Dodge is expanding its Blacktop lineup with the addition of a new special edition based on the Durango . The new Durango Blacktop Edition is based on the Rallye and the R/T trim levels, and adds $295 to the SUV’s total price.

The model can be ordered in Bright White, Brilliant Black, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver and Redline Red, and is combined with a distinctive gloss-black crosshair grille and gloss-black 20-inch aluminum wheels with gloss-black center caps.

For the interior, the Blacktop models receive premium Digital Suede seat inserts complemented by Capri bolsters and red accent stitching. A power 12-way driver’s seat with power lumbar is available for an additional $595.

Under the hood, the Durango keeps the usual 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers a total of 295 horsepower on the Rallye models and a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces a hefty 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque on the R/T versions.

Land Rover knows that they have a gem in the Range Rover Evoque . With over 100,000 models sold in its first full year of sales, the Evoque’s popularity is only growing by the day.

So what better way to add more spike on that popularity than to release a special-edition Evoque that gives a completely fresh color scheme to the British SUV.

We don’t know about you, but this Sicilian Yellow Edition Evoque looks downright amazing. The ultimate compliment that you can throw at a car is your desire to buy one after just one look. We admit that the moment we saw this special-edition Evoque, that’s what immediately came into our mind.

Then, we remembered that we don’t have the disposable income to buy one so our fascination for it will probably remain within these pages for the time being. But if you’ve got the funds, we don’t see why you can’t look at this Evoque and not wish to have one in your garage soon.

Nissan UK has just added a new special edition to its Qashqai lineup in the form of the new 360, which replaces the n-tec+ and adds additional equipment for the same £19,945 (about $32,000 at the current exchange rates).

The new Qashqai 360 will be distinguished by a set of additional features like gloss-black roof rails, door mirrors and "360" badges. For the interior, the model will add part-leather trim with double white stitching, a gloss-black gearlever surround, gloss-black door handles and a leather armrest. The model can be ordered in a new Storm White exterior paint priced at £500 ($804) and will be offered with an exclusive set of 18-inch "Onyx" alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and a panoramic roof.

The list of standard equipment will include Nissan’s Connect with 360-degree Around View Monitor system with integrated satnav, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity.

Under the hood, customers can choose between all the engines and transmissions offered for the current Qashqai lineup, but Nissan believes the 1.6 dCi diesel with stop/start technology will be the most popular variant

It looks like 2013 started pretty crazy for Mini . The company attempted the world’s first unassisted 360-degree backflip in an automobile. Using a specially modified John Cooper Works Countryman and with French daredevil Guerlain Chicherit behind the wheel, Mini proved that the gravity can be defeated.

The Countryman JCW managed to hit a height of about 39 feet, but unfortunately the video does not reveal the landing. However, we do hope it was a successful one. We’re sure the complete video will be launched soon.

As a reminder, the Countryman JCW is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that delivers a total of 218 horsepower and up to 221 pound-feet of torque. The car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 7 seconds and is capable of hitting a top speed of 140 mph.

Our advice to you is don’t try this at home! You will learn everything there is to know about this attempt pretty soon when Mini will release the full details.

When we saw the first leaked images of the new Cherokee, we found them rather hard to believe; after all, they were revealing something never seen before on a Jeep model. Those images however were very accurate and the model finally made its world debut today at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

When initially announced, Jeep claimed the new Cherokee will deliver "even more best-in-class capability, exemplary on-road driving dynamics, and fuel economy improvements of more than 45 percent versus the outgoing mid-size SUV model," - aka Jeep Liberty.

The new Cherokee will be built at the company’s assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio and will be put on sale in the third quarter of this year. Customers can choose from the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Sport, Cherokee Latitude, Cherokee Limited and the Trail Rated Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

With a package name that is similar to a fax machine’s model number, the BMW SP6 X is Sportec’s attempt to change your mind about diesel engines. Sure, at one point in the past diesels were loud, rough and loaded with nothing but torque, but times are changing. We have a sneaking suspicion that this tune may change your perception of a diesel engine.

The package mainly focuses on the performance of the X6. In this example, the car is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder diesel engine that, thanks to Sportec, now produces 370 horsepower and 750 Nm (553 pound-feet) of torque, a nice bump from the stock 306 horsepower and 600 Nm (442 pound-feet) of torque.

This bump in output helps shave 1.1 seconds from its stock 6.5-second 0-to-60 mph sprint, which in real-time, 1.1 seconds seems like nothing, but in a 0-to-60 launch, that’s a lifetime. To add to the beefy upgrade, Sportec has also upped the top speed from 130 mph to 163.4 mph, making this Bimmer a touch more exciting.

Finally, the exterior features sporty exhaust tail pipes that breathe out more spent-diesel-fuel fumes and custom 19-inch OZ wheels to reduce the X6’s weight and add a little extra sport to its look.

So, do you still think diesel engines offer no fun?

The current generation RAV4 has been sale since 2005 and the only update was in 2009 when it received a mild refresh. It is no surprise that today, at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Toyota decided to finally unleash the fourth generation RAV4. The new SUV has been caught testing in many times and teased a few more times, so we can say it brings nothing that we did not expect.

The new RAV4 is not only redesigned both inside and outside, but it also receives new in-cabin technologies, a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, new six-speed transmission and new safety features.

While building the new RAV4 , Toyota will use the same body-engineering principles previously used on the 2012 Camry and 2013 Avalon that helps improve steering and handling, and makes the car a little bit lighter.

The new generation Toyota RAV4 will go on sale early in 2013 in three well-equipped grades: LE, XLE and Limited.

Updated 12/18/2012: Toyota today announced prices for the 2013 RAV4 SUV that will arrive at dealerships in early January 2013. Prices will range from $23,300 for the LE FWD version up to $28,410 for Limited AWD one.

How many of you remember the old Renault Scenic RX? For those of you who don’t remember, it was an attempt – a rather unsuccessful one — made by Renault back in 2000 to give the Renault Scenic an off-road look.

Renault has decided to apply the same treatment to the new-generation Scenic, but slightly toned down. When compared to the old RX version, which had a spare wheel mounted at the back of the car and offered a four-wheel-drive system, the new version will just have robust-looking bumpers, wider wheel arches and a slightly raised suspension.

Since the "Cross" look is getting more and more fans and more manufactures than ever are expanding their lineups with "Cross" or Allroad versions, Renault is also jumping on that train and its new model will most likely carry the same name.

Expect to see the new Renault Scenic "Cross" launched in March 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Just in time for the holidays, Land Rover has released a special edition version of the Freelander 2 , called the Black and White Edition. Makes for a nice holiday present, right?

Although there aren’t any performance enhancements, the Freelander 2 Black and White Edition differentiates itself to standard models of its kind through a list of aesthetic and aerodynamic enhancements, beginning with two color options that are based on the name it’s been given: Santorini Black or Fuji White.

Other enhancements include a gloss-black front grille, door handles and side vents. The SUV also has privacy glass, heated side-view mirrors, exclusive LED running lights and rides on a set of 17-inch split-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the Freelander 2 Black and White Edition comes with Ebony black cloth upholstery, power windows, 60-40 folding rear seats, eight-speaker audio system, seven airbags and Bluetooth connectivity.

Whether you opt for the front-wheel-drive or the four-wheel drive variant, both versions come with a 2.2-liter diesel engine, although the former has a 2.2-liter eD4 whereas the latter has a 2.2-liter TD4 diesel. Both versions produce 148 horsepower. The both engines come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for a six-speed automatic on the TD4 engine. The front-wheel-drive model squeezes out a respectable 47.1 miles per gallon and emits 158g/km of CO2. The four-wheel-drive model returns 45.6 miles per gallon and 165g/km of CO2.

All in all, Land Rover is building 600 units of the Freelander 2 Black and White Edition and have priced he eD4 model at £22,495 ($29,415) while the TD4 model retails for £23,495 ($30,700). We do not expect to see this model in the U.S., unfortunately.
