While Buick is eliminating trim level badging by providing its consumers with an assortment of packages they may add to their vehicle, Volkswagen->ke94 UK has decided to throw out the idea altogether and create a specific model to include the features provided in the SE trim level. The new version Volkswagen will be adding to its Golf->ke164 line-up is the Golf Match and it will replace the SE trim level and will add over £1,600 worth of extra equipment while costing £300 more than the outgoing model. Not a bad deal, mathematically speaking.

The standard equipment list will include: ABS, ESP, seven airbags, climatic air conditioning, alarm, cruise control, and iPod/MP3 player connectivity. It will also feature 16-inch alloy wheels, a leather multifunction steering wheel, DAB digital radio receiver, Bluetooth system, front and rear parking sensors, and an RCD 510 touchscreen stereo with six-disc CD changer.

Under the hood there will be the same choice of diesel and petrol engines as the outgoing SE trim level: a 122 HP 1.4-liter TSI petrol, a 105 HP 1.6-liter TDI 105HP, and a 140 HP 2.0-liter TDI. A BlueMotion Technology Match model will also be available with the 1.6-litre TDI 105 PS. It will get 68.9 mpg and will emit 107 g/km of carbon dioxide.

The new model will go on sale in June, but orders can be made starting today. The 1.4L TSI 3 door will be available starting at £17,730.
