2010 Volkswagen Robust
 
Volkswagen is preparing to take on Toyota! The company decided is about time to have a serious competitor on the market, this is why they will launch the Robust pick-up in 2010. The Robust will be the first pick-up Volkswagen ever had (not including the "Taro" that was actually a rebadged Toyota Hilux).  The 2010 will be offered on markets from Africa and South America, but no news about being sold on the North American market yet. The Robust will be offered in a wide number of versions, both single and double cab. The top version will be a FWD version, but Volkswagen will also offer a cheaper 2WD version. Volkswagen will unveil the Robust pick-up truck in 2010. The pick-up will be sold in Europe, South America—as well as North America. And here are the first mule - under that well-modified Toyota Hi-Lux there is indeed the all-new pickup from Volkswagen.  The 2010 "Robust" pickup will be offered in many variations - single and double cab, four wheel drive and also in cheaper two wheel drive. Engines are expected to include new common rail diesels but also a V6 gas engine for some markets.

Volkswagen will go into the pick-up market starting 2010 to take om Toyota. The only pick-up that Volkswagen had into its line-up was a rebadged Toyota Hilux was sold by VW under the name "Taro" with only marginal success. The 2010 "Robust" pickup will be offered in many variations - single and double cab, four wheel drive and also in cheaper two wheel drive. Engines are expected to include new common rail diesels but also a V6 gas engine for some markets. The European version is scheduled to be built at the VW plant in Hannover, Germany.
