The tuning specialist Steinmetz is showing off their Opel Insignia Sports Tourer kit at Tuning World Bodensee 2009. The kit consists of a new front grill, new rear wing, a set of 20 inch rims and a 25 mm drop in ride height. Steinmetz has also added a little performance to the 2.0 CDTI powered Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.

The Opel tuners Steinmetz has chosen the Agila city car for an aesthetic upgrade. Steinmetz has lowered the car with a set of sports springs and bolted on a set of 17-inch 15 spoke rims. The exterior is finished off with a pair of anthracite and silver stripes running the length of the vehicle.

Opel may have touched on a winner with the new Insignia. After all, there weren’t a whole lot of tuners getting in line for the last executive sedan, the Vectra.

One example of what can be done with the Insignia was assembled by the German tuner Steinmetz. The modification package includes a body kit, more rigid suspension, improved brakes and ST7 20" alloy wheels in a choice of white or black. The body pack consists of a front lower spoiler, a rear spoiler, a custom grill, and new side sills. A little extra power should also be added to the Insignia through a high-flow exhaust system, which accents a two-branched twin-rear first-rate steel muffler.

The only thing wrong with this set up is Saturn still hasn’t been confirmed to get it own version of the Insignia yet. So it’s still anyone’s guess when the Insignia will make it Stateside.

If you’re driving in a big crowded city then you sure dream for a car such as Corsa OPC, the furious 202HP “race car” prepared by Steinmetz. The new Corsa offers a modified exhaust which not only gives an extra 10 HP but provides a deeper note too. Wheel and tyre combinations from 16” to 19”are also available on the car, the ST3 can be fitted in size 8.0J x 19“ and the ST4 in 8.0J x 18“. The powerful engine develops 141kZ/192HP as standard, has been improved with 7kW/10HP due to the use of the new left/right silencer system.

The package offers also a lowering kit and so it brings the car 30 mm nearer to the tarmac. This reduces the vehicle’s roll tendency and lowers the centre of gravity which means that the car will have better road- holding. Regarding the aerodynamics, the power of the front is emphasised by a front grille Type II in combination with its vertical double strut and 2-piece front spoiler. The front and rear sections are linked by the new Steinmetz designer stripes in silver or anthracite. The interior is enhanced by foot mats with stainless steel.
