Toyota announced pricing on the 2009 Venza that made its world debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show. The car will go on sale starting early December with pricing ranging from $25,975 for the four-cylinder with front-wheel-drive (FWD) model to $29,250 for the V6 with all-wheel-drive (AWD).
Standard on Venza is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine which will deliver 182 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 182 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. Toyota’s internal estimates for Venza fuel economy are 21 MPG city/29 MPG highway on the FWD model.
A 3.5-liter V6 that will produce 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 246 lb.-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm is also available. The V6 FWD has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 19 MPG city/26 MPG highway.
Both engines are mated to a six-speed sequential-shift electronically-controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i).
Next to the Venza Sportlux By Street Image, Toyota will also display the Five Axis Venza Active Sports Versatility, which was created to illustrate the versatile applications of the new 2009 Toyota Venza with an emphasis on active sports. It is outfitted with several features offering unique solutions for the transport and storage of all types of winter sports equipment.
ASV exterior body enhancements include new front and rear bumpers and over-fenders for a more rugged appearance. Wider 20 x 10.5-inch wheels and larger diameter tires also complement the new look of the Venza AS V.
Toyota will unveil at the SEMA Show the SportLux Venza created by Street Image. It will be on displayed in Las Vegas from November 4-7.
The conceptual vision of the Toyota SportLux Venza by the Street Image design team was centered on a vehicle which could be offered as a factory tuned model. Taking cues from European tuners, Street Image added an assortment of subtle, yet aggressive, body kit modifications including a six-piece lip kit enhancement, rear hatch spoiler, custom grille and integrated hood scoop.
Its performance driven stance reflects the Toyota SportLux Venza’s substantial boost in power output. Among its many performance modifications are several components from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) including a supercharger kit. The SportLux Venza’s power surge is complemented with a height adjustable coil over tuned suspension and rides on Chrome Cognac No 20 Wheels measuring 24-inches and Toyo Proxy 4 performance tires. The massive wheels are controlled by 15-inch front and 13.6-inch rear TRD Big Brakes with forged calipers.
Toyota will present at the SEMA Show two Venza Projects; first is called Venza AS V (Active-Sports Versatility) and is developed by Five Axis, while the second one is called SportLux Venza and was designed by Street Image, Inc.
The Venza Five Axis will include new front and rear bumpers as well as slightly more aggressive over-fenders. Wider 20 x 10.5-inch wheels and larger diameter tires will also enhance the look of the Venza AS V.
The SportLux Venza will feature a premium navigation unit that is equipped with a full entertainment system. The engine’s output has been enhanced, and so has braking and suspension performance.
