Subaru Australia unveiled a new special edition based on the Impreza WRX sedan. Called the WRX Club Spec 10, this special edition will be limited to only 250 units and will be priced at $49,990. Sales will begin in May. This special edition will be distinguished by an STI front lip spoiler, a flexible strut tower bar, a flexible lower bar and front support kit, 17-inch Enkei alloy wheels, factory-fitted leather seats, sunroof and satellite navigation. At $49,990, it seems that consumers will only be paying for the exclusivity of owning this special edition considering not many fancy upgrades have been made to substantiate the dramatic increase in price. Of course, if this is the type of thing that tickles your fancy then feel free to head down to the Subaru dealerships where they are now taking orders for this special edition model. It seems that Americans always need to be on the least when it GOOD cars where on the street of other country! Or its just the Americans where so special!
The running gear upgrades are undoubtedly aimed at the Aussie track-day crowd, but between its high price and older body style, the WRX Club Spec 10 doesn’t appear to be good value.
Is it like you guys haven’t seen this shape Impreza before. Sedan has been out for long enough now to at least NOT hear the usual and its ugly etc..Suppose you drive a dream machine do you?? The flexible brace in question is by STi and supports the two strut towers when cornering hard by limiting any flex between the 2 towers and keeps the car flatter when cornering.
What’s the point in making it cheaper by 2k knowing that since it will initially be limited production, driving up the price by...oh about 2k.
I’ve seen this "flexible bar" before in the s204, it’s actually a damper made by Yamaha. I can only assume it’s to increase cornering stiffness while maintaining compliance over bumps. Basically you can have the damper very stiff in low speed compression (turning) and soft in high speed (bumps)... same concept as 2-way dampers
Too much for the special edition. I really don’t know why Subaru release to much Edition of the Impreza. I bet many consumers are getting hard to choose which car would they pick.
Wow, a limited edition for only 50 grand, cool. But, the question will be to which countries will it be available since it would only be producing that much unit for the car. Will it be distributed exclusively nationwide?
