A Supercar is a sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superlative to its contemporary sports cars. They are pure bestial look and performance. Even if you never own one of these they will change the way you feel about cars just by looking at them.

2011 Rimac Concept One

After being teased for quite some time now, the Rimac Concept One has finally made its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Concept One is not only the proof that "supercar" and "electric" can be used in the same sentence, but it also previews a limited edition model that will arrive in 2013 in a quantity of only 88 units.

Mind blowing as it is to comprehend, Rimac is promising an output that’s unheard of for an electric sports car. Concept One uses a unique powertrain which is divided into four sub-systems, each consisting of one motor, inverter and reduction gearbox. With a total output of 1,088 HP and 2,802 lb/ft of torque, the Concept One will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.8 seconds and comes with an electronically limited top speed of 189 mph.

The Concept One is the work of some of the most famous designers around the world. The carbon-fiber body is designed by Adriano Mudri, while the interior is designed by a team of former Pininfarina employees, led by Mr. Goran Popović.

2012 Lamborghini Aventador Supremacy by SR Auto Group

When it comes about the Lamborghini Aventador there isn’t much you can change. But as usual, its the little changes that make a great car looking even greater. And this is where tuners like SR Auto Group came into focus and they do their magic.

The tuner’s latest tuning kit is called "Project Supremacy" and we tend to believe they couldn’t find a better name for it. Just watch the images and you will agree with us. But do not imagine that SR Auto did some extraordinary changes. No! As usual they have only added a new set of wheels from PUR Wheels. In a 20/21" setup, featuring a modern matte-black face and the beautifully captivating, Rose Gold Lip, these new wheels seems to be just the right addition.

And when you add a Lamborghini Murcielago in the background then you definitely obtain an amazing combination. We’ll just hope you’ll enjoy it!

Photo-shot: Koenigsegg Agera R at GranTurismo Events Nurburgring

We have to be honest with you from the beginning: the Koenigsegg Agera R is by far our favorite supercar. And events like GranTurismo Nurburgring seems to be just the perfect place for it. We just have to thank Ansho Bijlmakers for being in the right place in the right time!

We have to remind you this is the same place where the Agera R managed to broke the Nurburgring record, hitting a top speed of 249.54mph, so do you believe us know when we say the GranTurismo Events Nurburgring is just the right place for the Agera?

The car presented at the event is a 2013 model, a car that comes with a few updates over the previous model: an output increased from 1,115 HP to 1,140 HP and gets an unique Triplex suspension and a new, lighter rear exhaust section. The car can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and has an announced top speed of 273 mph.

Ferrari chairman said to be "speechless" about the 2013 SRT Viper

With Chrysler and Ferrari both being owned and operated in part by Fiat, you could be mistaken for thinking that Ferrari played some role in the development of the brand new 2013 SRT Viper. However, as far as we know, the SRT subdivision created the Viper completely by itself but that hasn’t stopped Ferrari showing some interest in the car.

After all, the SRT Viper does appeal to a similar audience as Ferrari’s recently launched F12 Berlinetta as both can perform marvelously on the local race track and very well on the road also, with both cars having the technology to turn them into true GT cars.

As a result, it definitely comes as a surprise when one head-honcho at the competing company complements the competition, but that’s exactly what happened recently when Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo claimed he was “speechless” after seeing the new Viper for the very first time.

Chrysler chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne said the following while being interviewed on Detroit radio station WJR-AM, "I had the chairman of Ferrari down here for the board meeting last week and he had a chance to look at the car, and he was speechless. I mean, for Ferrari to admit that the car is a unique vehicle is a hell of a compliment to the work that’s gone on here. So I’m delighted. I mean, so far, knock on wood, we’re doing well."

When one takes a quick look at the SRT Viper’s spec sheet, it’s easy to understand why di Montezemolo was so impressed as its 8.4-liter V10 engine delivers 640HP at 6,150 rpm and 600 lb-ft at 4,950 rpm making it one of the most powerful V10’s in the world.

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Malaysia Limited Edition

Lamborghini is the kind of brand that likes to appease their customers. So when the opportunity came for the Italian automaker to gain traction in a new Southeast Asian market, they decided to give its local clientele a special edition model to commemorate the occasion.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Lamborghini Gallardo Malaysia Edition.

Based on the Gallardo LP 550-2 and limited to only 20 units, the Gallardo Malaysia Edition comes with a choice of three unique colors: Arancio Borealis, Verde Ithaca and Blanco Monocerus. The car will also carry a Superleggera exterior kit that includes a more aggressive front bumper, new carbon fiber side skirts, a new diffuser, a titanium exhaust system, and an ’MLE Limited Edition 20’ plaque to highlight its special edition status.

As far as performance credentials are concerned, the Gallardo Malaysia Edition will carry the same 5.2-liter V10 engine as the LP 550-2 Balboni Edition. This model is capable of producing 550 horsepower with a 0-60 mph time of just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph.

Granted, the limited run nature of the Gallardo Malaysia Edition makes it a punch on the pockets of anybody looking to buy one of the 20 available models. Converted from local currency, the supercar will cost a tidy $554,000 and will be made available on a per-order basis.

Video: GTA Spano start, rev, and accelerations

Marchettino has impressed us with his video skills once again with a video featuring the brand new GTA Spano supercar. The video shows the car’s engine start up, along with a couple of revving scenes and some accelerations! Bottomline: This video is pretty awesome.

As a reminder, the new GTA Spano is powered by an 8.3-liter V10 engine placed in a longitudinal rear position that produces 780 HP and 678 lbs-ft of torque. If those 780 HP aren’t enough, GTA also offers a Bioethanol version that bumps up the power all the way up to 820 HP. The supercar can hit 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.

Let us know in the comments section below if you think the new Spano is as fast and impressive as the company hopes it is!

Video: 2012 Top Marques Monaco - Supercar Show

Our favorite Youtube user, Marchettino, has managed to delight us one more time by attending the 2012 edition of the Top Marques Monaco to film all of the amazing vehicles in attendance. We have to admit the list of supercars is quite impressive.

For those who don’t know, the Top Marques is an important supercar show that brings together some of the most expensive and exclusive supercars, hypercars, and tuning projects every year. It’s kind of like Christmas for us auto journalists, but without the big, jolly guy giving one of these supercars to us as a present. This kind of Christmas comes with huge prices and tremendous power backing it up.

Our favorite from the entire list of vehicles in attendance this year is the Koenigsegg Agera R, but the list is much, much longer.

Hit the jump for a full list of the cars featured in the video and pick out your favorite!

Police retrieve chef Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini Gallardo one year after theft

In what can only be described as a scene out of Mission Impossible, Guy Fieri’s 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo was stolen in May of last year by an extremely brave and stealthy burglar who scaled the roof of the showroom the celebrity chef’s Lamborghini was being stored in, before rappelling down, unlocking the garage door and driving off with unquestionably one of Fieri’s most prized possessions.

And almost exactly one year to the day since the theft, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and Mill Valley Police Department recently recovered the vehicle in the most unlikely of places. It was rumored that the robber may have sold off the car, but no, it actually turned up in a storage container in Point Richmond, California owned by a 17-year-old male.

The same teenager was recently brought to attention after firing at an occupied pickup truck from his blacked-out motorcycle. Fortunately, no one n that event was injured, but this goes to show that the suspect has clearly been in the criminal world for some time, as it takes some nerve to fire on innocent civilians. Actually it doesn’t only take nerve; it also takes extreme levels of stupidity.

Either way, the teen is likely to be charged for the theft of the supercar as well as the shooting in the coming days and we’ll be very surprised if he escapes substantial jail time.
