Subaru is planning to introduce the 2015 WRX S4 in Japan on August 25. Raise your hand if you didn’t see this coming. Don’t worry, you guys aren’t the only ones. The company has always been secretive when it comes to its vehicles, and is always careful not to leak out any information about them. Somehow, it managed to do it again because there’s little we know about the WRX S4 other than the assumption that it’s going to be a better-equipped version of the standard model.
The Japanese automaker did release a well-crafted press release, highlighted by a prevalent use of quotation marks that points to some clues about the WRX S4.
So the “S4” name apparently comes from the model’s four attributes, including "Sports performance", "Safety performance", "Smart driving" and "Sophisticated feel".
Combining all four elements into one car usually means that said car will be a premium model that makes good use of new technology to increase its appeal. In this case, the WRX S4 will come with the company’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. What we don’t know is whether it’s going to be an updated version or the system the current WRX employs.
The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to know all the details about the Subaru WRX S4. The company has made it clear that it’s unveiling the model on August 25. For now, all we need to do is wait for that day to come.
