  The sixth generation Volkswagen Jetta was launched in 2011. This is the second Jetta to be launched in india and the first jetta was launched in 2008. Its 2-litre diesel engine is matched to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. There is no petrol option and its competitors are the Chevrolet Cruze and the Skoda Laura.

A car known for its youth appeal, the Jetta has taken a more mature turn with the redesigned fifth-general iteration. Gone is the Teutonic styling, once elegant in its stark, purposeful appearance, replaced by a more staid, Japanese-influenced design.

Volkswagen is going to update its Jetta lineup with a new 5-doors model at the Paris Motor Show. The new model has a sweeping roofline like the new C-Class Mercedes Mercedes wagon or Saab 9-3 Sport Combi. The new Wagon, a 2007 model, has more cargo room, it will go on the same engine line-up: 2.5 liter Inline-5 and a 2.0-liter turbocharged. In 2008 it is expected a diesel variant.
