Special Editions and limited production cars. Those cars usually offer packaged options and interior trims to celebrate special events such as model anniversary, movie release, celebrity signature or co-branding. They usually come up a few month to a year before the car get a more serious facelift

The Peugeot 208 GTi is a sports hatchback that doesn’t get nearly the same amount of love as it should. The standard 208 GTi may not excite people’s senses that much, but Peugeot is confident that the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition will do just that.

Developed to celebrate the 205 GTi’s 30th anniversary, the special edition 208 GTi channels the sportiness of the standard version of the model and ups the ante in the form of an upgraded style and improved performance. Those two elements combine to create a visually appealing package that gives the Peugeot hatch a sportier and more aggressive appeal that isn’t usually reserved for a car of this stature.

Peugeot is presenting the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed before making another appearance at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Sales of the model are expected to commence this November 2014, giving customers enough time to learn more about Peugeot’s newest special edition model.

After much speculation and teasing, McLaren released the all-new, P1 -inspired 650S in 2014. This model takes the place of the aging MP4, and delivers a mammoth 640 horsepower. Just a few months after its official debut, McLaren released a concept version of the 650S from its bespoke arm, McLaren Special Operations. This pitch-black concept obviously caught the attention of movers and shakers, as McLaren announced right before the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed that the MSO 650S would indeed be a limited-production vehicle.

This MSO 650S draws most of its styling cues from the concept that debuted in early 2014. Its carbon-fiber side wings and rear bumper center section, and rear diffuser are all taken directly from the concept. Even the sinister black color that the concept wore when it debuted is part of the production model. In fact, the only straying this concept-turned-production does on its way to driveways is the addition of new interior bits and some featherweight wheels.

In 25 years, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has become a cult icon and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling, two-seat, open-top sports car . But that is old news, and we are here to show you just what Mazda plans to do in celebration of the Miata’s 25th year in existence. The automaker is launching a 25th Anniversary Edition at the New York Auto Show to show buyers just how important the roadster is to Mazda.

This special-edition MX-5 Miata is based on the power retractable hard top (PRHT) version of the car, giving this drop-top a nice and quiet cabin when the top is up — I noted this in my recent test drive of the Club version . The 25th Anniversary Edition will be exclusively available in Soul Red Metallic — a proper color for the iconic sports car — with contrasting black mirrors, A-pillars and top. On the inside, the special model gets off-white leather seating and door trim, and a hand-finished decorative panel.

Under the hood, things will remain the same, as it will feature the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder mill that cranks out 167 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque when mated to the standard six-cog manual. You can also opt for the six-speed auto transmission, but that results in 11 fewer ponies under the hood. This special MX-5 also gets the added benefit of Bilstein dampers to keep it glued to the road in the twist.

Unfortunately, there are no real modifications to this car other than the exclusive colors inside and out, the hand-worked decorative panel and badges, but it is still a nice send-off for the NC-generation MX-5.

Updated 6/25/2014: Mazda will show off the 25th Anniversary Edition MX-5 at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and it has release nineteen new images leading up to its public showing.

Introduced to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and launched for the 2013 model year, the Ferrari F12berlinetta quickly became one of the most desirable grand tourers on the market. The F12 came to replace Ferrari ’s previous 2-seat berlinetta, the 599 . Built around an aluminum space frame chassis, the F12 brought numerous improvements to the 599. as it was 20 percent more rigid and 150 pounds lighter, and the new chassis also allowed Ferrari to lower the car’s center of gravity by one inch. For 2014, the F12berlinetta has spawned a special edition coming all the way from China. Dubbed Polo Edition, this unique F12berlinetta was crafted by Ferrari’s first Tailor-Made Center in Asia Pacific and reaches into the spotlight to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Horse.

This new model was inspired by the game of polo (not the fancy golf shirts), a horseback team sport played in Asia for more than 2,000 years. The one-off F12 also pays tribute to the company’s passion for speed and racing. A prancing horse that celebrates horse racing, if you will.

The Ferrari FF grand tourer was presented in 2011 and launched for the 2012 model year. The FF name stands for "Ferrari Four," which hints at the vehicle’s four-seat interior and its four-wheel-drive configuration. Often described as a three-door shooting brake, the FF is Ferrari ’s first production all-wheel-drive model.

The four-wheel-drive system is an innovative unit engineered and patented by Ferrari. Dubbed 4RM, it is around 50 percent lighter than a conventional system. It splits the power between the four wheels as needed and it’s activated when the FF is driven in the "Comfort" or "Snow" modes. Otherwise, the FF functions as a rear-wheel-drive sports car .

Although it’s remained unchanged since its introduction, the FF can be customized via numerous personalization programs or Ferrari’s Special Projects division. Coming into 2015, the FF gains a special-edition model via Ferrari’s first Tailor-Made Center in Asia Pacific. Recently opened in Shanghai, China, the brand-new center showcased its potential with a couple of bespoke Ferraris, one of them being the FF Dressage Edition.

The Ford Fiesta is already a very fashionable hatchback . It’s up to date, it comes with plenty of options, and its compact body has received a host of cool liveries at various auto shows. However, that didn’t stop the Blue Oval manufacturer from enhancing the car’s trendy appeal by launching a couple of special-edition models.

This time though, Ford is looking into a popular photography trend called "color popping". It’s a technique in which pictures are converted to black and white with only a small portion left to appear in color. Don’t worry though, Ford is not trying to sell you a white Fiesta with yellow mirror covers. These special-edition hatchbacks are finished in contrasting red and black combos and offered in two distinct color schemes.

As it stands, Ford is gunning for customers "with a passion for style and an eye for quality and detail." Is it just me, or the Fiesta Black and Red Editions are the Mini Coopers of the Ford lineup?

The second-generation Range Rover Sport made its official debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show . It went on sale in a choice of four equipment levels, with the Autobiography sitting right at the top and an extensive choice of colors, finishes, and options waiting to be checked. Needless to say, the Range Rover Sport is one of the most customizable SUVs on the market.

However, the British seem to think customers could be persuaded to check even more boxes on the options list and are responding accordingly with a brand-new package. Surprisingly enough, the new pack doesn’t improve the vehicle’s interior in terms of luxury or technology. The new bundle is all about styling and advertises a subtle approach that may go unnoticed to the untrained eye.

Conspicuous or not, the Stealth Pack will benefit from a fancy debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed , where a properly equipped Range Rover Sport will showcase its new body features while climbing up the Goodwood hill.

BMW is once again showing off its Individual program; this time with the revised X6 for the 2015 model year. Besides all the improvements and updates made to the X6, the Individual program allows owners to order their X6 — or any other BMW product — with a high level of customized features not normally available.

In this case, BMW is showcasing a Pyrite Brown Metallic X6. The special paint is compete with an extra level of metallic flake, adding luster to its looks. Rolling on unique 20-inch V-Spoke 551 wheels, the crossover SUV looks just different enough to be noticed, yet not scream for attention. Of course, a plethora of other colors are available as well.

BMW demonstrates four new colors for the interior, however. The choices include Criollo Brown, Nutmeg, Amaro Brown, and Smoke White. Other parts of the interior are customizable as well. BMW shows off a close-up of a dashboard finished in Merino Leather Taupe, Merino Leather Scotch, and an Alcantara headliner dyed in a Scotch Dark tone. Light Brown wood trim finishes the look off.

Another interesting and arguably more functional option is the BMW Individual Cooling Box located behind the rear bench. It attaches just aft of the center arm rest and is accessible though the center pass-through. Spaces for several bottles and other items gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy "in-flight refreshments." Of course, if you need the extra luggage space, you can remove the cooling box from the rear cargo area.

All of these limited-edition features and options are available though BMW Individual on the X6 and other vehicles across the BMW lineup.
