Subaru announced today the major features exhibit at the 78th Geneva International Motor Show: the Subaru Legacy Subaru Legacy and the Outback powered by the company’s unique Subaru Boxer Diesel and due to be released into the European market ahead of other parts of the world.

Next to them Subaru will also exhibit the new Subaru Forester, which will make a debut in Europe, the Subaru G4e Concept and the Subaru R1e electric vehicles.

Subaru Legacy 2.0D and Outback 2.0D

The Boxer Engine has a displacement of 1998 cc, a maximum power of 147 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The CO2 emissions is of only 148 g/km.

the Subaru Boxer Diesel is mated with Subaru’s unique symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) to achieve driving performance standards only Subaru is capable of. These standards include high-level stability and outstanding acceleration thanks to powerful low- and medium-speed torque.

Subaru is discontinuing the Legacy wagon. The idea is to end product confusion. The Legacy and Outback have both been sold as sedans and wagons. For 2008, the Legacy will be a sedan. The Outback will be the wagon. Subaru has concluded that buyers who considered the Outback wagon didn’t consider the Legacy wagon, and that the Outback and Legacy versions of the sedan appear indistinguishable. Subaru of America, Inc. today announced that the 2007 Subaru Legacy Subaru Legacy and Outback earned the highest rating in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash tests. Subaru enthusiasts would agree with me on this one: at some Subaru must bring the Subaru Legacy STI to the United States. Subaru’s Vice President Tomohiro Ishitobi assures us that they plan to "widen there Sti’s offerings in the United States." Which will come first though : the Forest STI or the Legacy STI? Judging by the recent sales of the Subaru Legacy Subaru Legacy STI vehicle in Japan, which sold faster than a Nintendo Wii with 600 copies all accounted for within the first month of January, (...)

Subaru of America today presented the North American debut of its re-designed 2008 Subaru Legacy and Outback models, at the 2007 North American International Auto Show at Cobo Hall. Subaru also debuted its new flagship sedan model, the Subaru Legacy 3.0 R Limited, a first-ever 6-cylinder Legacy model for the North American market.
