The new Audi RS6 Avant is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter, V-8 engine that delivers a total of 560 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful sports wagons out there. Even the best can be better sometime, so the German tuner O.CT Tuning found a solution to improve this output even further.

The tuner is offering two stages of upgrades for the RS6 . In Stage 1, the engine electronics are heavily modified, pushing the V-8 engine to a blistering 670 horsepower and a peak torque of 649 pound-feet.

With the extra 110 horsepower under the hood, the RS6 awakens to a tune of 0 to 60 in 3.4 second. Top speed is increased to 190 mph, but an optional set of tires allow O.CT to unharness the RS6 to a top speed of 200 mph.

A Stage 2 upgrade is also available, and it includes an additional sports exhaust system that adds another 10 horsepower to the output level delivered by stage 1.

The Tokyo Motor Show is shaping up quite nicely, and Subaru will be on hand to present a handful of concepts, including one that’s Suby is calling the LEVORG Concept.

The etymology of the LEVORG name apparently was taken from a combination of "Legacy", "revolution", and "touring," a three-name combo that leaves us a little confused, honestly.

But hey, it’s Subaru’s concept so we’re going to stick with what its decisions for it are, including the name.

The Japanese automaker is touting the LEVORG Concept as a "sports tourer" that will serve as a preview for a production model that will be launched next year in Japan, with the possibility of getting some international love if vehicle meets the company’s expectations.

Subaru also released a handful of teaser photos of the LEVORG Concept and from the images, it looks like the tourer carries the same design language that Subaru is using these days on a handful of its new models, including those slanted headlights that we also saw on the 2013 Subaru WRX Concept . A fancy set of alloy wheels are also part of the concept’s package, as will be a horizontally-opposed 1.6-liter turbocharged engine.

No details on performance numbers have been released but we imagine the car to get something along the lines of 150 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque.

This Mercedes C63 AMG really is a nice piece of eye candy, isn’t it?

Thanks to car wrapping specialist FolienCenter-NRW, in collaboration with aftermarket company SR-Performance, we can safely say that you have a C63 AMG that has the looks to match its downright sick performance credentials.

The first order of business is to give props to FolienCenter for dressing up the sports wagon with a cool Matte Bond Gold Metallic finish that not only adds a cool touch to the C63 AMG , but also adds some added character to make the vehicle more pleasing to the eyes. A contrast glossy black color was then used on the roof, roof-mounted luggage rails and the door handles, providing a neat touch of balance on to give the car that subdued sparkle attributed to the entire wrapping package.

Moving on to SR-Performance’s contribution to the program. The tuning firm, known for its impressive power upgrades, added a host of new components to the entire engine makeup, including air filter inserts from BMC and Milltek racing catalytic converters with pre-catalytic converter replacement pipes. Combine both of those with a remapped ECU, and you’re looking at a car that now produces 540 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque. That’s a healthy bump from its stock 457 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque.

Who cares if this C63 AMG is carrying all that booty; anytime you can get that much power out of the car’s engine, that’s a good tradeoff to have.

All this talk of gorgeous HD Point-of-View driving videos reminds me of a knockout drive to share here as part of a travel article.

The four videos show the high-def ascent of the Pikes Peak Toll Road outside Colorado Springs, Colorado. Taken earlier this summer by none other than this grinning goon.

The car of choice for this adventure is the only car for the job, in my opinion. My cherished but battered 2005 http://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru... Subaru Legacy GT manual Wagon.

This is the car that I mention in my bio as currently non-functional in garage ion the updated TopSpeed Team page...

It is still needing a big electronics overhaul to come back to life as spunky as it was when new.

But watching the clouds roll by while the upgraded turbo spins furiously and boost spikes as high as 19 PSI.

Climbing Pikes Peak takes about 45 minutes and costs about $12.00 per car. It is mostly tourists driving very slowly, with double yellow no-passing zones all the way to the top.

But on that rare sunny day, the only things slowing you down are fear of heights and the thin atmosphere at the 14,000-foot crest of the peak.

Click past the jump for the next four videos in this series, in order, going up and coming down the legendary Pikes Peak in all its high-definition glory.

It looks like Volvo got pretty excited about the success the new S60 Polestar is enjoying and decided to also develop a V60 Polestar version. The model was caught testing today by our spy photographers, and, as no surprise it will follow the same design language we have seen in the previously launched S60.

The model wears a little camouflage - mainly on the parts that are going to be updated as part of the Polestar package. Still, you can notice a more aggressive front end that features aerodynamic lip spoilers, huge, sporty wheels, wrapped in high performance, low-profile tires, and large Brembo brake calipers. For the rear the model gets an air diffuser panel visible between the exhaust outlets, as well as a roof spoiler. Just like with the S60 Polestar, the new V60 Polestar also wears the traditional "Rebel blue" exterior paint.

Under the hood, we expect to see a tuned up version of the turbocharged, 3.0 liter six-cylinder that will deliver around 350 horsepower. The engine will be mated to an all-wheel-drive system as standard.

What we can not say for now, however, is if the new V60 Polestar will be offered only on the Australian market, just like the S60 Polestar or if it will be offered worldwide, but we have big hopes for it.

The current Polestar engine upgrade is available for all T6 engines in the Volvo U.S. lineup, but does not bring the enhanced aero and other heavy upgrades seen on this full performance specification.

Land Rover Defender

It is indeed a sad day as we learn of Land Rover’s plans to end production of the iconic but barely road-worthy Defender .

Automotive News reported that recent sales stats of this lovable truck are in a tailspin during its last years on the market before saying ‘bye bye’ for 2015.

U.S. federal safety, emissions and import duties on small trucks keep the go-anywhere vehicle from roaming our shores with its lack of compliance to such thing as crumple zones and airbags. The one Defender we did get is long gone even in England: the V-8 automatic convertible two-door. Almost all green and very charming, these were the rich-guy Wrangler Jeep of the 1990s.

In the markets where it is sold outside the UK, like continental Europe, 50 years of history is almost a negative feature versus ultramodern crossovers. The Defender’s main problem is that it drives like a ’lorrie’ and is more uncomfortable and thirsty with diesel than one too.

Europeans have simply lost interest in the Defender, with Land Rover selling a mere 561 units in the first eight months of 2013, according to JATO Dynamics.

The historic SUV first saw production in 1983 and was sold within the US in very limited numbers. It was built on both a 90-inch or 110-inch wheelbase and featured a variety of different powerplants - both gasoline and diesel – and body configurations.

The Defender ’s extreme prowess off road and its rarity have earned it a cult following among enthusiasts. Such conditions have kept values for Defenders rather elevated for those in the US – even causing some to enter the country via the black market and away from Uncle Sam’s watchful regulatory eye.

However, there may be a silver lining in losing the Defender . A replacement for the hard-hitting rover is likely in the works and would be built well within the safety standards of governments world-wide and feature amenities buyers no longer consider optional. Power steering, a suspension that absorbs bumps and strong A/C are all features the Defender lacks.

Much of JLR’s cash is tied up trying to resuscitate Jaguar, so the Defender is taking a back seat in the new world of Euro6 and Cafe fuel standards.

"The Defender replacement remains far from ready due to a lack of volume and weak business case," analyst Max Warburton with Bernstein Research wrote in a recent report on Jaguar Land Rover.

Land Rover did show the DC100 concept at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show , but according to Warburton, the project has since been scrubbed.

He says Land Rover is currently mulling over an aluminum-bodied vehicle that would employ the current Range Rover’s underpinnings as a possible Defender replacement.

Alpina announced its first D3 program back in 2005 and the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show brings the next logical and consistent step: the new D3 Bi-Turbo. During its short history, the D3 was sold in more than 2,000 units, making it the best sold Alpina to date.

The new D3 is based on the BMW 335i sedan and station wagon, and updates the model to outstanding performance numbers. On top of the awesome performance numbers, the D3 is also rather easy on fuel, making it the perfect combination.

As with any other Alpina model, updates on the exterior and the interior are kept to a minimum, as the tuner focuses most of its job under the hood. There is a highly update engine and transmission, refined chassis, upgraded suspension and brakes, and a new, optional all-wheel-drive system.

Updated 10/11/2013: Alpina unveiled a new video (above) in which it explains the technological features behind the new D3 Biturbo. Enjoy!

You may think that folks at Audi headquarters are rather busy developing all those cool models, but they always find some time for a little play. The above video outlines their latest play session, as they set up a paint-ball game between the new Audi RS6 Avant and free-running supremo, Damien Walters.

Of course, the one having the most fun is Ex-Stig, Ben Collins, who was chasing Walters around in the Audi RS6 Avant. We’re pretty sure that both men had tons of fun, but Collins got to do so behind the wheel of a super-powerful wagon.

It doesn’t really mater who actually won this game, all it maters to us is that Collins put on one heck of a show behind the wheel, and we enjoyed every second of the game.

The 2014 TSX Sport Wagon is the perfect example of Acura giving shoppers a competitive, unique and well-built luxury station wagon for just above $30,000. And what does the market say in response to the only low-roof hauler in a time when Shooting Brake and coupe bodies have never been hotter?

The market yawns, then saunters over to the RDX sitting nearby in the (usually totally empty of humans) Acura showroom floor. A slightly taller ride height and a V-6 engine are available for a few thousand over this classy and nimble TSX Sport Wagon.

For that cash, the RDX brings much, much newer infotainment controls and available AWD that the TSX lacks.

But the RDX is wearing (even worse) looks these days that are like a melted and shrunken MDX. Or maybe a mushed up Starburst candy.

So the RDX solution is not quite as appealing as when the RDX was a spunky turbocharged bandit.

After being outsold by the brand’s crossovers by more than twenty to one, the TSX wagon is 100-percent carryover for 2014. Some new pics that are not renderings or a photochop are welcome from Acura , but the TSX is in a holding pattern while Acura tries to define its future strategy.

The TSX Sport Wagon is not alone in offering frugal family transit with great quality and handling. The BMW X1 is a sporty and quick rear- or all-wheel-drive crossover new in America for 2013, while the Mazda CX-5 is even a bit more eager in corners than the Acura .

But for the shopper who really wants to make a wagon envy statement?

Please follow the jump for all the details on the 2014 Acura TSX Sport Wagon.

The current-generation Mercedes E-Class was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and since then, the model hasn’t had many changes. That will all change in 2013 when Mercedes brings out the first facelift for the E-Class . The model is set to be making its world debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but the first official details have been already dropped.

Mercedes announced that all the changes made to the E-Class will represent more than just a mid-life revision and will add to the luxury sedan "an elegant, refined and yet sporty look." On the exterior the most obvious change includes the replacements of the old headlamps with new, one-piece assembly with LED DRL. As a first for the E-Class, Mercedes has decided to offer different front updates for the Luxury and Sport versions, while the interior has been subtly revised and harmonized with the expressive exterior.

On the U.S. market customers will have to choose between a V6 and a V8 petrol engine, while the old E350 diesel has been replaced by a new E250.

Updated 12/14/2012: Mercedes has unveiled two new video for its new E-Class facelift models. In these trailer videos, you will get to see the E350 in action. They new videos are the first two after the jump. Enjoy!
