The market of automotive customization is pretty hot these days, and the off-road scene is no different. Spiced up trucks with lift kits, big tires, and extra goodies are wildly popular. One Miami-based outfit is taking conventional Toyota Tundra trucks to the next level with a complete list of available custom options that make a stock Tundra a bad beast ready for the apocalypse.

The company is called Devolro and its current halo product is the Diablo, complete with a six-inch lift, 37-inch tires, massive bumpers front and rear, a winch, and enough off-road lights to turn night into day. The Diablo also has a secret under its hood: an available supercharger mounted to the Tundra’s 5.7-liter V-8. The blower takes the V-8 from a puny 381 horsepower up to a respectable 520.

Like any good custom shop, Devolro lets customers pick and choose what aftermarket bits they want added. Want a custom leather interior? Done. Need a lockable bed topper for storing gear in the dry? No problem. Want a high-tech infotainment system for staying connected while on an expedition? Sure.

The Swagger Wagon is rolling into 2015 with some minor changes and updates centered mainly around a few exterior cosmetic bits and a few interior pieces. The new Sienna minivan isn’t much different from the outgoing van, which debuted back in 2011. The Sienna dates back to 1998 when Toyota launched the all-new minivan as a replacement for the mid-engine Previa minivan. (Yes, the Previa’s engine sat under the front seats!) The Sienna then moved into its second generation in 2004 and onto the third generation in 2011.

Toyota decided to take an unconventional approach to launching the 2015 Sienna and has enlisted the help of three kid-caring, viral Interwebz families that will help promote the van’s image as a cool parent-mobile. The marketing strategy piggybacks on the success of Toyota’s Swagger Wagon campaign back in 2011.

Officially the new Sienna will be launched in person at the Artscape, a free-arts festival in Baltimore, MD that happens from July 18th through 20th. But for those outside of Baltimore, the parents behind “Action Movie Kid,” “Eh Bee Family,” and “Convos with My 2-Year-Old” will be touting the Sienna’s launch hard on the web.

The news about Toyota and BMW building cars together isn’t new, as the two companies finalized the partnership in January of 2013, but thanks to the Nikkei Asian Review, we’ve got some rumors as to what the two companies have been working on. Those plans revolve around the next-generation BMW Z4 and a revival of the famed Toyota Supra .

The Nikkei reports the two cars will share the same platform, manufacturing processes, and parts procurements. The two sports cars , however, won’t be sharing the same body style and will be sold under their respective brands. What’s more, these two cars could debut as early as 2017.

The report speculates whether Toyota would be able to adopt the same carbon-fiber-extensive construction style BMW has recently adopted, citing cost as the limiting factor. However, with the falling cost of carbon fiber and its exploding popularity, the material might be within Toyota’s reach. This is especially true for such a specialized sports car as the Supra.

The Nikkei report lacks further juicy details about the partnership or its planed products, but news seems rather certain. The 2017 date is still tentative, but the possibility still remains.

As far as powertrains, it’s anybody’s guess as to what will be found under hood. Perhaps BMW will provide a TwinPower, inline six-cylinder or maybe each automaker will supply its own powerplants. Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, with BMW and Toyota partnered together, the future looks bright with the addition of two exciting sports cars.

Toyota , a known force to be reckoned with in the alternative-fuel automotive world, is releasing its zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, aptly named the FCV, in the summer of 2015. Limited to California initially, Toyota asserts an impressive 310-mile range. Also, the company has announced a partnership with FirstElement Fuels, to make refilling more convenient, with 19 new hydrogen refueling stations coming to the California area. Expect 100 stations in a decade’s time. Also, Toyota claims that re-filling will only take five minutes; significantly quicker than a recharge in a Tesla or Nissan leaf , also zero-emission vehicles.

Out here in California, the newest fad is always in the spotlight, and this new FCV should certainly turn a few heads and make people take notice. Also, being a zero-emission vehicle, it will be eligible for Carpool Lane access. And, hey, anything to shave a few minutes off an LA commute is invaluable. Take it from this Los Angeleno.

The Prius is the flagship of the environmental movement. Toyota ’s wonder child has dominated the world of hybrids since its introduction in 2001. As a man with petrol in my veins and a favorite cars list that includes names like Porsche and Lamborghini , the Prius should be the antithesis of all I love about motoring. With a focus on quiet and environmentally friendly transportation, the Prius has been branded as one of the worst and most uninteresting thing to drive in the world.

This is my first real experience with Toyota’s darling though, and I wanted to at least give it a fair shake. The model sitting in my drive is the Prius V model, the largest of the family and the least fuel efficient. It has a CVT, some batteries and only two pedals. After a week with this machine and more than 500 miles I learned a lot about it.

Was it the terrible car I had feared or did it turn out to be something else entirely? Hit the jump to find out.

The Toyota GT86 and its Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S brothers were launched in 2012, with only the Suby and the Scion reaching U.S. shores shortly after. The triples share the same 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, boxer engine that generates 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The unit mates to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic and enables the sports car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 to 7.6 seconds.

Granted, the GT86 is not nearly the fastest sports car you can buy nowadays, but its sub-£26,000 sticker makes it affordable to the average Joe and quite the bargain compared to its competitors. However, the Toyobaru triplets are slowly but surely losing their appeal due to the fact that no true performance updates have been added in more than two years since their launch. But that’s about to change, as Toyota is getting ready to drop Subaru from the partnership.

Once that happens, Toyota will finally be able to develop a more potent, next-generation sports car, likely powered by a turbocharged engine and hybrid technology. Meanwhile though, it appears the Japanese are working on a new iteration of the current GT86, as confirmed by a new batch of spy shots we just found in our inbox.

The original Prius hit the streets of America back in 2000 with its Corolla -like looks and a funky hybrid-electric drive that was unlike anything else on U.S. roads except the two-seat Honda Insight. That first-generation Prius was replaced in 2004 with the familiar hunchback turtle look we’re all used to. The second generation is where Toyota really gained ground with hybrid sales, moving over 600,000 cars before the third-generation Prius took over in 2009. With the new model, the Prius gained a few reshaped exterior panels and a more futuristic interior while retaining is stellar fuel economy numbers. Since then, Toyota has moved over 710,000 third-gen cars.

I recently found myself behind the wheel of a 2014 Toyota Prius with the “Three Model” option package. One level up from the base model my tester came equipped with some nice features like a 6.1-inch touch screen in the center dash, Sirius XM radio, navigation, Toyota’s smart key entry and start system, and power windows. But despite those features, the car still felt very basic. Cloth seats, a rubber steering wheel, manual seats, and hard plastics everywhere kept the car feeling rather down-market.

Besides the interior’s shortcomings, the Prius performed just as you’d expect: slow and efficient. So does the car live up to all the hype that’s been following it all these years? Click past the jump to find out.

The Toyota Supra was designed to be a sporting machine that could compete with many of the major powerhouses of the day , but it wasn’t until the fourth generation Supra bowed in 1993, that the car gained its status as one of the all-time greats.

It featured an all-new exterior design that was more aerodynamic and much sportier looking than its predecessor. Gone were the sharp edges and pop-up headlamps to be replaced with long smooth curves. Along with the new look, the car also went on a diet losing 200 pounds or more, depending on the trim level.

As is the case with almost all major changes, fans of the car were worried Toyota was softening the intentions of the car. That was until they turned the key on the new drivetrains. While everyone thought Toyota was creating a friendlier, slower Supra, what it actually created was a supercar -eating monster that would grow into a cult icon.

A hybrid version of the Toyota GT86 isn’t part of Toyota’s future plans, putting to rest rumors that the company could use the technology to offer a different, higher-performing version of the GT86. The decision to set aside a hybrid GT86 was reportedly made because it didn’t make sense from a business perspective.

Toyota marketing director Fabio Capano told Autocar that the Japanese automaker has no plans of building a hybrid GT86 despite company engineers admitting that the technology is already at an advanced stage of development. If there were a business case to be made for the vehicle, Toyota would think long and hard about green lighting it. But like most companies, Toyota wants to prioritize its time and money in pursuing other projects and a hybrid GT86 isn’t on top of its "to-do" list. So why even bother, right?

If demand for a hybrid Toyota GT86 doesn’t justify the time and effort, then why would Toyota build it in the first place? Additionally, The GT86 prides itself on being an affordable sports car with adequate power behind it. Launching a hybrid version of the model could end up cannibalizing sales of the base sports car and other future endeavors, like the return of the Supra .

Instead, Toyota is focusing on using its "advanced" hybrid technology on a car that’s more suited for it. The long-rumored sports car collaboration with BMW is one such car that could make the most of a hybrid powertrain.

Some images are just really hard to digest, and these are a few of them. An impeccably maintained, 1967 Toyota 2000GT met a sudden and untimely death after an 98-foot-tall tree fell on it, crushing the supercar into a flattened mess in the Toyoma Prefecture’s Gokoyama area.

NHK is reporting that a 28-year-old driver was inside the car when the tree, which was already rotten inside, fell on it. Fortunately, the man only suffered cuts to his arms and legs, incredibly escaping more serious injuries, given the state of the 2000GT.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that this 2000GT, considered as Japan’s original supercar , appears to be beyond repair. It becomes even more sickening when you consider it was one of just 351 2000GT models Toyota ever built.

What’s more, a 2000GT actually sold for $1.15 million in 2013, making it the most expensive Toyota ever sold and the most expensive Asian car in history, according to Hagerty’s Price Guide.

Now all that’s left of this particular 2000GT are scrap parts. What a sad sight.
