At the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Spyker->ke84 announced its global resurgence with the unveiling of the B6 Venator - a concept car that previews a future Porsche 911->ke282 competitor set to be unveiled in early 2014. The concept we saw in Switzerland was shown only as a coupe, but it looks like a roadster version will also be offered.

The announcement was made by Spyker in an official document revealing the company's financial situation. Talking about the new B6 Venator, Spyker said: "The response has been very positive and we are confident that we will be able to build a strong order book for the B6 Venator. We intend to launch the Spyder (open) version of the B6 Venator later this year."

We expect the Spyder version to look nearly identical to the coupe version, except of course its soft top.

Updated 08/08/2013: Today, Spyker dropped the first teaser image and the confirmation that the B6 Venator Spyder will make its world debut on August 16th, 2013 at Pebble Beach.

Exterior

On the outside, this sexy machine is 100-percent all Spyker, with its flowing, ridge-less bodylines, simple but sexy rounded front grille, and headlights with LED light rails that make the B6 look as it its flying pas while its standing still.

Down the sides, just aft of the front seats, Spyker installed a pair of air intakes to help keep that powerful engine nice and cool.

Out back, it is all Spyker again, as the quad 3D LED taillights deluminate to leave just black recesses that add some mystery to the backside. Under these taillights sit a pair of oval tailpipes that likely emit one of the most wonderful notes in he supercar realm. These tailpipes integrate into an aggressive-looking rear diffusor to give those behind you -- which there will be plenty of -- a great view.

On the outside you'll also find the brand;'s Axiom “Nulla tenaci invia est via” printed on the leather-highlighted fairings.

Interior

Once you enter the cabin, you'll feel right at home, as it is compact but comfy and luxurious but tastefully done. The full-leather interior is from the Litano range and features diamond quilting on the seats and kick panels.

the interior harkens back to the airplanes of yesteryear, specifically the retro-styled gear selector, which is a love-it-or-hate-it design. Also inspired by planes of the ages is the B6 Spyder's center stack, which is a textured metal -- likely aluminum -- with switches and gauges that look just like what you would find on a classic plane.

Spyker did not outline the standard interior features, but the images show us what looks to be an 80inch LCD touchscreen.

the cabin is capped off with a leather-wrapped, perforated steering wheel with a flat bottom aluminum posts and some of the most stunning turn signal levers ever.

Spyker B6 Venator Concept

The B6 Venator features the usual Spyker design language, with a V-shaped radiator grille, aerodynamically shaped glass aircraft canopy and the 3D LED rear lights. The interior offers innovative features, like the Litano leather produced by Royal Hulshof Dutch Tanneries in Lichtenvoorde, but we do not expect to see this in the production version.

The B6 Venator is powered by a V-6 engine that delivers a total of 375 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Competition

Porsche Carrera 4

The new-generation Carrera 4 was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Auto Show and it is now on sale at a price of $102,930 (for the convertible version).

The base version is powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six engine that delivers a total of 350 horsepower, but customers can also opt for the 4S version which gets a 400-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six. The base version can hit a top speed of 177 mph, while the 4S version goes up to 183 mph.

Jaguar F-Type Roadster

When it comes to sport roadsters, the new F-Type is definitely our favorite model. It looks amazing, it comes with three engine choices and it is priced from only $69,000.

The base F-Type is powered by a supercharged V-6 engine that delivers a total of 340 horsepower, while the S version’s output is increased to 380 horsepower – about the same as the B6 Venator. For those with more money, Jaguar also offers a 5.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 495 horsepower.
