  The sixth generation Volkswagen Jetta was launched in 2011. This is the second Jetta to be launched in india and the first jetta was launched in 2008. Its 2-litre diesel engine is matched to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. There is no petrol option and its competitors are the Chevrolet Cruze and the Skoda Laura.

Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen coming in USA in 2008

At Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen unveiled the Jetta Sportwagen (Golf Variant for the European market). The Jetta SportWagen will arrive in the U.S. around September as a 2008 model, with the same base engine as the Jetta sedan — an inline-five-cylinder and the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder. Volkswagen recalls 790.000 US vehicles

Volkswagen has announced it would recall 790,000 vehicles because of problems with the brake light switch. The recall involves several vehicles: 1999-2006 model years of the Golf and GTI, 2001-2005 Jettas, 2001-2007 New Beetles and the 2004 R32. It expands upon a recall announced last year of some Jettas and New Beetles because of the same defect. Volkswagen Jetta will get Bluetec TDI in 2008

Volkswagen Jetta sedan will be the first Volkswagen model to get the Bluetec-branded diesel engine in 2008. The Jetta will get its cleanest ever turbodiesel in the form of a 2.0-liter common-rail diesel. The engine will use an oxygen after-treatment system and a particulate filter to meet 50-state diesel emission requirements. 2007 Volkswagen Jetta "Clean TDI"

Volkswagen unveiled the cleanest ever TDI engine. First test drives demonstrate the high potential of Volkswagen technology, which consequently reduce nitrogen oxide. In the VW Jetta a new 2.0 litre Common Rail diesel engine with a nitrogen oxide reservoir catalytic converter was used, which complies to the Californian emission standard “Tier 2 / Bin 5”. These requirements are considered the most stringent worldwide. The first production run of the “Clean TDI” with nitrogen oxide post-treatment system will be made during 2008 in the USA.

$1600 for a lifetime of free gas

If you have $1600 and you don’t know how to spend them, how about invest them in your car. And now anyhow, but helping you to have a lifetime of free gas. Volkwagen has decided to commercialize its first hybrid car, entering therefore in competition with Toyota and Honda in a almost unexplored field for the European houses. Gay and straight cars for 2006

Wheels24 made an online poll in order to choose 2006 "Alternative Car of the Year". At the finish line, the pert Peugeot 207 was named "gayest" car, the buff Audi RS4 strutted in as "straightest" and the scrumptious derriere of the Alfa Romeo Brera kicked butt for the "rear of the year" title.
