was also applied on numerous parts of the cabin, including the dashboard, the seats, the steering wheel and the instrument panel.

The program is impressive in a lot of ways, but one thing we noticed was the lack of details attributed to Lauda’s home country of Austria. It’s true that the Austrian racer won two of his three world championships with Ferrari, but a simple tribute to his homeland would’ve been pretty nice.

Other than that, there aren’t a whole lot of complaints coming from us with this 458 Italia Niki Lauda Edition.

It’s hard to believe that the Mercedes SLS AMG has been around since 2011. It wasn’t that long ago that we were all waiting in anticipation of the supercar ’s debut and now, with the SLS getting its discharge papers, and Mercedes has decided to give the mighty supercar one last hurrah in the form of the SLS AMG GT Final Edition.

Dressed in the same two-tone red and black finish that has become a staple for the SLS AMG, the Final Edition model also carries a number of styling cues that distinguishes itself from the rest of its brethren. It’s highly appropriate too, considering that this is the final run of SLS AMG models — all 350 of them — so it has to stand out in more ways than one.

The SLS AMG GT Final Edition comes with plenty of new and modified components, including a new carbon-fiber hood and front splitter, a redesigned front bumper, and new brakes. An updated rear wing is also part of the program, as are darkened light surrounds, and carbon-fiber mirror housings.

Performance numbers remain the same, which means that the supercar will receive a 6.3-liter, V-8 engine that produces 591 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to hit 60 mph in a scant 3.7 seconds to go with a top speed of 198 mph.

Like what was said, the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition will only have 350 units built, so if you’re looking to scoop one up, you need to be sitting at your local Mercedes dealer the morning it opens the order books.

We’re sure there will be much more information to roll out when Mercedes unveils the model in LA, so stay tuned for more updates.
