2011 Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept

Next to the production BRZ sports car , Subaru will also be unveiling the Advanced Tourer Concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. This concept is a revolutionary sports tourer that previews a new generation sports wagon and features an innovative exterior design and a new downsized direct fuel injection turbo engine.

The new Advanced Tourer Concept is defined by the company’s latest "Confidence in Motion" design language and gives the impression of a coupe style car. The concept’s entire roof is made of glass, while the inside layout features various elements such as wood and metal. The steering wheel includes a large monitor that allows access to maps, television, and internet services.

Under the hood, Subaru has placed a new downsized direct fuel injection turbo engine that the company says will help improve fuel economy drastically. It is a 1.6 liter engine equipped with a direct fuel injection
system that injects the necessary amounts of fuel into the cylinders at appropriate moments, and a turbo system which efficiently supplies large amounts of air into the cylinders. The engine will be coupled with Subaru’s continuously variable transmission and to a Symmetrical AWD
technology.

It looks good on that picture above but I am not that impressed. Look for its competitors, they offers a lot better features than this. Anyway, this wheels are stunning!

Well, I have to agree that Subaru seems to copy the Audi cars’ features most specifically on its grille and headlamps, so it is definitely an innovative concept just like what the article said.

SUBARU HAS HAD AN IDENTITY CRISIS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. THEY CAN’T SETTLE ON A FRONT DESIGN, THE GRILLE HAS CHANGED HOW MANY TIMES NOW? NOW IT LOOKS AS IF THEY ARE JUST GIVING UP AND COPYING AUDI WITH THE GRILLE AND HEADLIGHTS. GET SOME ORIGIONALITY OR THEY ARE GOING TO GO THE WAY OF SATURN, PONTIAC AND PLYMOUTH, BYE BYE!
