The current-generation Honda Civic is enjoying great success in the United States, where it is offered in both sedan and coupe body styles, which are powered by gasoline, natural gas, or even a hybrid powertrain. On the other side of the Atlantic, however, the hatchback version of the Civic, which Honda has yet to bring Stateside, just had its cool factor enhanced by means of a menacing special-edition model.

Dubbed Black Edition and wrapped in a triple black exterior that would make a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner burst with anger, the new addition to Honda’s U.K. lineup is restricted to Great Britain, where it joins similar special-edition versions of the CR-V crossover and the Jazz hatchback (sold as Fit in the United States). Suddenly, it seems like the United Kingdom is a great place to be if you’re a Honda enthusiast.

But before we start feeling sorry for not getting it in the United States, let’s have a closer look and find out what the Civic Black Edition is all about.

There are a lot of special-edition BMW models in Japan. Don’t ask us why that’s the case but something about that market really speaks to the Bavarian automaker. We’re admittedly jealous about this fact, more so now that another special-edition Bimmer — a Z4 , no less! — is headed to the Asian.

It’s called the BMW Z4 sDrive 20i GT Spirit and it looks downright gorgeous. The model is exclusively earmarked for the Japanese market as BMW’s way of celebrating the BMW Sports Trophy team’s one-two finish in the Super GT series. Care to guess what car the team was racing in? Yep, a BMW Z4 GT3 .

That’s the reason why BMW has allocated all 60 units of the Z4 sDrive 20i GT Spirit for Japan at a price of 6.090 million yen — close to $60,000 as of 7/8/2014. No other country will get these cars, which again is making us really jealous. Care to spare a few here in America, BMW?

The list of modifications for this special-edition Z4 are limited to cosmetic upgrades, some of which actually pay homage to the Z4 GT3 race car. The Alpine White body is the same as the race car with the tri-color M graphics also making an appearance in the front section of the Z4.

Those are just the start of the exclusive touches given to this particular Z4. There’s plenty more in there that really brings out the best in this special-edition model.

In 2006, Mercedes realized that some buyers need four doors, but also want the sleek design of a coupe. With this realization, the German automaker released the CLS-Class Coupe, a four-door car with a coupe-like roofline. In 2012, the CLS-Class received a full overhaul and for 2015, the CLS-Class is receiving a new Sport Package.

One package apparently isn’t enough for the Mercedes CLS-Class . Around the same time Mercedes announced the Night Package for its resident luxury sedan, the German automaker also went out and launched the Sport Package for the same model. Why make one awesome package when you can make two, right?

What makes the Sport Package different from the Night Package is the focus put on improving the CLS-Class’ mechanical components. A new Direct Control sports suspension makes an appearance to enhance handling without killing comfort. The package also features a new dual-exhaust system with stainless-steel tailpipes and larger front brake discs paired with "Mercedes-Benz"-stamped calipers.

That’s as far as the upgrades go for the Sport Package. There are also wheel options available, but overall, It’s admittedly a little underwhelming compared to the Night Package. The good news is that the Sport Package is available for all versions of the CLS-Class except the CLS 500 and AMG lines.

Supercar sightings are nothing new in today’s social media-heavy world. But seeing ridiculous one-off models is an added treat because of their exclusivity. That’s exactly the case with the Ferrari F12 SP America, a one-off, F12berlinetta -based car that was recently spotted at Wide World Ferrari Maserati — a New York Ferrari and Maserati dealership.

Details about the car are still limited other than the fact that it’s based on the F12berlinetta. What we do know is that it’s awesome. It also comes with distinctive styling upgrades, particularly on the exterior where we see a modified front section with a new hood that features nostrils to send more air to the engine. A reconfigured front bumper and splitter, and a new headlight setup help change the appearance up front.

The F12 SP America is arguably the most enigmatic of the recent one-off Ferrari s the Italian automaker has released, so consider yourself lucky if you saw the F12 SP America in the flesh. Chances are that not many had the same privilege.

Back in 2001, the Lexus IS 300 debuted to give the Japanese automaker a competitor for the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class. The IS 350 took its place in 2006 with a revised body and a new, 3.5-liter engine. The IS 350 received yet another redesign in 2014, giving it a more modern design to better handle the growing and changing luxury sedan realm. Markets other than the U.S. received a hybrid IS 300h for the 2013 model year (same as the U.S.-Spec 2014 model year) and at the tail end of 2014, the UK earns a new trim for the IS 300h dubbed the Executive Edition.

The Lexus IS 300h is the kind of car that already speaks for itself. It looks good, and it has an impressive and efficient powertrain. But every so often, a highly regarded car like the IS 300h is still subject to more improvements. Not that any of us are complaining because an even better equipped IS 300h means a more attractive model for customers. That’s what happened here after Lexus introduced a new Executive Edition model to the IS 300h range. The changes aren’t significant enough to completely change the model’s aesthetics, but it’s still significant enough to warrant our applause.

With all these add-ons, the IS 300h Executive Edition only costs £33,385, which is about $57,000 based on exchange rates (7/1/2014). That represents an increase of just £3,390 ($5,780), which is affordable enough for some new digs.

The Mercedes CLS-Class is a perfect example of a luxury sedan done exactly the way it was supposed to. But that doesn’t mean it stil can’t be improved upon. That’s one of the reasons Mercedes announced a new Night Package for the CLS, giving the model a nice brush up in style and class.

The package is limited to exterior upgrades and is available only on the CLS 500, CLS 500 4MATIC of AMG Line-equipped CLS-Class models. A short list of design elements are a part of the Night Package, including the addition of a high-gloss black lamella in the radiator grille and a new, high-gloss black front splitter in the front bumper. In fact, high-gloss black was used generously on the CLS; notice the exterior mirrors sporting the same finish?

Heat-insulating dark-tinted glass on the rear doors and an anodized trim strip are also part of the Night Package. These two elements don’t catch the public’s attention and yet, both play important roles in creating a comprehensive package that owners of the CLS-Class can appreciate.

The BMW M4 arrived in time for the 2015 model year, just a year after the 4 Series took the place of the 3 Series coupe. Based on a chassis that is lower and wide than the outgoing M3 Coupe, the M4 is one mean machine that pumps an almost unfathomable amount of power form its 3.0-liter, I-6 powerplant. Heading into the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed , our friends over at Pistonheads made quite an impression at the with their own BMW Individual-dressed M4 Coupe .

The car looks undeniably sexy, the product of months of work and preparation that resulted in a true one-of-a-kind Bavarian sports coupe .

Readers of the auto news site had a big hand in helping Pistonheads design the M4 Coupe. To their credit, PH readers did an impressive job on the model, giving it a unique finish you normally don’t see in a BMW M4 Coupe. The Tanzanite Blue metallic paint finish is a particularly impressive color for the M4. It’s not too flashy, but it’s one that may make you do a double-take.

But here’s the best part about the entire build. Pistonheads’ BMW M4 Individual was built specifically for Goodwood and two readers of the site were given a chance to drive the sports coupe up the famous. In addition to that, both readers also got the opportunity to drive around the circuit in other BMW models, ensuring that the experience left an indelible mark in their minds.

The Peugeot 208 GTi is a sports hatchback that doesn’t get nearly the same amount of love as it should. The standard 208 GTi may not excite people’s senses that much, but Peugeot is confident that the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition will do just that.

Developed to celebrate the 205 GTi’s 30th anniversary, the special edition 208 GTi channels the sportiness of the standard version of the model and ups the ante in the form of an upgraded style and improved performance. Those two elements combine to create a visually appealing package that gives the Peugeot hatch a sportier and more aggressive appeal that isn’t usually reserved for a car of this stature.

Peugeot is presenting the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed before making another appearance at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Sales of the model are expected to commence this November 2014, giving customers enough time to learn more about Peugeot’s newest special edition model.

After much speculation and teasing, McLaren released the all-new, P1 -inspired 650S in 2014. This model takes the place of the aging MP4, and delivers a mammoth 640 horsepower. Just a few months after its official debut, McLaren released a concept version of the 650S from its bespoke arm, McLaren Special Operations. This pitch-black concept obviously caught the attention of movers and shakers, as McLaren announced right before the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed that the MSO 650S would indeed be a limited-production vehicle.

This MSO 650S draws most of its styling cues from the concept that debuted in early 2014. Its carbon-fiber side wings and rear bumper center section, and rear diffuser are all taken directly from the concept. Even the sinister black color that the concept wore when it debuted is part of the production model. In fact, the only straying this concept-turned-production does on its way to driveways is the addition of new interior bits and some featherweight wheels.

In 25 years, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has become a cult icon and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling, two-seat, open-top sports car . But that is old news, and we are here to show you just what Mazda plans to do in celebration of the Miata’s 25th year in existence. The automaker is launching a 25th Anniversary Edition at the New York Auto Show to show buyers just how important the roadster is to Mazda.

This special-edition MX-5 Miata is based on the power retractable hard top (PRHT) version of the car, giving this drop-top a nice and quiet cabin when the top is up — I noted this in my recent test drive of the Club version . The 25th Anniversary Edition will be exclusively available in Soul Red Metallic — a proper color for the iconic sports car — with contrasting black mirrors, A-pillars and top. On the inside, the special model gets off-white leather seating and door trim, and a hand-finished decorative panel.

Under the hood, things will remain the same, as it will feature the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder mill that cranks out 167 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque when mated to the standard six-cog manual. You can also opt for the six-speed auto transmission, but that results in 11 fewer ponies under the hood. This special MX-5 also gets the added benefit of Bilstein dampers to keep it glued to the road in the twist.

Unfortunately, there are no real modifications to this car other than the exclusive colors inside and out, the hand-worked decorative panel and badges, but it is still a nice send-off for the NC-generation MX-5.

Updated 6/25/2014: Mazda will show off the 25th Anniversary Edition MX-5 at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and it has release nineteen new images leading up to its public showing.
