When you have a pickup the size of the Ford F-350, the last thing you’d describe it is "eco-friendly". But somehow, EcoTrek was able to not only turn this monstrous Super Duty into a purring fuel efficient monster, but it does so while racking up the miles it takes before exhausting the tank.

If you think that your pickup is already awesome by doing a few hundred miles to a tank, EcoTrek estimates that the work they put on the F-350 allows it to rack up 1,800 miles per tank. The aftermarket company accomplished that by having fitting the 6.7-liter V-8 engine with a TransferFlow 50-gallon tank under the bed of the truck on top of a removable 75-gallon tank in the bed. With the work it put into the pickup, this F-350 is now capable of running on a variety of fuel options, including diesel, biodiesel, algae-based biodiesel or any combination of these fuels.

Moving past the extensive work done to make this F-350 into a long-distance warrior, EcoTrek also gave the pickup a 9-inch lift courtesy of a Bulletproof suspension with custom shocks and springs and a set of 20-inch BMF wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires.

Inside, the modifications continue with lockable storage cabinets, sleeping bags, backpacks, and a custom sliding shelf for the aforementioned locking storage.

Chevrolet has already introduced a handful of SEMA -bound vehicles for a handful of its models. Now it’s the big boys’ turn to get their share of the spotlight.

The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was only revealed a few months ago and expectations for the SUV are high, especially for a model that has received a surge in popularity in recent years.

At the 2013 SEMA Auto Show, the all-new Tahoe showed off its law-enforcement abilities with the Tahoe Police Concept, and just days later, GM released the production model. Unsurprisingly, the production version is literally identical to the concept.

As the name suggests, this SUV was treated to a full-on law-enforcement makeover, complete with a massive bull horn, emergency lights, police badging, and a new set of 17-inch steel wheels. Take a look inside and you’ll see a full gadgetry of police paraphernalia, including those mobile laptop computers, a police transmitter, and somewhere that we can’t see, we assume there are some firearms, or at least, firearm holsters in there, too.

Black has always been one of our favorite colors on SUVs. It’s sleek, it’s intimidating and it’s all around bad-ass.

That’s probably why we immediately stood up and took notice of the SEMA -bound Chevrolet Tahoe Black Concept when the automaker released details of the concept SUV.

It’s definitely a stylized version of the fourth-generation Tahoe and something that we should hope to see in dealerships sometime in the coming year.

There aren’t a lot of noticeable upgrades done on the Tahoe Black Concept, but the overall package is definitely production worthy, especially when you see the all-black profile come with a blacked-out exterior trim to go with an aerodynamic body kit package, tinted headlamp lenses, tinted windows and a set of 22-inch, custom-painted wheels from Chevrolet Accessories.

Even the interior joined in on the black treatment, thanks to the fine leather Chevy dressed it up with to match the Carbon Flash Metallic trim accents.

It’s not the flashiest program you’ll ever see at the 2013 SEMA Auto Show, but for our money, it’s one of those concepts that will likely have a future outside of only being displayed in auto events. We don’t know when it’s going to be, but we have a feeling that the Chevrolet Tahoe Black Concept will be a production model soon.

Somewhere in the mind of some aftermarket tuner, the thought of combing rugged functionality with luxury amenities sounds like a pretty good idea. But Cars by Kris isn’t just content with thinking about ideas like this; it actually put went all out and built one.

At the 2013 SEMA Auto Show , Cars by Kris presents the Ford Super Duty High Roller. The name already implies something that’s used to describe people living with affluent lifestyles and for the most part, the interior of this Super Duty speaks that kind of language.

You don’t normally see pickups carrying custom upholstery with hexagon stitching on the seats and custom gauges, but this Super Duty has this material in spades. Painted interior accents also adorn the cabin and the custom floor mats, while not really jazzing up the cabin, still give it the kind of personalized touch you normally associated with exotics. And to ensure that the cabin is as cool and pin-drop quiet, Cars by Kris installed a QuietRIDE Solutions system to reduce the amount of noise inside.

Moving outside, the aftermarket company gives the Super Duty all sorts of performance and handling modifications, beginning with a Banks Power performance products, a Straight-Shot Water-Methanol Injection System, iQ Man-Machine Interface and a MagnaFlow exhaust system, giving more life and power to its 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel engine.

Rounding out the mods for the High Roller is a Carli Suspension setup and a set of 22-inch, American Force, eight-lug wheels wrapped in Open Country tires from Toyo.

Ford is living up to the hype of Vandemonium with an armada of heavily modified Ford Transit Connect vans at the 2013 SEMA Auto Show .

It seems like an odd choice to showcase vans at the world’s premier aftermarket auto show, but the Blue Oval is determined to show that these family rides can be turned into something more than its billed and the company is going all out with it.

A total of 10 Ford Transit Connect vans are heading to SEMA, each packing its own unique set of modifications that distinct character traits, while also showcasing the surprising versatility and sophisticated appeal of the company’s resident people-mover.

Of the 10 models, Ford has already unveiled nine of ’em, including the Blood & Grease, which transforms the Trasit Connect Cargo in what’s described as a "high-end fashion boutique on four wheels".

Pretty interesting description, but its not the only model that was treated to an aftermarket upheaval.

There’s also the Impulse Marketing & Media Transit Connect Cargo, which has been turned into a baked goods delivery vehicle; the CGS Motosrports’ Transit Connect that has effectively become a mobile speed shop for the drag strip; the K-Daddyz Kustomz Transit Connect that was turned into a veritable mobile workplace for graphic design; the LGE*CTS Motorsports Transit Connect Wagon that has somehow morphed into a Cross Country cruiser with state-of-the-art technology; the Mobsteel Transit Connect Cargo that was not only lowered to essentially kiss the ground, but created as the ultimate mobile billboard promoting the Detroit Steel Wheel Company.

Those are just a few of the modified Transit Connect vans that are coming to SEMA. More are expected to be revealed in the coming days leading up to the show opening its doors in a little over a week.

The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle returns with some new and updated features that help it fight crime, fires, or whatever else you can throw at it. Available for police , fire, and general fleet customers, the full-size SUV offers best-in-class power and an array of new dashboard gadgetry that includes TFT and touch screen displays.

Offered with either the 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 or the 5.7-liter, HEMI V-8, the Durango SSV comes with Chrysler ’s new eight-speed, rotary-dial-controlled, transmission. Both engines lay down impressive stats, but on opposite ends of the spectrum. The V-6 is estimated to get 25 mpg and have a range of 600 miles; meanwhile, the HEMI can tow 7,400 pounds.

Expecting the Durango SSV would get abused, Dodge outfits them with heavy-duty brakes, heavy-duty battery, a larger-output 220-amp alternator, heavy-duty water pump, engine oil cooler, and a load-leveling suspension. Other options include skid plates on AWD models, backup camera, tow package, engine block heater and Uconnect.

All SSV Durangos have their third row seats removed for added cargo room, and come with extra under-floor storage compartments. Illuminating the interior is a red and white dome lamp while the outside gets the Durango’s standard LED daytime running lamps and rear ‘race track’ taillights. It also comes prewired for an A-pillar spotlight.

Standard Electronic Stability Control, electronic roll mitigation, Hill-start Assist, Trailer-sway Control, Rain Brake Support, and Ready Alert Braking help keep the Durango’s shiny side up while chasing perps and putting out fires.

Dodge is taking orders for the 2014 Durango SSV and production is already underway at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit.

BMW X3

The BMW X3 is getting a tech refresh in the next year or so, with nearly production-ready versions testing the new LED lights on the roads. Blinkers and low beams and DRLs... oh my!

We expect no major changes under the hood, so the revised X3 will offer the same engine lineup as the current model: a four-cylinder engine and an inline-six for the top version. Most likely BMW will work a bit on improving fuel economy and the output level.

Snappers managed to catch the upcoming revised version of the BMW X3 testing on the roads of Munich, Germany.

The car started to loose more of its camo, and reveals something very interesting:as revealed by the indicator stripe on top of the headlight, it appears that the revised X3 will focus its looks on the new 3 series LED and grille style.
