2012 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Subaru is making a quick turnaround with its XV Concept car by offering up a production model in the same year. The concept was revealed at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show while the production version was officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Known as the Impreza Outback in the US market, the new XV Crosstrek was introduced to show an SUV that will "define a new generation of Subaru crossover vehicles."

The concept was favorably received globally thanks to its distinctive and trendy design which blend a crossover-like commanding silhouette and an urban friendly image into one harmonious and elegant package. The Subaru XV’s design symbolizes the fusion of SUV functionality and urban persona. IT carries a crossover design that combines a stylish, flowing form with the overall functionality of an SUV.

The hexagon grille and hawk eye headlights emphasize a unique identity of Subaru’s future line-up of vehicles. The corners of the front and rear bumpers come with special edges that aids and improves aerodynamic performance, which in turn provides better fuel economy.

The interior of the XV is as roomy and spacious as any of its contemporaries. Combine that with a stylish design that perfectly balances the different tactile and emotional qualities of leather, metal, and cloth and you have the best of luxury and modern-day technology in one fine interior cabin.

Whereas the concept car was powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder horizontally-opposed DOHC engine with an output of 150 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 146 lb/ft at 4,200 rpm, the XV Crosstrek will carry the same powertrain while also coming with a more palatable 1.6-liter petrol variant, as well as a 2.0-liter Boxer diesel engine.

UPDATE 11/18/2011: During the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, Subaru has revealed that the XV Crossover headed to the US will officially be called the XV Crosstrek. Subaru thinks this will help differentiate it from its brother, the Impreza Outback Sport.

This car is not that impressive. It looks the same as the Impreza hatchback, and it can only raise 8.6 inches off the ground. Nevertheless, it has a more chiseled and aggressive hood. I don’t like the color and the wheels.

There are characteristics of Subaru XV Crosstrek that I like including the spacious cabin and crossover utility in a compact knowledge. And what I love the most is the wheels, it looks very cute.

It looks cooler with a green body paint! smiley Well, I think that it is the best crossover vehicle that Subaru could produce. I just only hope that they already use an impressive engine on this.

They should really boost more the engine of this crossover so that it will truly have an awesome package that it can offer. Anyway, I wonder if what will be its interior look like?

I don’t get the point if why they say that it is the new generation for a crossover vehicle because I can’t see any special features that it has. However, I must say that I’m still impressed with the detailing of this vehicle.

The color option of this crossover is quite impressive and gives the elegant looks of it. smiley This SUV will surely can hit the market sale, anyway. I will still be looking forward to seeing the interior of it.

150 horsepower? Will that really work out? I don’t think that it can give a better performance on this crossover. As for the looks, I simply love the simplicity of it but I found it a very appealing car.

I love Subaru cars as always and XV Crossover the way its was made. I even like the concept and its elegant style that is still up to the trend and does like an urban stunning car.

I don’t see any reason why Subaru would cancel the unveiling of this XV, why don’t we give this car a chance maybe it will work and be the one of people’s favorite.

I think Subaru must not move fast for this new model. They can cancel the unveiling of this one for the car to make it more detailed. Well, in just few days, we will now hear the shout of people from Frankfurt. Hopefully, this car can compete on others.
