I must say that despite of having a simple platform the appeal that it had was overwhelming.
With all this new technology it is amazing how dependable cars are. It is too bad most states stopped yearly inspections as many older cars in Arizona are poorly maintained and are dangerous on the road. It is also too bad that anyone can drive a car. When you are at a grocery store some of the handicapped people can barely walk and they can drive a car that needs some type of fast reflexes.
Given that it’s just 80 complaints I’m rather surprised. But given that I’ve driven one of these before I find it unsurprising too. The steering’s just so light and requiring corrections all the time for the little feedback it provides it’s not even funny.
When my wife and I bought her Matrix in 2003, it was referred to as a CUV back then - Compact Utility Vehicle. Sure, it’s a 5-door Corolla, but when the rear seats fold flat you get a LOT of room! We have impressed many people with what we’ve carried back there!
