Volkswagen Beetle 2 coming in 2010
 
We reported previously that the second generation Beetle will be launched in 2012, but according to WindingRoad, the unveil will happen two years earlier, in 2010. It will be unveiled for the first time at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. Full story

This Beetle is an homemade project and is called Volts Wagen. It can run 40 miles on a charge and it reaches a top speed of 65 mph.
Millionth Beetle produced, next generation powered by rear-engine
Volkswagen will roll out this summer the millionth New Beetle. And to mark the occasion, enthusiasts from all over Europe will meet in exactly one month’s time on the New Beetle Sunshine Tour. In addition to standard models from the New Beetle and New Beetle Cabriolet range, many custom cars with special paint finishes and completely revamped bodies will be joining the parade along the Baltic coast. Google unveiled the other days a new service called Street View. And although the service only work for big towns, for now, is really helpful for the drivers. If you locate a street on the map, this service show you images of that street, so is easy for you to drive when you know how the place you are going to looks like. Herbie rides again
Racegoers at Oulton Park on Easter Monday (9 April) will need to check closely that one of the Beetles competing in the Volkswagen Racing Cup events has a driver at the wheel.
