sports cars

Sports Cars are engineered to go around corners and straight lines as fast as possible. They are usually expensive, dangerous and so much fun that everybody wants one. Owning a sports car is a gratifying experience but it will cost you money and back pain as they are usually expensive to maintain and not very comfortable. But who cares as they look like supermodels at the beach.

Jon Olsson is a professional freeskier and alpine ski racer coming from Sweden. As he spends most of his life on the snow, you can imagine that for him a car specially equipped for the winter is a must. In the past years he prepared himself a very cool Lamborghini Gallardo to transport his ski, but also a specially designed PPI Design R8 Razor GTR , among many other.

Now his garage will also include a new Audi RS6 Avant specially designed for the winter season. Apparently the new RS6 Avant made quite an impression and this is why it was picked by Olsson: "this truly is the most impressive car I have ever driven, the only car that came close to impress me as much was the Agera R , so I think that says a lot!"

We are not very sure if a comparison between the Agera R and the RS6 Avant is accurate, but we just can’t wait to see all the updates the car will receive in the near future.

Until recently, Lexus has released a couple of teaser images of their upcoming RC F coupe. The company has been cleverly revealing just bits of the car as a lead up to the official reveal. Today, we bring you what could be the first leaked images of the actual car. These pictures have appeared in a Japanese magazine.

The January issue of the Japanese Best Car Magazine reveal the 2015 Lexus RC F coupe in all its glory. That said, we’re are still not sure if it is a well executed digital render or a studio image of the actual car.

The front three-quarter image clearly shows a hood scoop, special F mesh grille, air ducts in the front bumper and side vents next to the front wheel arches. The headlights on the model shown here are of the HID type with two in each housing.

This is a car Lexus wants to pit against the all-new BMW M4 . The sports coupe does have a tough task at hand especially since keeping it company is the biggest name in the segment. Unlike the BMW M4, the Lexus RC F could use a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with over 400 horsepower on tap.

The Audi R8 GT is limited to only 333 units worldwide, so you can imagine that the chance to own one is pretty rare. For us, a base R8 GT is powerful enough from factory and it needs no upgrades. If you forgot, it is powered by a 5.2 V-10 engine that delivers a total of 560 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. This amount of power is enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and up to 198 mph.

But, what while we consider this amount of power quite enough for a sports car, the guys over Underground Racing decided the R8 GT can do much better so they developed a first upgrade package for it.

The kit is called Stage 2R Twin Turbo and was specially developed for a customer that opted for the FULL 2R build. This setup makes an easy 1,150 whp on 93 octane pump gas and more than 1,800 whp on race gas.

Lotus Elise is anything, but a regular car and it appears that this latest review wants to highlight exactly this. The review was made by the guys over "Regular Car Reviews" whom describe the Elise as follow: "if the Lotus Elise was a person, it would be that jerk who eats nothing but fried rice and city chicken, yet never gains a pound."

As a reminder, the Elise is powered by a 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 134 horsepower. This output is enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 128 mph, although the car surely looks like capable of hitting a top speed of 200 mph.

Check out the video to see why they found the Elise a car that fits perfectly your every-day needs, but also why most of the people will envy you and will think you drive a car for the rich people.

What do the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series , Jaguar XKR-S GT and Aston Martin V12 Vantage S have in common? Pretty much nothing at a first look: one comes from Germany, two from the UK; one gets a supercharged V-8, one a V12 and one a naturally aspirated V-8 engine.

Still, the guys over the British magazine AutoCar wanted to see how the three cars will behave one next to the other and prepared a very cool test drive. From the beginning Autocar’s judge Steve Sutcliffe admits that the C63 AMG Black Series is his favorite super coupe is the C63 AMG Black Series and wants to see if the other two are powerful or delicate enough to unseat it and make him change his mind.

Check out the video to see if Sutcliffe changes his mind, or if the Mercedes sports coupe remains his favorite car!

For us, Alfa Romeo 4C is one of the best sports car launched this year and we can’t wait for the moment when Alfa Romeo will finally decided to bring it to the North American market. Until then however, we need to stick with all the news we get from others, like this cool video coming from the famous Marchettino.

He managed to shot a very cool video during a trackday event held by Top Gear Magazine Italy when the Alfa Romeo 4C started and revved its tiny 1,75 liter turbo engine. There also see a series of accelerations and fly bys on track, making us even more jealous than before.

As a reminder, the 4C is powered by 1,75 liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 240 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque between 2,100 and 4,000 rpm. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 160 mph.

The world went crazy this year with the launch of the seventh generation Corvette , so is a little bit surprising to see that there are people still interested in the old, C6 Corvette .

The guys over Supervettes spent the last four years developing a very cool aero kit for the sixth generation Corvette . Currently the kit is suitable only for the C6 Corvette, but the tuner announced the kit will also be adapted to suit the C7 version once the car will be out in the wild. The kit borrows some design elements from the C7, with the rear being the most obvious influence.

The new SV8.R C7 aero kit from Supervettes will be limited to only five units and three of them were already sold. The price for the kit is $59,995, not including the donor car - an interesting offer considering the new Corvette Stingray is priced at $51,995.

Bad Dream: The New 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray from Jeffrey Hart on Vimeo.

According to the dictionary, dreams a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. We know what people dream about when they sleep, but what about cars, what do they dream about when fall asleep? Do they dream about happy things or do they have nightmares?

According to Jeffrey Hart, a McLaren MP4-12C has the strangest nightmare while asleep. So, what does it dream about? Its competition of course: the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray .

In its dream the new Stingray revs its engine, pushes the road to the limit and shows what it is capable of, making the MP4-12C all sweet and scary. The idea behind the commercial is: "the official car of their nightmares is the car of your dreams." We have to admit it is quite an interesting idea and makes the commercial very cool.

While the world’s attention is focus on the recently launched M235i sports coupe , the German tuner Manhart Racing came with a very cool update for the old M135i. The tuner’s package is called MH1 400 and is a clear indication of the engine’s new output: 400 horsepower.

In order to obtain the extra power, the tuner remapped the 3-liter, straight six-cylinder engine’s ECU and installed a new, stainless steel exhaust system with two end pipes measuring 90 mm (3.54 inches). As a result the M135i is now delivering a total of 403 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.

The only problem is that the speed limited was not removed, so the new MH1 400 still goes up to 155 mph.

In order to handle the extra power, the car was equipped with a new, KW Clubsport-coilover suspension system and new, 380 mm (14.96 inches) and 356 mm (14.01 inches) brake discs gripped by eight and four-piston calipers respectively
