Special Editions and limited production cars. Those cars usually offer packaged options and interior trims to celebrate special events such as model anniversary, movie release, celebrity signature or co-branding. They usually come up a few month to a year before the car get a more serious facelift
In early 2011, Mitsubishi announced that it will be discontinuing one of the marquis economy sports cars of the last two decades, the Eclipse. The Eclipse lived a rather odd life, starting out with two nearly identical siblings in the Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon. After the elimination of the Laser, the Eclipse and Talon remained, turning into two of the most beautiful economy sports cars ever built, in 1995.
In 1998, Eagle folded and only the beautiful Eclipse remained, but the death of its sibling didn’t set too well with the Eclipse, as after just one year of being on its own, it morphed into a rather ugly and over-styled pig that required a V-6 engine to be even remotely fun to drive.
In 2006, Mitsubishi finally came to its senses and realized that the new body style just wasn’t doing the “Eclipse” name justice, so they went back to the drawing board and created a rounder Eclipse that more closely resembled the one from the late-90s. Oddly enough, this new sportier Eclipse is actually heavier than its predecessor, but that certainly does not take away from its beauty.
In the earlier years, when a car was on its last production year, the final model to roll off of the production line was kept by the manufacturer and stored. In more recent years, the last model typically ran off of the production line like any other model and became lost in the sea of models. Mitsubishi seized this opportunity to fully customize the final Eclipse, which is an SE model, so that it was truly a one-of-a-kind vehicle. Now this brand new Eclipse is up for sale by RK Motors Charlotte.

The Lamborghini Aventador has become quite the tuning attraction. For a new company like German Special Customs, the onus on building a sick program for the Aventador was important to get their name across in the industry.
To their credit, not only did they make one program for the mighty Lamborghini, they actually made two with one being the limited edition Aventador Estatura GXX.
So far, the Aventador Estatura GXX is still in the pipeline of development, but GSC did release some fresh details on the supercar’s new aerodynamic body kit. Built completely from carbon titanium, the external body kit features a bevy of new components, including a new front bumper, a new rear bumper, side skirts, an adjustable racing, a carbon titanium hood, a titanium black exhaust, and a new set of ultralight wheels.
GSC didn’t say anything about performance modifications for the Aventador Estatura GXX, but we do expect something to be developed when the entire program is completed. For now, the supercar still comes packed with a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 509 lb/ft of torque.
As soon as more details become available regarding the Aventador Estatura GXX, we won’t waste time passing them along to all of you. For now, though, enjoy the photos of the limited edition suepercar!
Richard Childress Racing Street Performance partnered with General Motors to create RC1 Camaros to pay homage to legendary racer, Dale Earnhardt. The latest rendition of the RC1 series came just one model year after the Camaro beat all odds and made a successful comeback following its deletion in 2002.
This 2011 Camaro SS/RC1 is based on the 2011 Camaro SS, but features much more than any normal SS on the market. It not only features a stylish design, but it also packs a mean bite under the hood. This particular 2011 Camaro SS/RC1 was not offered to the public, but instead Richard Childress Racing (RCR) built several of the RC1 Camaros and shipped them straight to RK Motors Charlotte.
The RC1 is the first of the series and the least powerful of the three. Of course, being the least powerful of the RC-series is not saying much, as the top-end RC3 pumps out a concrete pummeling 750 horsepower. The best thing is that this special edition Chevy Camaro is in a price range that a working class Joe can actually afford. You may be wondering how much it actually is and what you get for your money.

Already refreshed once back in 2011, the Range Rover Sport is entering the 2013 model year with fresh new colors and a greater choice of interior trim and alloy wheel designs. Land Rover is also offering two new special editions - the Sport Supercharged Limited Edition and the Sport GT Limited Edition - both of which will be built in limited numbers.
We’ve already provided details on the new 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition, so we’ll focus on the Sport GT Limited. It will be offered with an extended rear roof spoiler, unique rear chrome exhaust treatments, 20" black five spoke alloy wheels, steering wheel mounted shift paddles, and a premium LOGIC7 audio system with SAT and HD radio. The GT Sport will be offered in a limited run of 750 units for the U.S., 450 of which will be in Santorini Black and 300 units in Fuji White.
In the 1960s two of the big three, Chevrolet and Ford, each had their own secret weapons in the form of racecar drivers turned muscle car builders. Ford had the recently deceased Carroll Shelby modifying Mustangs for SCCA use and sale, whereas Chevy had the late Don Yenko modifying a wide array of their muscle cars, the most popular being the Camaro. Yenko also ran multiple Chevy dealerships where the bulk of his creations were sold.
In 1967 and 1968, Yenko was dropping 427 cubic-inch monsters from Corvettes into Camaro bodies and creating some of the most powerful Camaros of the era. One of Yenko’s crowning achievements came in 1969 when Yenko was tired of selling Camaros with limited warranties because of his modifications and convinced Chevy to add a 427-equipped Camaro to its special equipment ordering system, known as COPO.
This addition of the 427-equipped Camaro to COPO made it possible for Yenko to sell these cars with the GM-standard 5-year or 50,000-mile warranty. Yenko ordered a grand total of 198 of the Camaro 427s available from COPO. The total number of COPO Camaros produced and sold is unknown, but has been rumored as anywhere from 500 to 1,000.
With exception of the 427 jammed into the engine compartment, the Camaro 427s came from COPO with almost nothing identifying them as a special model; they even came with the old dog dish hubcaps on steel wheels. Yenko made sure to order his from COPO with 15-inch rally wheels, a front stabilizer bar, and a 140 mph speedometer. The rest of the customization was all Yenko’s doing.
Needless to say, these COPO-ordered 1969 Yenko Camaros are tough to come by, but Legendary Motorcar Company got its hands on one and had it up for auction on Ebay.

Technically, Ferrari debuted in 1929, but its official debut is recognized as 1947, the year that Ferrari began manufacturing street-legal vehicles. The 2007 model year marked the 60th anniversary of Ferrari’s street machine building life and the automaker wanted to make it a special one.
Instead of doing what many automakers do (see: Ford) by slapping “60th Anniversary” badges on every car that year, Ferrari chose to build 60 completely unique cars for the 2007 model year. To accomplish this, Ferrari took its existing 612 Scaglietti and modified it to create the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Sessanta.
As we said, only 60 of these cars were ever built, so they are rather rare. Add in the fact that this bad boy was a whopping $424,480 in 2007 and you can tell that these cars were built for the true collector. If you are a true collector of Ferrari’s and would like to own one that very well may be the Ferrari to own in the next 20 to 30 years, this Sessanta is a safe bet.
F.C. Kerbeck, a dealer of luxury vehicles, is now offering you the opportunity to own one of these rare machines, as they have one up for sale in their showroom and on Ebay.

Seat will be attending the legendary Wörthersee event with another extensive display: the Spanish company plans to unveil some very cool concept cars as well as a bunch of vehicles that can already be ordered. Once such vehicle is the Leon Super Copa - a model inspired by its sibling racer from the WTCC and priced at 63,000 euro, or about $80,000 at the current exchange rates.
The new Leon Super Copa is powered by an uprated version of the 2.0-liter TSI engine from the Leon Cupra R. The engine delivers a total of 300 HP and a peak torque of 250 lbs-ft, sprinting the car up to a top speed of 155 mph. The engine’s output travels through a six-speed DSG transmission and mechanically locking differential to the front wheels.
The Seat Leon Super Copa features a special grey paint finish, while the mirror casings, wheels, and roll cage highlight the vehicle in a fluorescent orange.
You know when a car is getting some serious love from places you wouldn’t even think of? When a country that specializes in some of the fastest cars on the planet decides that they want first dibs on a special edition model of the said vehicle.
Over in Italy, Japanese automaker Toyota will launch their new GT 86 sports coupe by releasing a limited number of models bearing the "First Edition" name. Limited to only 86 units, the 86 First Edition will bear a few styling distinctions, including a Lightning Red paint finish with black adhesives running along the hoof, up the rear wing, and on the bottom of the sides. In addition, these models will also carry a numbered plate that will be engraved with the name of the owner.
Speaking of these buyers, the lucky 88 that will be getting a piece of the 86 First Edition will also be entitled to participate in the 86’s GT Academy.
The 86 First Edition won’t have any performance modifications so expect the sports coupe to carry a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-four engine that produces 200 horsepower and 151 lb/ft of torque.
The 86 First Edition has been priced at €29,000, which is around $37,000 based on current exchange rates.
German automaker BMW is ratcheting up the promotion of their highly anticipated special edition M Performance models.
We already got wind of a teaser video BMW UK released for the M5 M Performance Edition, but now it appears that it wasn’t the only teaser video BMW had in store for us. Shortly after releasing that video, the German automaker released another teaser vid, this time of the M3 M Performance Edition.
For the M3 model that has seen its fair share of special edition models,, the M3 M Performance Edition is arguably one of the most highly-anticipated of all these limited run models. Details are still scarce surrounding the M3 M Performance Edition models, but like it’s M5 counterparts, the line will be limited to only 30 units, 10 each for the three available colors - Frozen Red, Frozen Blue, and Frozen White - that will be launched soon.

The Ghia L6.4 was just about as exclusive as you could get in the 1960s, as it was designed and built only for actors and other high rollers in Hollywood. The final of the 26 Ghia L6.4s ever built was built for one of the largest stars of that era, Dean Martin. Martin was not the only Rat Pack member to own a L6.4, as Frank Sinatra also owned one, as did other Rat Pack members.
Recently, one of the 26 Ghia L6.4s built, the one owned by Dean Martin, was put up for auction on eBay as Hyman Ltd. got its hands on Martin’s old L6.4. For a car of its age, the modern features are plentiful, but it still wasn’t enough for Dean Martin, as he shipped the car off to George Barris, “Hollywood’s King of the Kustomizers,” to have even more customizations performed on this already rare vehicle. This customization turned Martin’s L6.4 into a one-of-a-kind vehicle.
