Video: NitroRCX Parodies Fast and Furious 6 Trailer

The Fast and Furious franchise is preparing to release the sixth installment in a month’s time and as you can expect, the hype and buzz surrounding the movie is deafening.

Recently, NitroRCX produced a short parody video of the Fast and Furious 6 Super Bowl commercial we saw last February. Although not entirely a parody in every sense of the word, the re-edited trailer does have one huge difference from the real version: it makes use of R/C cars in place of the real, live models used in the movie.

Despite the small flaws in the “remake,” this version of the trailer definitely hypes us up for the new movie.

A case can definitely made that this version made by NitroRCX has served as a better trailer for the upcoming blockbusters than any of what we’ve seen in the past months.

Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept

citroen ds wild rubis concept picture

French automaker, Citroen, is expected to be in attendance at the Shanghai Auto Show. But it won’t be there to just bask in the ambience; it’s headed there with a concept car, specifically called the DS Wild Rubis Concept.

As with most teaser photos (and videos) these days, Citroen didn’t reveal a whole lot of information surrounding the DS Wild Rubis Concept. What it did give us are a couple of teasers of the concept.

The teaser video, which you can find after the jump, plays to Citroen’s chic and metropolitan appeal, complete with a black and white treatment and minimal glimpses of the Wild Rubis Concept.

The photo, on the other hand, gives us a clear look at the concept’s headlights, or at least just one of them. As you can see, the new light setup is different from previous concepts we’ve seen from Citroen, particularly from the slit-like lights from the Technospace Concept.

We wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if this is a prelude to a production model that will be available only in the Chinese market.

Regardless, expect to find out everything there is to know about the DS Wild Rubis Concept when it makes its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. In the meantime, click past the jump to see the teaser video of the concept.

Video: Nissan GT-R testing in Japan

Nissan Japan has unveiled today a new video presenting the 2013 GT-R sports coupe testing ground in Rikubetsu, northern Japan. We will enjoy every road test offered for the GT-R, but we don’t know why, a test made on snowy roads is even more impressive.

The 2013 GT-R JDM Spec was offered as a sort of a preview version for the 2014 GT-R U.S. version that arrived on the market earlier this year. The model is powered by the usual twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter powerplant that delivers a total of 545 horsepower and 463 pound-feet of torque. For the 2013MY, the GT-R received new fuel injectors, a new oil pan baffle to stabilize oil behavior and oil pressure under high performance driving conditions.

Be sure to watch the full video to find out what an amazing car the GT-R already is and imagine just how awesome the next-gen model will be when it hits the market in 2015. By the way, there are two big surprises in the video, so watch closely!

Video: Red Bull Sets New Pit Stop Time Record in Malaysia

If we told you to do something in 2.05 seconds, about the only thing you can do is breathe, blink or if you’re lucky, a combination of both.

But for the pit crew of Infiniti Red Bull, 2.05 seconds is a long time, long enough, in fact, to successfully change four tires on a Formula One racecar in the middle of competition. In doing so, the 2.05-second pit stop has been recognized as a new world record for being the fastest pit stop in history, eclipsing the previous record set by McLaren a year ago when it recorded a pit stop of 2.31 seconds.

Actually, the McLaren time from a year wasn’t the record when Red Bull recorded its 2.05-second pit stop for Mark Webber. The record was 2.13 seconds that was also set by the team for Sebastian Vettel...12 laps earlier.

All in all, six pit stops from the 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix went faster than McLaren’s record last year, including one by the British race team who managed to post a new team record pit stop of 2.28 seconds.

It’s hard to imagine how you can successfully do a full pit stop in 2.05 seconds but if you need visual proof as to how those record setting two seconds happened, just watch the video and you’ll understand why those pit crew folks are the best at what they do.

And if you want to watch McLaren’s 2.31-second record-setting pit stop from Germany last season, you can find the video after the jump

Video: Audi R8 E-tron Featured in New Iron Man 3 Commercial

In the previous movie, Iron Man drove a standard Audi R8 sports car, but for the third installment of the series, Iron Man will be switching to the E-tron version. In fact, he will be among only a few in the world who have had the opportunity to actually enjoy the R8 E-tron, as Audi decided not to offer a production version.

The new commercial for the Iron Man 3 shows the electric supercar in action, and as we can see from the video, is a shame a production version will not follow.

The R8 E-tron is powered by four electric motors with a total output of 313 horsepower. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds, so bad guys won’t have a chance to outrun the Iron Man.

Iron Man 3 will be released on theaters on April 24.

Video: Rimac Concept One Puts the Ferrari 458 Italia in its Place

When it comes to stature, recognition and overall appeal, the exclusive Rimac Concept One still can’t hold a candle to the world famous Ferrari 458 Italia.

But everything else, well, that’s a different story.

In an attempt to show off the Concept One to the wealthy market in the Middle East, Croatian automaker, Rimac, decided to show what exactly its electric supercar is capable of. We already know the numbers: 1,073 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque, courtesy of four-in-wheel electric motors to go with a curb weight of 1,650 kg and a 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 2.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 189 mph.

The Concept One’s capabilities were in full display after Rimac decided to pit it against the 458 Italia in a good ’ol drag race to see which car has the leg up over the other.

It must be said, though, that the 458 Italia’s 562 horses doesn’t come close to the numbers the Concept One can produce, but the whole point of the race, at least as far we’re concerned, is to show everyone with the money to spare - about $1 million, give or take - that the Concept One is worthy of all that dough.

And quite frankly, we agree.

Video: Jay Leno Reviews a Deronda Sports Car

In the latest episode of his show, Jay Leno reviewed a car most of us have never heard of before: a Deronda Sports Car. The model was developed by British manufacturer, Deronda, and was originally offered with an Audi-sourced engine, but this particular model received a few updates.

Its owner decided to replace the standard engine with a Corvette V-8 engine that delivers a total of 400 horsepower. The gearbox has also been replaced with a new Porsche G50 transaxle gearbox.

According to Jay, all these updates have transformed the Deronda Sports Car into a striped out Corvette. Without the extra body panels and all those unnecessary gizmos, we bet this is one disgustingly fast machine.

To find out just how fast this V-8 powered superlight is and whether Jay approves or not, check out the above video.

Hit the jump to learn a few more things on the standard Deronda Sports Car.

Video: Nissan GT-R Sets Russian Ice Speed Record

A month ago, an Audi RS6 fitted with Nokian Tyres set the ice speed record, clocking in a top speed of 208.6 mph. It was a mighty impressive pace that should stand for a while, or at least until after somebody else decides to take a crack at it.

Recently, though, a bone-stock Nissan GT-R tried its luck in a crust of ice at Russia’s Lake Baikal. Piloted by Russian drivers Roman Rusinov and Andrey Leontjev, the GT-R set a pretty blistering lap time of its own, hitting a top speed of 294.8 km/h (183.18 mph).

It still fell short of what the RS6 was able to accomplish a month ago, but the time was still good enough to set the Russian ice speed record for a stock production car.

We know that records these days are only as good until somebody else beats it. But that doesn’t take away from the impressive feat Nissan Russia and the two racecar drivers managed to accomplish.

We give props where it’s due and the people involved in the attempt and subsequent record deserve a lot of credit. It’s not easy to drive on ice at such high speeds, but you all know that.

Video: 850-Horsepower Truck, a GT-R and Two Gorgeous Women - Monster Sure Knows Advertising

When you will start watching this video you will think it is all about the Nissan GT-R. Well, sorry to disappoint you, but no, the GT-R is not the star of this video. In fact, this video is about a 850-horsepower Trophy Truck with 34-inches of suspension roaring across the Mojave Desert at 150 mph.

There is nothing incredible, so far, right? After all everyone has heard about an 850-horsepower pickup truck, right? But this particular one does some amazing things: next to hitting an astounding speed on sand, it also does some pretty incredible acrobatics in the desert, including a massive leap over the broken-down GT-R.

The video is also spiced up by a pair of gorgeous women. We don’t quite get the girl doing a photo shoot next to the white M3, but were all for gratuitous bikini shot, especially when they get really dirty. No, not in that way, guys, you’ll have to see the video to find out what we’re talking about.

Please remember, behind the wheel was professional driver "Ballistic’ BJ Baldwin, so please do not try this at home.
